Yeah the pregnancy thing does not sound so good, but we are still going to try to work towards it and make a decision in a couple of months. I figure it gives me a goal to work towards - you know running as opposed to walking.

My name is Tenya and I've been on the cruise thread almost since it's beginning (although I've not been around since the first of the year). In trying to catch up I found mention of this thread and spent most of last night and this morning reading it.
I've been a yoyo-er for most of my life. About nine years ago I joined WW and lost 40 pounds between Easter and July 4. Everysince then my weight has gone up and down.
As my 50th birthday looms right around the corner, I decided this is the time to get healthy. I started Jenny Craig mid March and have lost 18 pounds. I started at 208 and hope to be 140 by cruise time.
Sunday I devised a plan for exercise (which I HATE) involving walking on the treadmill every day, reaching 5 miles by my birthday in late August. I have fibromyalgia and have had to use a scooter at WDW for several years. I hope to spend my 50th birthday trip walking around the world.
I've enjoyed getting to each of you over the past 27 pages and look forward to taking this journey all the way to our big reward.

Tenya, welcome, glad you got a plan, you need a plan!!!
Its not good for us yo yoing, I do it even at my target wt, really gd for 3 wks, really bad for 3 wks, I have started a food diary, I printed the pages free from the net, when I get back down to my target wt and aim to keep doing it.

Hey everyone! Been gone for a week and boy has there been a lot of activity! I had internet access off and on but haven't had a chance to catch up. I plan to this weekend.

Tomorrow morning, I am running my first 5K. I'm so nervous. I know it's not a long run so I don't understand why I'm so nervous. Oh well, in less than 12 hours, I'll be finished!

Carmen, I hope you're doing well in the 5K since you should be in the middle of it as I post this. The weather in DFW is already hot and humid this morning. Hope it's not as bad in Houston :rotfl:.
Did my first walk on the new treadmill yesterday. I watched an episode of True Blood on my iPhone and by the time it was over I'd walked 2 miles, about 1.5 than I'd planned. So, it looks like I can do 2 miles everyday and catch up on lots of show.

Thank you! I'm all done and so happy I did it. I was thinking of backing out and I'm so glad I didn't! And yes, it was hot and humid! We had to go over 2 overpasses 2 times each and I thought that last one was going to kill me. But I kept running knowing I was getting close to the finish line. My finish tag time was 30:00.4 and that was 54 out of 262 women in my age group (30-34). I'll take that! DH had to work but I'm glad my friend Tina was there to take pics since he couldn't be there.

Great job on the walking! And isn't it great to be able to get 2 things over with at once? Sometimes I'll ride the bike and home and play games on my i-pod Touch. Makes the time go by so much faster.

Tenya, I was in you neck of the woods this past week visiting family and friends. We're both from the DFW area so we make at least a couple of trips up that way each year. In fact, I'm heading back a week from Monday as my sister is scheduled to be induced on Jun 8. Then, that should be it for awhile.

Tenya, once I started feeling so good from working out, that is when it became something I wanted to do. Now, when I don't work out and eat bad, I just feel lousy. Working out gives me so much energy now!

Lynne, yep, I was naughty too this weekend. Yesterday, went to a party and had 3 piña coladas.

Well, I'm nursing a sore ankle from the run. I figured it would feel better by now and while it's not as bad as it was Saturday, it is still very sore. I'm really hoping that within a couple of days, I can run again. It's even radiating into my toes today. Almost a tingling feeling all over my foot and ankle. Ugh.....

That sucks, its real annoying and frustrating, Ive still never ran since 2 weeks ago, still got pain, but since I can at least walk,cycle and go to gym without hobbling I aint pushing it.
It took a full week before I was able to walk without hobbling, I reckon it will be the same for you unfortunatly.

I am addicted to exercise, I get all narky and twitchy, Len thinks I am nuts.

I have to say , I find the treadmill pretty boring, I went for a great bike ride today, went up a huge hill, the feeling I got when I got to the top was about as great as the view.
 
Thanks for the suggestion of finding an exercise I enjoy, Lynne. My problem is I don't enjoy exercising at all! The treadmill seems to be the best answer because I can catch up on shows no one else likes to watch.
I'm taking today off since I'm tired from being out late last night. Wicked was awesome. I just wish I could see it with Kristen Chenowith and Idina Menzell.
Weighed in at Jenny Craig this morning. I'm down two more pounds for a grand total of 18.2 since mid-March. This week I should break into the 180s!

2lbs:woohoo: thats great,my mum doesnt like exercise at all either. thats pretty good, 14 I need to loose , I was all full of hopes for this week but I came back to work for the first time for a week and my uniform feels the same, I will be delighted if the scales just move in a downwards direction!
