Pal Mickey (& Friends) Adventures & Fashions

Here is Chuckie in his Elf costume.

I think it is the cutest of the three.

Here is Chuckie in his Pal Mickey Santa Suit.

I bought the boots at BAB. I do not like them. They are heavy and too big. I had to stuff tissue paper inside to keep them on.

One thing I will do is take the red pants from his Elf costume and cut them down to fit better and then use the black patent shoes I have instead of the boots.

If anyone is interested, they may have the boots.

Chuckie is absolutely adorable. I will post pictures of Nicky on our latest trip in the next couple of days. We had a wonderful time. He has the elf costume that you posted and that is what he wore for touring this week. He even got a photopass picture with Santa at Magic Kingdom.

Here is Nicky waiting to leave for our trip last week-end.
DisneyDec2007002.jpg

Here he is waiting in the airport.

More to come later!

Here is Nicky with two of his buddies at Magic Kingdom.

Donald doesn't look too happy to be holding Nicky!

DisneyDec2007163.jpg

Nicky will be going to Disney with me in 19 days. When we return, I'll have lots more to share. He is going to Lansing with me this week so I may be able to get some while we are down there.

It's about time I got around to starting Mick's trip report to the World! And the reason I'm doing this right now is that I'm not wanting to do the real work I'm supposed to be doing. Yet I feel I need a break, so here goes!

I have already posted the outfits that I made for Mick before our trip. I wanted to make a few more, but I felt it was essential to finish my MNSSHP costume, instead. Oh well. . . :confused3

Flashback with me to last October. It's finally time to go to the airport. We arrive bright and early, and I unveil Mick to the kids. They're thrilled to see him, but I haven't yet revealed that he actually talks, mostly to spare the poor souls on this early flight to Orlando.

Here's Mick with Sweetie Girl's puppy, Lisa:

221805164_AfM3P-M.jpg

And here I am with them, feeling just as tired as I look:

221804678_VjWJ5-M.jpg

It's finally time to board, so we get on and I strap Mick into his seat for a smooth and safe flight ...

221805156_fakYH-M.jpg

... and before you know it, this is what we're seeing!

221805413_DEZcy-M.jpg

Once we arrive at our Resort, Port Orleans Riverside, I reveal Mick's hidden talent, and the looks on the kids faces is just priceless! This is going to be a great week!

First order of business - it's time to meet Mickey Mouse at Chef Mickey's. Mick is very thrilled about this, especially when he dons his own chef's costume. See how proud he is of it?

244443246_Nm8Gt-L-1.jpg

And a little while later, it's time to meet the Main Mouse himself! Chef Mickey is so thrilled to see his mini-me, that he jumps around all over the dining area with Mick. Actually, I'm not sure who was more excited, Mickey or the kids seeing how excited Mickey was.

244443420_DmKtr-L-1.jpg

And here's the whole family (we used this shot for our Christmas card):

244443473_4z33z-M.jpg

The other characters had fun with Mick. Goofy didn't seem to know what do make of him...

244443521_zN3j9-L-1.jpg

Minnie just kept on hugging him:

244443607_w7W2q-L-1.jpg

... and Donald tried to beat him up! Shame on you, Donald!

244443624_rgFBD-L-1.jpg

After dinner we headed on over to the Magic Kingdom for a bit.

244443725_k8WPi-M.jpg

Then it was time to return to POR. Mick was tired out from his very busy day. He changed into this jammies and got ready for bed, snuggling with the bunny towel animal left by Mousekeeping. It was a very fun day.

244443813_LwgoY-L-1.jpg

We woke bright and early to get to the Animal Kingdom before the large crowds arrived. I was a bit paranoid about missing the bus, so we ended up arriving and being the unofficial first people in line for the day, a fact that DH didn't let me forget all day (he wanted more sleep, you see).

Here's Mick with Buddy Boy

244443901_smfVM-L-1.jpg

And with Sweetie Girl:

244443875_LzLTv-M.jpg

And with Jose, the wonderful CM from Ecuador who kept us company until it was time to enter AK:

244443985_ck2PU-L-1.jpg

The first ride we went on was Expedition Everest,

244443999_Pd4Lz-L-1.jpg

and we realized that once was enough for our family. (You can read more about our experience on our Trip Report).

We decided it was time for somethings a bit more tame, like Dinosaur and Triceratops Spin.

244444104_WPjqZ-M.jpg

Sweetie Girl rescued a new friend for Mick from the Dinosaur gift shop, Rexley (a female T-Rex, of course!). So while Handsome and Buddy Boy went on Primeval Whirl, the rest of us went to the Boneyard to dig us some Mastodon bones!

