If you subscribe to TGM, he will give you advice on what to do first. He doesn't give personalized itineraries though. TGM has a money back guarantee, so I would get it to try. It is a LOT of info, though so be prepared.

The link below will take you to the website for the Unofficial Guide. The particular page I'm linking to is the one for the MK touring plans. Click on one of the links at the right of the page and it will give you the order they recommend. Just eliminate the attractions you're not interested in and you're good to go. They worked well for us in June 05, and they're free. They also offer several other plans with a paid subscription, but since you know what you want to see the free ones should work fine for you.

Well, evidently I can't post a link on this message board, but it is at touringplans with the www before it and the dot com after it. On the left will be a section for Quick Links. The first section under it is for touring plans, just click on "MK" and it will take you there.

Click on the TGM logo above and read the FAQ section. That should help you understand what TGM does.

Here's the order I'd do them in....

Space Mountain
Buzz
Pirates
Jungle Cruise
Get FP for Splash Mtn
Big Thunder (If long line go see Hall of presidents or Tom Sawyer Island)
Ride Splash Mtn
Haunted Mansion
Get FP for Winnie the Pooh
Mickeys Philarmagic
Small world ( if time allows )
Winnie the Pooh
Mickeys toontown fair area
Wishes Nighttime Spectacular 6pm

If you get in right after the rope drops, you shouldnt have waits longer than 10-15 mins

Tour Guild Mike is a great service. We've used it and I highly recommend it. it provides good information so that you can put together a time saving touring plan...the information is the automated part of the service, the tour plan development is not. The price is very reasonable and the people on the forums are very nice. Since you've already figured out what you want to do, you'll be able to use TGM to put it in the right order.

buildabettermousetrip.com does personalized itineraries & touring plans and factors in things like early park closures etc. Tour Guild Mike also provides that information.

The Unofficial Guild provides great general plans - I have nothing bad to say about this book. If someone has zero interest is preplanning and just clips the plans from the back, their trip will be so much better than if they just walk into the park and start riding things. Because it is a book, you don't get specifics about your travel dates and special events. TGM or Mouse Trip are better in that way.

TGM does not order your attractions for you.

Unfortunately, although he sells it as an "automated vacation planner", it's really nothing of the sort. It isn't automated, and it doesn't plan your vacation for you. It's simply a collection of articles giving advice that many would argue you could get elsewhere (though his "fans" will argue that to the death).

Unless you are going in the middle of the summer season, you don't need a fancy touring plan from ANYONE anyway. It's really, really simple : hit the "big" attractions at opening, during a parade, or at the end of the day. Work everything else in between.

It's really not that hard. It should be obvious which are the "big" attractions you want to see. There are only a handful in each park, so it's easy to work them in during the "off" times. I think just as many people would have a successful trip following this simpe philosphy than trudging through pages and pages of gook just to get to one or two facts.

Gotta disagree with you up there! I love my Unofficial Guide; it is super-informative and very funny to read! To the OP, this is my vote, after you visit their website, head on over to Barnes and Noble and get the book--you won't regret it! :)

We love TGM. He does tell you which rides to "do" in which order. Works great. If you want a wonderful trip with little to no wait time,I would subscribe.

NED has a right to his opinion about TGM (he certainly shares it whenever he gets a chance), but I think most people who have used TGM would strongly disagree.
The one part I agree with NED about is that the use of the word's Automated Vacation Planner are misleading to many people. But I don't get nearly as upset about it as NED for several reasons. First, if you read the TGM FAQ, it is clear about what it provides. Second, TGM provides a 100% money-back guarantee, so if you aren't happy with it, it cost you nothing.

TGM will not provide you with a customized itinerary. But it is certainly more than a collection of articles. He provides multiple sample touring plans for each park. These plans are nice because they also include the reasoning behind everything in the plan. Having this information makes it easy to customize these sample plans for your own use. TGM also provides recommendations for the best parks to visit on each day. Not just "go here on tuesdays and here on wednesdays", but a recommendation for every day of the year. Sure, these follow a pattern based on a lot of factors, but if there are special events or holidays, he will take these into account when making recommendations. For this kind of stuff, I trust TGM more than any of the other guidebooks because it is more up to date and Mike spends more time in the theme parks than anyone else. He also provides reviews and tips for tons of attractions.

The "Automated" part is that when you first sign up, you enter information about your trip like how many people, how old the kids are, what kind of attractions you are intereste in, what kind of dining you are interested in, etc., etc. Then his system generates a list of attractions, activities, restaurants, etc. based on your answers to the questions.

There is a lot of information and some people find the site confusing, but it just takes some time to get the feel for it. I'd highly recommend giving it a try. Especially since you can get a refund if you aren't happy with it.
