Three Things...Gratitude Thread

This is difficult as I really enjoy reading and there are SO MANY great books out there.
1.The Walk by Richard Paul Evans. This 5 book series was excellent. I recommend all his books. They always leave you with hope.
2. A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks. He has a few good books.
3. Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott
4. The Outsiders

And so many more waiting to be discovered....

3 Books 📕
I couldn’t possibly possibly pick just three

Kingdom keepers
Harry Potter it just amazes me how she wrote those absolutely misses me
DISNEY war in each one of the books on Michael Eisner Bob Iger Walt DISNEY I feel like I’m forgetting one of them but I read each book about each leader of Disney and then the book about Disney Wars it was very interesting
Hotel Rwanda I’m sorry but I cannot do this man’s name but the man that ran the hotel he wrote a book I went and heard him speak in person and he signed my book mesmerizing such a great speaker but he wrote a book about his experience very moving
Anything and everything that Mr. Stephen King cares to write there is hardly ever been a book that he has not wrote that I did not love and have not read multiple times is my all-time favorite author and has been since I was about 10 years old and I am no spring chicken 🤣🤣🤣

Happy Sunday Friends

I had such wonderful grandparents ❤️

#1 - TOUGH LOVE - My grandma gave me tough love and she is the main person that molded me into who I am today, and I am forever grateful to her for that.

#2 - TRAVEL - My grandparents were the first people to take me on an airplane when I was in 3rd grade. My grandma took me on my first cruise and took me to Hawaii.

#3 - FUN MOMENTS - My grandma and I had more movie, lunch & shopping days than I can tell you - so many! My grandpa and I rode bikes, flew kites, played pool & ping pong and other things.

I have the best memories with both of them. They have given me a great example of how grandparents should be, and I hope I can be as wonderful of a grandparent to my grandchildren one day like they were to me.

Evening all!

So grandparents:

1. Afternoon tea break and cake - one thing my grandparents couldn't live without is a tea break every afternoon which usually involved cake too. It'd get close to 3pm and no matter where they were, they were insistent on a hot drink and sweet treat. While I dont do this every day, it's something I've grown to love while I'm out and about.

2. New Years Day - when i was a kid, we always used to spend New Years Day at my grandparents, and I'm so grateful for all the fond memories I have of these day. They really were the best times.

3. Puzzles - my grandparents had a love of puzzles, especially wordsearches and the random variety you find in a magazine, and this is something I still enjoy doing to this day. Love a good puzzle.

So ..my great grandfather is driving down a 1940s New York country road and there along side the road is a disabled vehicle full of clock parts and 2 boys...cydus yola and moshoppoulos yola .my grandfather toes them to his property and gives them lodging and help with the vehicle.... so great full where the two boys.... they took the last name of my great grandfather.... and the rest is history... that's my grateful story....as they have never shared the history of their stage name

T - travel I’m grateful that I get to travel I absolutely love going places and seeing new things and visiting new places I’ve never been or seen old places that I’ve been

R - reading - i’m grateful that I know how to read I so enjoy reading books it’s something I do every day I’m grateful I grew up in a house where reading books was a common practice

E - eyesight - it’s not the best but I still have it even though I have a condition that may cause it to completely go away they’re hopeful that it won’t so I’m grateful I have what I have I wish it times it was better but I still have it so I’m grateful

K - keys 🔑 I’m grateful for keys I’m grateful that I have them and I’ve never locked myself out of my car or my house and I’m hoping I don’t jinx myself because I just said that

Happy Monday!

Quickie Answers since I’m having a horrible time with this site today. I gotta post before it refreshes and I lose what I wrote.

*I wasn’t quick enough - this is my 2nd attempt

T - TikTok

R - Radio in my car

E - Eggs

K - DD22 & DH (both names start with K)

Tacos- great food, great last minute supper
Reading- although on my nook these days due to OldLadyVision, I try to read every day.
Elephants- although giraffes are my favorite, I really liked the Caring for Giants tour at Animal Kingdom
Karl- my DH. Also Koalas, because they are so freaking cute!

Good morning

California (my home state)

Home to me and my beloved Dad
Mickey lives not far from me

We are blessed to usually not have extreme weather

Grandparents

Grandpa was my first witness to Christ in the quietly kind way he lived. He truly cared about everyone and would try to help anyone.

Grandma was a spitfire who was fiercely loyal and loved to read. She made the best cookies baked with love, too.

An older couple I volunteered with so many years ago who I came to love.

Today! A blessing to live and serve with kind joy.

Reading for sure and also God's miracle of keeping me on His path to a full recovery.

Eeternal life by my faith belief

Kanga, a loyal mom and kindness, of course, too!

I'm behind so I am just going to do today...

T - Triceps are probably my favorite arm muscle to work. It's also my favorite appearance-wise when definition becomes visible.
R - Roku first came into our lives when I bought a Roku embedded smart tv. Since then, I bought a standalone which has been great to turn just about any "dumb" tv on deep discount into a smart one.
E - Egg whites are a staple for me. As much as I love eggs as a whole and their usefulness, eggs whites allow me to make eggy meals go a lot farther since three servings of eggs whites is around the same calories as one egg.
K - My aunt on my mom's side (K name). We haven't seen each other in forever and we don't see eye to eye on everything these days, but she and I were always really compatible personalities and she gave me my favorite nickname that we still use today.