244444216_bgFJn-L-1.jpg

Mick had quite the time.

244444113_si6qn-M.jpg
.

But all of that digging made us hungry, so after traveling on Kali River Rapids a couple of times,

244444249_YSMkF-L-1.jpg

we settled ourselves down at the Flame Tree BBQ to refuel.

244444456_u4dYf-M.jpg

244444323_QtrCU-M.jpg

Rexley got a bit tired of waiting for the food to arrive, so she starting eating everything in sight:

215521919_a2RF3-M.jpg

After refueling, we caught a photo-op with Terk,

244444669_UertE-L.jpg

roamed around the Tree of Life, saw the Festival of the Lion King,

244444702_HeCAa-L-1.jpg

and stopped at the Kidcot station. Mick even got his own passport!

244444777_KjZ92-L-1.jpg

244444930_X3KM8-L-1.jpg

We rode the Wildlife Express train to the Conservation Station

244445047_UXaCU-M.jpg

where we saw lots of fun stuff, like this tarantula.

244445080_y86se-M.jpg

But all of this exploring was tiring, so we needed to refuel at Boma for dinner.

244445154_pfheL-L-1.jpg

Then it was back to POR to rest up for Epcot!

I'm loving your's and Mick's trip report. Woohoo. :woohoo: Pictures of two of my favorite things. One of Nicky's cousin's and Disney World!

I was just getting ready to send you a pm and ask when you were going to report in. I saw a couple of your posts on the POTD thread.

I hope that y'all don't mind getting all of these almost at once. But if I don't finish these reports quickly, who knows when I'll get back to them!

Monday brings us to Epcot. I love Epcot, and so does Mick. He only wishes that he had a matching tee shirt, too. Rexley really feels bad because she doesn't have any clothes!

224028871_7G6oc-L.jpg

But Mick forgives me when I promise to bring him on Test Track. We had to wait for Handsome to get fast passes for Soarin, so we hung out at the entrance while we waited for him to return.

239219108_Kjvoe-L-1.jpg

Then we got on the ride, and was it fantastic! There's nothing like going fast, is there?

253382879_W2JrC-M.jpg

Mick had to check out the cars after the ride - this one was a nice convertible. Hey - whose harry leg is that?

244445853_cbwY9-L-1.jpg

Soarin' was next - it looks like someone's getting tired of getting her photo taken, huh? ("Not again!)

244445199_fPHgT-M.jpg

But at least Mick and Rexley like to ham it up for the camera.

244445266_G33pp-M-1.jpg

Finally, we're inside. Mick makes sure he's well secured before the ride begins.

244445310_phQJU-M.jpg

It was a cool ride! We'll have to go on it at least three more times!

Rexley is feeling a little adventurous, so he hitches a ride on Sweetie Girl's head while we wait in line for Living with the Land.

244445405_tpezD-L-1.jpg

All ready to ride!

244445539_CiHxf-L-1.jpg

Ooh - it's dark in here! Isn't there anything to see on this ride?

253389860_78CLu-M.jpg

Okay - this is much better! How do they get those plants to do that? :scratchin

253390877_YGnzt-M.jpg

Mick found his Halloween pumpkin. Maybe they'll ship it home for us so we won't have to carry it around the park all day long?

247145653_vuU9J-M.jpg

We decided that it was time to look for Nemo, but we had to sit in this clamshell to find him. We did find him, but he had already found his dad so we left him alone. Way to go, Nemo!

244446002_wKjwb-M-1.jpg

Our feet are very sore by now, so we decide to talk the boat across to the World Showcase. Mick's all ready to get his passport stamped at all of the Kidcot stations!

244445796_bhWBb-M.jpg

We didn't get to them all, but then it's something to look forward to doing when we come the next time!

The next day was Tuesday, a sleep in day. Hurray! We took a late bus to the Magic Kingdom for Sweetie Girl & I to get our hair done at the Bippity Boppity Botique.

253399473_cZCH7-M.jpg

Handsome & Buddy Boy took Mick while we were at the BBB, so I didn't get many photos that day. But afterwards, we joined back up with them and went on Buzz Lightyear.

244446171_vWxbo-L-1.jpg

Mick got tired so he spent the rest of the day and evening napping while we stayed out and played.

On Wednesday we went to Disney Studios.

253404582_w4LAi-L.jpg

Beauty and the Beast was a great show, even though we didn't get early and had to sit near the back.

