Parking question?

I'm staying at CBR next week and renting a car with my family. Is parking free at the theme parks if we're staying in a Disney resort? If so, how is this proved (room key)?
Is this a good strategy to have our own freedom and avoid transportation waits? I heard the CBR is booked full next week and imagine the buses will be packed. Any info. would be appreciated.

Yes, They give you a parking pass to put on your car in their lot and you just use that to go to the parks,
we have always rented a car for on property just so we have the freedom to go anywhere we want. Let me know how the CBR is, i am going in early May with my dd and sister.

just a word of advice about driving to the parks - I would not recommend driving to the Magic Kingdom. If you do, you have to park at the TTC and take either a boat or monorail over to MK. If you just take the bus from your resort to MK, the bus stop is right near the entrance to the park.

Driving to the other parks is more do-able.

Another alternative to avoid parking at MK and not taking bus is to park at Epcot and take the monorail to MK. It'll be easy to hop back to Epcot and see the fireworks and wind up where your car is.
