Ugh! Not here in NJ......Graduation is June 20th.......

You aren't the only one hanging on until the end of the June...our graduation here in CT is June 24th. We are still feeling like it's never going to get here.

This weekend is my daughter's final dance recital, and next weekend is the school's spring musical. Prom on May 23rd (and we still haven't gone shopping for a dress, and won't until after the musical is over on the 4th).

I am noticing a definite lack of focus and motivation toward school work. I'm hoping that its just related to the recital and the musical and that she'll pay attention again after that, but I'm not holding my breath.

For the late June grads, when does college start? Maybe school starts much later than it does here. DD will start on Aug 18th.

Dd starts in the middle of August. She will have about six weeks off after graduation. She doesn't mind....college can't get here soon enough for her!

For my daughter, her first day at ASU will be August 21.

Our graduation 6/24, DD's university (just 20 minutes from home, so same state, same county), move in day for freshman is 8/18 and classes start on 8/27. Fall semester finals end 12/17, I think.

It makes for a short summer for her, and that's all fine, she's very eager to go at this point.

Hi all, I haven't posted in this thread yet but I have been following along. My ds is preparing for the last quarter of senior year, he is excited but too cool to act like he is haha.

Graduation is June 25th, so late! It wouldn't be so bad but he is required to participate in the summer program at his intended college which lasts from July 12 - August 2nd. Then he will come home for 2 weeks and then head back for fall. Yikes!

Senior ball is May 17th, we also have senior banquet coming up at the end of May. We ordered the cap and gown recently, graduation announcements and party invites. Very busy time around here!!

Graduation day is May 24. College move-in day is Aug 21st. He is already counting the days until he starts college. I told him to please not share that number with me, I just want it to be summer, not the end of it.

I've definitely noticed a change in her school work habits. She's an A student with an scattering of B's, but I think she might have the same amount of B's as A's this last semester (because it no longer matters, according to her). She better at least study for AP exams!

Graduation here June 5th. Prom tomorrow, dress bought in February, thank goodness, cuz it took 3 weeks to get an apt to get it altered, than another 10 days for the alterations.
Move in day is August 20th, I am in denial.
In May there is awards/scholarship night, a banquet for 4.0 kids that I was not expecting (my son didn't have a 4.0 so I had no idea there was such a thing), final choir concert, final talent show, my sons 21st birthday etc.
My dd is so done, but she is still keeping up her grades for now.
The college roommate is driving by our town on her way up to register for classes tonight, so I think we are going to meet her for a quick dinner so they can meet face to face.
And all that, and I have gone from no job for over 3 months to two possible jobs, which is stressing me out to the max. One needs income ironed out and I would need to be there Monday (but it's with my old loan officers, so I know the people at least).

Graduation here is June 6 .... 2 weeks later than scheduled, thanks to snow days. Move-in weekend is August 16. Classes start August 19.

Prom is this weekend ... weather is supposed to be spectacular. Thank goodness!!!

DS has to report to Penn 8/21, and if he does a pre-orientation program it will be a few days earlier than that......

My son graduates on May 17th, but his school started the 2nd week of August. Then he has the graduation lock-in that night.

He is going to college out of state and I believe he has to report around August 20th for the Corps of Cadets. I think school starts the beginning of September, but I am not sure. We will get more information when he goes to his new student conference in early June.

He will sign up for "Fish" camp for the August 16th session. They learn all about the traditions of the school, meet other freshman, and have a lot of fun activities over several days. He is really looking forward to it.

He is ready to go to college though. I have to remind him to keep up the grades and not tune out for the remaining weeks.

OMG...Here too! DD has always been so driven that I didn't even think to check last week's grade reports until last night. Two B's- first time ever! I hope she is focused for the 4 AP tests coming up in early May.

Prom tomorrow- college move in on August 17th- it's getting real. So proud of her and going to miss her daily presence so much!!

We met the roommate for a very quick Noodles dinner last night. When we are leaving the house my dd say "really I'm not a punk, I just look like one" because she was wearing her red jeans, black t-shirt and black leather jacket. We get there, and her roommate is also wearing red jeans and a black t-shirt LOL. These two girls, and are like the same kid, living in two houses! Her mom said her dd showed her the bio that my dd posted on the roomsync app, and she thought it was her dd's bio and said yes, that looks great, post it. Then her dd told her, that's the other girls bio. It was almost creepy the amount they have in common! She was also with her friend who is going to the same school, but in a different dorm, and the 3 of them were not stop chat, full of things in common while we ate. It was wonderful!

I don't know when DD will meet her room mate. Texas is a big state. The roommate lives near Houston. We're 400 miles West and their College is North. They had originally signed up for the same orientation but her roommate had to change sessions. DD didn't want to change since being in the first sessions is as easy as it will be to get classes.

They also seemed like a really good profile match so hopefully it will work out.

It can't hurt to remind them that they have to live with the roommate for a year, but they may or may not become lifelong best friends. There are a lot of expectations about college, including your roommate becoming your lifelong best friend. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. If you manage the expectations, it's a lot easier when they hit bumps in the road during the school year.

Our D is friends with her freshman roommate, but they are not best friends. The actually live in the same apartment, get along well, but they just are not cut out to be "best friends". She's actually much better friends with another girl from her freshman dorm.

Went for a senior picture photog session today. We weren't going to do one but this was really for me. We took pics with his guitar and also with his Mickey Grad Ears! That was for mom too.

We don't find out roommate info until July, as well! That seems so late! DD wants to know now so they can coordinate. Grrrrr...