244446260_Qm6t5-L-1.jpg

We had reservations at 50's prime time cafe, so Mick was sure to dress appropriately! Check out his cool duds:

244446366_zcHhT-L-1.jpg

It was nice to sit inside out of the heat and just hang out for a while and watch tv.

244446383_FA9VY-L-1.jpg

Uncle Patrick was our server that day.

244446532_3nPGB-L-1.jpg

He didn't even mind that Mick was sitting on the table! :rotfl:

244446505_kLtt3-L-1.jpg

One of the cool things that we did was to see the Lights Motor Action stunt show. That was amazing!

244446673_9dFPE-M.jpg

And we couldn't pass by any opportunity to visit with the characters! First it was with Frozone - he thought Mick was awesome!

253404772_dPbna-L.jpg

244443049_czSpL-L.jpg

And it was a must to see Remy and Emile.

244443117_gMrdZ-M.jpg

Remy really liked him!

Thursday was our Typhoon Lagoon day, so Mick spent the day on his own.

Friday we went back to the MK for some more fun, starting with the Little One's Extra Magic Hour. It was swamped with people, let me tell you! But we did manage to get on some rides, like Winnie the Pooh

244446845_K7Zma-L-1.jpg

and the Teacups. Mick decided he didn't want to try spinning the wheel, so he just took a nap, instead.

244447023_qRPkS-M.jpg

We headed on over to Tom Sawyers Island and wandered around for a bit.

244447221_PYzY8-S.jpg

and found a paintbrush!

244447199_gLM6S-M.jpg

He took a rest while Buddy Boy tried his hand at the rifles.

244447325_PH5X3-M.jpg

It is a nice place to sit and relax!

244447359_cGNZ4-L-1.jpg

Mick especially liked the raft ride to and from the island.

244447498_jW4nP-L-1.jpg

We visited the Tiki Room

244447590_hNQ5s-L-1.jpg

and the Jungle Cruise.

244447692_GwuY7-M-3.jpg

253411474_crzWY-M.jpg

We had no idea that there was a tarantula in the cage he was leaning on! :scared1: Yikes!

244447621_Cczpm-M.jpg

There was more to the trip, but he decided to spend the rest of the time in the room with his friends.

253413017_Qmec4-M.jpg

But Mick is excited about his upcoming vacations to Disneyland and California Adventure this summer, and a Disney Cruise in the Fall of 2009!

QuiltyMom--
I am LOVING your pictures!!! I now have new inspiration for a scrapbooking ideas for our upcoming trip!! :yay: Thank you so much for sharing.

I love the outfits, too! Mickey's slippers are da bomb!! And where did you get those black and white sneakers he wore to 50's Prime Time? Too cool. :cool1:

The slippers I read about here on this thread - they were at Target. And the sneakers are Van's baby shoes. They were on sale for $20.00 :scared:, but I couldn't resist getting them.

BTW, I was at Target the other day and they have their Spring/Summer baby shoes out. They had a large selection, too. I picked up a pair of dark blue "crocs" with straps for Mick. Gotta add to his wardrobe, ya know!

I am so happy w/this thread! These are exactly the Pal Mickey outfit ideas that I'm looking for!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to start working on a Chef Mickey outfit tonite!! I LOVE THAT ONE! I cannot believe the amount of creativity that I've just seen looking thru the pages of this thread!

Now here is what really prompted me to look for these outfits in the first place -

#1 I want to make a Jedi outfit like Jedi Mickey at SWW - I did find a good pic of Jedi Mickey himself but I didn't see any Jedi outfits for Pal Mickey on this thread - anyone have one?

and -

#2 We are cruising for the first time this coming June and I want to make an outfit like Captain Mickey wears on the cruise ships - I think I'll be able to copy the shirt and pants from a pic of Captain Mickey that I found on the DCL website but I will need to find/make a hat! Anyone have any ideas as to where I might find a white ship's captain hat like that?

Thanks everyone -

I've been trying to figure out the same thing. I did a search on teddy bear Navy outfits just to see what they had. The only cap I saw was made of fabric. Here's the link.

It's not the best looking hat, but it gave me an idea of how to make it: an oval for the top, the same shape oval for the bottom with a circle cut out that would fit the head, a band with a bill. Then to find a small anchor applique for the decoration. Does this make sense? I'd make sure to put elastic loops on each side to slip over Mickey's ears.

I also found this adorable Jack Sparrow bear! It's too cute! But it's also very expensive!
