Parking at a resort when dining

So I know that you have 3 hours to park if you have an ADR at a resort but what if you want to use their counter service? We are considering going to Captain Cooks for some cheap Tonga Toast and self serve Dole Whip.

That's fine; the resort parking is for guests while they are enjoying the amenities of that resort, be it dining, shopping, looking around, etc. There have been occasional reports of guests not being allowed to self park at the MK resorts when it's really busy without an ADR. So if you are there during one of those times, the guards at the gate will let you know, but in most cases, you should be okay.

Regarding the Dole Whip, I thought Captain Cooks stopped carrying it when the Pineapple Lanai location opened.

1) Usually, yes.
2) But, during busy periods, no.
3) Toss a coin on the day you are considering.

NOTE: They are getting stricter on allowing parking when "claiming" QS eating. MANY locals and CM's use this phrase, then park to just use the resort pool.

good to know...

They have definitely been getting stricter. We used to just tell them we had an ADR and they would wave us through. The last few times, they have looked up our ADR on a list before letting us in. One time he couldn't find it on the list and wouldn't let us go through until he called someone to verify. So I'm guessing that if we had just been claiming CS, we would have been turned away. (This was at GF)

Interesting! I just spoke with a CM on the phone yesterday and told her that I wanted to visit this resort and asked what to do about parking if I didn't have a ADR. She told me to just tell the guard that I was going to eat at Captain Cooks. She made it seem that this was always allowed.

The phone CM has likely never even been to Florida. Take their advice with a bucket of salt.

We were just there in May - Memorial Day weekend, and had no issues parking at any of the resorts.

We tried to go eat dinner at Roaring Forks at WL in May a couple of years ago and we were turned away as they were only letting resort guests and those with adrs in.

Don't forget, the TTC is right next to Poly and it's a fairly easy walk, unless you're not staying onsite, then disregard this.
