My best friend is flying down from NJ for the weekend. I can't wait. Other than that, hoping work doesn't blow up on Sunday while we're doing repairs on our primary server at work.
 
I bought a new heart monitor the other day - My goal is to to try it out this weekend. It has some features like a target zone that I have not had before. My other monitor is just that a basic - this is your bpm. I really like using one. It lets me know that the time I am actually spending working out is doing something.
 
How are we all doing, its all quiet on here.
I had a naff weekend , hilton buffet breakfast, with the best intentions in the world I cant resist the yummy/yukky stuff!

It is hard! I've been doing much better than I though on this new plan (little carbs) but it does sneak up on you!

Onwards and upwards I will take it off this week and then that will be 2 weeks wasted!!:rolleyes1

I hope you can settle into your plan. once you can get going it is easier.
 
Hey everyone! Hope everyone is doing okay. Lynn, sorry about your struggles but I'm sure you'll get right back on track. :hug: Jen, good luck to you with your new plan!

I'm doing okay. I'm still exercising and eating healthy but starting to incorporate more into my diet. For about the last 3 weeks, I've been staying between 137-138. I'm okay with that. My clothes are fitting good and people I haven't seen in awhile have noticed so that makes me happy. In 2 1/2 weeks, we'll be going to Dallas to visit family. That's always a struggle for me because 1) my mom is a skinny minnie and doesn't really watch what she eats 2) my favorite ice cream store is located up there and I always have to treat myself a time or two 3) my DHs family doesn't eat very healthy and 4) my sis is very pregnant and I want to treat her to her favorite cupcakes. Unfortunately, it's my favorite cupcakes too and almost every time we are together, we buy some and indulge! I'll just have to make sure I take and/or buy some healthy snacks and eat the treats in small quantities! I'm not going to totally deprive myself but I must practice self discipline!!!
 
Just got back home after a long road trip. Tried Shoo Fly pie in Bird in Hand, PA. Can't say I'm a fan.

Happy to be back in the South where I belong. Everyone kept telling me I had an accent. I thought they had accents.

I've been walking every day and tomorrow I start the wii again. My leg is healed and so no more excuses for not exercising everyday. Hopefully it won't be long until I'm back to running.

Keep up the good work everyone, and just think how nice the cruise clothes will look , but more importantly think how much better we will feel and how much healthier we will be.

Everyone tells me i have an accent too. In fact, one night on the cruise standing in the GS line, DH and I were talking and someone behind us said "Georgia!" I didn't say anything as I didn't think he was talking to me. Again, he said "You're from Georgia!" I'm not from Georgia, spent almost my entire life in Texas. I guess to some Northerners, all of us Southerners sound the same. But you're right, we're not the ones with the accect :goodvibes

And yay for you about being able to get back into an exercise routine!!!
 
Good morning! Last weekend, I went to the creating Keepsakes convention in Manchester NH! Talk about Nirvana for this scrapper. Mostly I ate well except for a single scoop of ben & Jerry's on Friday night, and two donuts I didn't need on Saturday afternoon because i was tired and wanted them. Didn't consume nearly sufficient water, either. Naturally, I paid on the scales this whole week. Still 216 :(

Now, it's time for another weekend. What's on tap for y'all this weekend?
 
We're good here. Allergy season reared it's ugly head again here in Florida, so I'm on steroids again. BUT the weight loss plan is going great and I'm down to 181.

215. A pound down - YEAH!

Lynne, it's JUST a temporary setback - i've had 'em (remember the great cocoa debacle) - just right back on the wagon, drink plenty of water and it will come off!

I've been BAD this last week and it shows on the scale. I've gained up to 140, that's 2-3 pounds in just one week. I haven't been watching what I'm eating and I've only been exercising about half the time and then not pushing it once I'm there. But today, I'm back on it. I will start watching what I eat and forcing myself to go to the gym daily and push myself. This will be just a minor setback and I hope to be back to my 137-138 by the time I leave for Dallas on the 22nd :goodvibes

Thank you both! And that's the attitude to have about your loss. A loss is a loss is a loss. Those .25 pounds add up!

I did better today at the gym. First, I decided I would run my 3.1 miles and then just walk several mins to cool down. Finished my 3.1 in 28:17 and then starting walking but decided that since I had slacked the last several days, I should go for an hour of cardio and had planned to walk the remaining time. After about 18 of walking (around 1.1 miles), I thought "why not finish the hour with running?" Finished the hour and decided to run the cool down (5 mins) too. Still felt good, ran another 25 minutes! Granted, it was at a slower pace than my 3.1 in the beginning, but I still did it! Decided I'd better not overdue and finally stopped after 1.5 hours and 8.01 miles! Only 1.1 of that was walking so I feel very happy! But I'm SORE!!! My hips and right knee hurt. Tomorrow, I'm sure my muscles will hurt. Oh, and I also did about 20 mins of upper body strength training. I know I should do more but I was pooped!

I also did better eating today. I didn't have any ice cream (my weakness as I had ice cream 4 times in a matter of 5 days :scared1:) In fact, when DD and I finished off the Rocky Road last night, I decided that I wouldn't buy anymore! I can't. I can't have it in my house and not want it. In the summertime, that is what i crave and I just can't tempt myself right now. I won't torture the kids and will occasionally go to Sonic so they can get it, but I can usually resist there as it's just a few minutes of willpower I need vs 24/7 I need when it's in the house.:thumbsup2
