Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

Ok, so if I write 10 posts I can see the fish extenders list??? How does that work?
Thanks,
Rita

Seven weeks from today we arrive in LA to prepare for our tour of Walt Disney Studio :yay: If we don't make it to the ship in time we'll see y'all in Mexico :sad2:

If it's the one in Burbank, you will be around 45+ minutes from port. What time is your tour? We live about 5 miles from that studio.

Having just booked this cruise yesterday, I'm madly reading through the board, up to page 67 now, see that everyone was talking about Port to Hobby transportation starting about page 60.

If there are any other newcomers out there still in need of transportation to Hobby, I'm happy to form a group to take a 10 passenger SupperShuttle Safari to Hobby.

A 10 passenger van won't hold 10 adults with tons of cruise luggage, so perhaps 6 folks or so.

Welcome!

OK, sounds good. Did you pay already? We are on 3:30 SW flight back to Phoenix. Did you figure out how long it takes to get to the airport?

We are very excited about our cabin! It looks so cute on line - our daughter already has plans to sleep on the 'deck'.

Welcome!! I think we might be on the same flight.

Welcome to all the new cruisers! Congrats to all that have gotten their cabin assignments! Thanks for all the congrats on my new grandson. He is doing so well. I'm just loving him. It's going to be hard to leave him when it's time to go home.

This cruise is getting closer! I am so excited! I'm so glad I have something to keep me occupied for now so I'm not going crazy waiting for Sept 14.
I hope you all are having a great weekend!

Does anyone know how many electrical outlets are in the rooms?

One of the 2 outlets on the desk, the wavephone is plugged into. There is also one open behind the tv. The one in the bathroom will run a shaver or charge a phone but not enough amps for anything else. Small power strip is a real must.

Yep, that's the Studio. We have to be on property at 9am for a tour and archive visit. Are plan is to leave at noon or noon thirty at the latest and was thinking that we might return the car to LAX instead of San Pedro and catch the Disney Shuttle. The thought is that if we are running late they are not going to leave without their bus.

The only hitch with that is to check what time Disney's planning on running the last bus transfer from the airport. If they are telling people to have flights arrive into LAX no later than noon, for example, they may be running the last shuttle bus at 1pm.

I'm still playing chicken with the airlines for my return flight. US Airways is my preferred airline since I'm silver preferred with them, but the return flight is just too expensive right now. I'm planning on flying out of IAH so the DCL transfer seems to be my cheapest option as a solo traveller.

Still confused about the fe. Where do I find more info on it?
Thanks,
Rita

Please count me in on the recipe exchange.

Actually, I am cruising with denamo. She already joined the exchange. This is my first Disney cruise and I am looking forward to it because I love everything Disney!
Rita

I will be putting you on there with your own line so that you both get copies of your own and do not have to share.

I have read a little bit about this activity but not sure I completely understand it. How many items do we actually bring? Are we talking 10, 20, 30, etc? Just wondering how much space I am looking at if I decide to do this.
Thank you for you help!
Rita

Look at my post on page 91 #1363. I listed everything you ever wanted to know about FE's and the exchange from the DIS. As I have said before, the gifts and amount given is totally up to the giver and their budget and luggage space.

I only send out the FE list document to the ones that have joined. Our breakdown is 27 cabins with 1 dog, 8 boys and 10 girls (boys and girls ages 17 down to 23 months)

Good Morning! We have our cabin #. It is 5146. Iminakilt is 2048 and our daughter Brittany/Jeremy is 2050 (All participating in Fish Extenders). Working on my Fish Extender/Gifts today actually.
Now that I have 10 posts, I am excited to look for PM with FE list because we would like to do something extra for the kids.
We are getting really excited!

Tracy :woohoo:

will you be making sure Brittany/Jeremy have a copy of the list since they are the only ones of your 3 cabins that do have a Dis logon? I will be sending you the link in just a few minutes!!!

Remember everyone. . . . . only 4 more days to join the FE!!!

Kelly, you've got my favourite cabin. as this was a last minute splurge, I'm IGT, my first inside cabin experience. Should be "interesting".

Supershuttle is booked, 11 am pick up on the 28th, booked it for a party of 6, so there's room for another couple. Total price with tip, $165.

We have had Interior (twice) Oceanview (twice) and Verandah (once). I can honestly say I don't mind the interior at all! We spend all our waking hours on deck! I hope you get a great stateroom on your IGT and I will cross my fingers you get an upgrade!

1. We booked the VGT and I understand it, we will receive our actual stateroom assignment anywhere from 10-5 days before the cruise and that we will not be notified and have to keep looking on our Disney Reservation Web Site to see what room we get. Where on the site will this room assignment appear?

2. How does one receive your luggage tags?

3. As I understand it, we will be receiving some type of package/info mailed to us before the cruise. What exactly is in this package?

We have completed one DCL cruise. It was a guarantee assignment. We did receive notification of our cabin assignment through an email. Of course, I was already checking before I discovered the email. Our assignment was made about a month before we cruised.

2. How does one receive your luggage tags?

Our luggage tags came in the mail with a spiral bound book with cruise info.

that I recall. A spiral bound book with cruise documents. It's not really anything you probably won't have already read about here on the DIS boards. The DIS board is a great wealth of info!

Answered your questions above. Hope it helped some. Also, I'm thinking you can get luggage tags at the port. This has been available on other cruises we've taken. I'm sure on a ship of 2,000+, someone would forget a tag. :)

We have sailed on two VGT cruises and both times our cabin assignment showed up on the DCL web site at 13 days before sailing. I don't recall actually getting an email from DCL but we might have gotten that too.

You'll get your luggage tags before you have a room assignment so there will be a blank space on the tag. Once you find out your cabin number just write it in on the tag.

I am still not 100% on what is the best way to reply to a message, but... Kathy, I sent you a reply to the PM you sent me with the link to the list. THANK YOU (If you can't see my reply for some reason) and yes, I will make sure Brittany gets a final copy of the list.
By the way, what's your thoughts on Bingo since he can't have treats? I was going to get him a pig ear to be honest, but I think that constitutes food so..... I'll have to think of something else.

Tracy
