Parking during your cruise at the Radisson at the Port?

We are planning to drive to Port Canaveral for our cruise in November and are thinking of staying at the Radisson at the Port the night before. I have seen some mention on this board and also on the Radisson's web site that you may leave your car parked at the Radisson while on the cruise.

I have two questions concerning this: First, do you have to book the cruise parking rate, or can you book any rate to get the free parking? I have seen some people mention they have gotten the Visit Florida rate for $89.

Secondly, has anyone parked their personal car here while on the cruise? We are doing 7 nights, and I just worry about the security of our vehicle while we're gone. Has anyone had problems with their car being broken into, etc? Is the parking at the pier more secure?

Since I've heard it costs $70-80 to park at the pier for a 7-night cruise, we were just thinking it could save us some money if we could leave our vehicle at the Radisson so I am interested in hearing others' opinions on this.

Thanks!
Kim

i would take the car to the ships parking lot it cost me 75.00 for the 7 night but it is secure. you will not have to worry about leaving your car at the raddisson we were there in may and did have many local teens at the hotel that did not belong there they were up to no good plus it is just so easy to pull up with your car and when you return it is very fast to get back in the car and get on your way home not worth saving a few bucks

My husband & I cruised on the Magic on May17 this year as well as my daughter & her husband. We all stayed at the Radisson on Fri. and left our cars there for the cruise. We experienced no problems when we got back with the security of our cars. Everything was fine & I don't believe I've ever seen anything on these boards that would say anything different when people have left their cars there. We have cruised 3 other times & left our cars at the port terminal parking lot but I just can't see wasting that money, it's too expensive!! Anybody ever had any securtiy problems who have left their car at the Radisson?

We have done both and are pleased with each option. If you are going to stay at the Radisson, enjoy the free parking and save the additional $70 for shipboard splurges. The Radisson is a nice property and excellent value when you factor in the free parking feature. Our car was fine and unharmed. Since we live two and a half hours from the Port, we have also parked there - $70 for the 7 night sailing. It was safe and convenient. You can't go wrong either way. So, if you must pay for a hotel the night prior anyhow, leave your car at the Radisson with no worries.
If you have a sizable group going to the Port, it might be in your best interest to drive everyone and luggage over to check in, return your car to the Radisson and jump on the next available shuttle (much easier to accomodate one person without luggage than 4 or 5 with bags).
Have a magical time,
Dawn Hope

Last year we drove our brand new Ford Excursion to Fla. and stayed the night before at the Radisson. We left it parked at the Radisson while we sailed aboard the Magic for the 7 days "Halloween Cruise". I am happy to report to you that nothing happened to it. We are driving it back there again(to the Radisson) for our next Halloween Cruise aboard the Magic.
We did get any special package to park there for the week, I was told that free parking is offered no matter what room you book with them.

Thanks for all the advice. I think we're going to leave the car at the Radisson. I was able to get a room for $89 so the free parking for a 7-night cruise should save us about $70.

Ditto... and we just happened to be on the same cruise. No, you do NOT have to book their cruise rate. Save the extra $70 in parking fees... you'll need it on the ship!! ;)
