Here's a thought on viewing the MK parade. If you know you want to see it, try to watch from one of the FIRST stops on the route. That way you're not wasting a bunch of time on Main Street, for example, waiting for the parade to reach you. We sat at the stocks in Liberty Square. I think it was the 2nd stop on the route.
And if you REALLY like the parade
My uncle shared a cute story with me. Apparently my aunt LOVED the parades. So they watched at the beginning of the route, by a train stop. Then my uncle suggested a ride on the WDW railroad since it was right there. By the time they got around to the front of the park, they were just in time to see the parade AGAIN at the end of the route. He is a sweet man and it was so precious hearing him share this memory with me. I could sense how proud he was to be able to surprise my aunt in that way.
