When you get your park hopper tickets, do you receive anything to carry or put them in. Or do you just carry them in your pockets or backpacks.

They don't give you anything, but a lot of people buy a special lanyard with a card holder to carry both their tickets and their Fast Passes.

My advice would be to keep it wherever you keep your credit cards, money, id, etc.... As mentioned, lots of people put them in a pouch on a lanyard. I dont suggest this because they can fall off and / or get misplaced if the lanyard is taken off for some reason. However, many like them.

We do take a backpack for water, sweaters, purchases, etc., but I freak out throwing the tickets and passes in the bag b/c they can get lost in there. SO I carry the tickets and fast passes in the little camera bag that I'm always carrying strapped to my body. Of course my ID and $$ are in there too, but better than a bulky purse, easy access, and I don't take the camera bag off, so not worried about misplacing it.

I have put them in my camera bag before.

Keep in mind you will need access to them many times a day if you plan to use Fast Passes.

Before pins and lanyards I carried mine in my wallet with my ID, credit cards and cash.

Wallet. And take a picture of it (digital camera or cell phone) that clearly shows the numbers. With that info, you can (usually) get a replacement if you lose the ticket because they can cancel the old ticket and issue a new one.

Personally we've always liked baseball card sleeves (or Yugi-oh or Magic card sleeves). The kind that are stiff, but see-through so they can still read the scan code through the plastic. Keeps 'em from getting wet if you get splashed and from not getting all dented in your pocket. Lots of times we carry just that and our room keys when staying on property.

What a great idea! When we were there in the poring rain on our last day in November, it was a real challenge to keep them dry when we park hopped. I usually keep everyone's tickets together in a little zippered coin purse that I clip to the key clip in my regular bag. I dole them out before we hit the turnstiles and collect them all back on the other side of the gate. I don't trust keeping them on my lanyard...too easy to lose them.

I kept my AP on my lanyard for 2 years and never lost a pouch, never lost an AP, never lost a FP. :)

I'm new to DL
so they are paper tickets?
not hard tickets like WDW.
:cutie:

Some come as hard tickets (like a credit card) some are issued as paper, you never really know until you get your tickets.

MY DS managed to lose his entire lanyard on our recent trip. :sad2: The breakaway velcro came undone. Since it had his identification info with our cell numbers in the pouch, the gentleman who found it called me and it was returned before DS even had a clue it was missing. I lost a pin off my lanyard, even with the locking backs (the entire post broke off the pin) because I managed to get it caught on something. I'm constantly getting my lanyard caught on things. If I was just carrying around my own AP, I probably wouldn't be so overly protective, because those are replaceable (for a relatively small fee). But I'm usually responsible for caring for $1200+ worth of parkhoppers, and from what I understand about parkhoppers, if you lose them, you're at the mercy of the guest services CM whether or not they will be replaced. So, for me, it's a lime green Mickey head on the lanyard, and the parkhoppers tucked away in my personal Fort Knox. :)

My husband carries all of our PH's in his wallet. He doesn't like to hand them to the kids, however the last time we were at DLR, the CM's at the gate absolutely INSISTED that each child hold their own ticket before being allowed in...even our 5 year old!

DH was really peeved about this because, as another poster stated, our combined PH's cost over $1,000 (on our last trip, our tix cost $1600+!), and we obviously don't want to chance them getting lost (so, handing one to a 5 year old doesn't seem like the best idea). We treated the in-laws and 2 nieces on our last 5 day trip as well, and it was their first time there, so handing the PH's to the two extra little girls was nerve-wracking, to say the least. We had a couple of close calls with the nieces bouncing around and not paying attention to what they were doing with their PH's. Plus, we felt like we had to be unnecessarily cop-like with the kids in line, just to keep the PH's safe. Needless to say, standing in line at the gates was stressful every time we had to park-hop.

Once we were through the line, hubby collected all the PH's and put them back in his wallet (he used to be able to just hand all of the tix to the CM at once, then have them all handed back to him - which was far easier). When we need FP's, he runs and gets them, so that our PH's don't have to change hands any more than absolutely necessary.

Actually, the hard tickets at WDW are only on the KTTW cards. If you buy tickets only, they are the paper type. Even the APs are the paper type at WDW.

Mugglemama, I'm so glad I'm not the only PH Nazi out there, lol! Your procedure sounds just like ours. Even DMIL hands her ticket right back to me as soon as we're through the gate. She doesn't want to be responsible for it either.

Never lost a pin that was on with a locking back, and never had a problem with the lanyards getting lost. We take our lanyards off before riding most rides but when we leave them on we have them "locked" together at the bottom with a pin thru the velcro, that pin has a Mickey head back just in case but again, in 2 years of AP's we never lost a lanyard, never lost a pouch, never lost our tickets or AP's. Maybe we are just lucky, maybe we are just very careful, who knows but it never happened to us. Before we had APs and were crazy pin traders I carried my PHs and the girls in my wallet (as I said in a pp) and DBF carried his himself. I'd say that's pretty good considering how often we went to the parks. :)
If you have a photo of the numbers on your hoppers and you can tell the CM's when they were used then yes, they will replace them, if you have a receipt that's even better.

"PH Nazi"...LOL!! :rotfl2:

I'm glad my kids are getting older, though, because seriously, the policy of making each kid hold their PH is really a hassle.

well annual pass holders have plastic holders to carry them passes in and or family members tickets. but you could carry it in your wallet...disneyland does not give you anything to really carry them in.,:goodvibes

When we were there, this policy either wasn't in place or wasn't being enforced. We did it every which way. Usually, since we're 3 adults/3 kids, I give each adult their own ticket and that of one of the children. I don't pass them out until we are like 3rd group back from the turnstile, and immediately snatch them all up as soon as we are through. But, sometimes, if the older 2 were behaving especially well, I would "reward" them with being able to hold their own tickets. Conversely, when they weren't behaving so well and were having difficulty in lines, I would just have the CM scan all 6 tickets as I held them....it was just easier at those times.

And of course, when we would split up, I always made sure the adults had their own tickets and those of whichever kid(s) was with them, in case any Parkhopping or Monorail riding was to be done.

Lucky you! :)

Maybe it's only during super busy times? We visited the first week of July this year. As far as I can remember, it's the only visit we've ever been faced with this particular practice (and the CM's we encountered were extremely insistent). We go back in September, and it will be nice if we can go back to just having all 6 tickets scanned at once, while being held by an adult. Handing a kid a $200 ticket is a little nerve-wracking, IMHO.
