Good Evening Ladies & Gent.....

Mommyof2princesses..........I recieved my bags yesterday & I am so excited to make a few things out of them....And a big thanks for sending so many!! I think I am going to make myself a pen & pencil bag since I am now a Non-traditional student! And to make a little wallet for my daughter.

****For those of you who make bows***********

I had posted once before that my korker bow I made seemed kind of limp...And was told to use Starch.....Ok....Well is that spray starch that I woudld spray on after I wrap the dowel or is there a starch you dip the ribbon in before you wrap the dowels? I feel like a goofballl asking....:confused3 Thanks...

And all of the outfits on here lately have been outstanding. Especially the big give outfits....I will have to get my crayon rolls done for the MAW big give #1this weekend. Do you think regular crayons or the twistables...I like the twistables, yet they are so long.....Such a dilema...:rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao:

Here is what I made for the kids this week with my new sewing machine.
th_4th20082.jpg
They look ADORABLE!!! Love both of the outfits!! Are you going to anything on ds shirt I haven't done lucas' yet and haven't decided if I will. Although all this talk about the zigzag applique reminded me how easy and quick that was hmmmm Well anyway I love their outfits!!!
Lily is looking super cute in her "flamingo" pants, and lukes pose is very very ah creative. I was looking for that fabric today the one you used for lukes pants. Where did you get it. I was looking at joanns. I wanted to use it for logans outfit. I did find something different to use, but I was still wondering wher you got it.
I love all the shirts!! Jasmine looks so beautiful!! You know we all such enablers- I don't even know how many shirts I have done stairs and I think I bought about 5 more just this week!!! They are so hard to pass up when they are only a couple bucks!! I get most of mine from walmart and Target. I have a compulsion to check every clearance rack I pass by.
Here is the Peter Pan outfit, check out the sharpie on the map! I had decided to make this right before our trip and didn't leave me enough time to finish the little detail! I must say though it doesn't stop people from loving it or wanting to buy it right then and there! I have had it on Dallas' top bed waiting to be fixed up for 2 years now!

I love that!! It is very darling!!
Not pajama-ish at all! They look very cute and comfy though!!
I know that I posted this dress before but now I have some pics with a model. This is Megan (one of Parker's BFF's from preschool )and she is now the proud owner of the dress.

It looks even better on- what a cutie!!
I feel the same way minnie2! :grouphug:

Great stuff to start your stash!! Good luck with the AK outfit!!
They so cute together!! I still can't believe you did those by hand!! :worship: :worship: :worship:
Quick Question for those that appliqué. Do you use stabilizer? Sometimes I don't need to, but I want to try a t-shirt and I am think I most definitely will need to.
I do on everything but jeans.
Went to walmart tonight, DH's walmart is getting rid of their fabric dept and it is one of the few left within an hour, actually I only know of 1 other, and so I spent $130 on fabric! I am about to have no where to buy fabric!!!
:sad2:  Let us know if you can't find any material you need!!
th_clothingcreations077.jpg

Do you think it needs something else? Maybe "T I N K" appliqued on the leg? Or just leave it?
I would leave it blank other wise you'd have to rip the whole leg out. But if you really wanted to I guess it wouldn't be to bad to sew that back up. Either way it is really cute! I just bought that purple tink to make dds birthday outfit!

Disnylovinfamily- I missed your but wanted to say that that the beach outfits were super adorable and your appliques are looking great so far!!

We used to get off on more silly tangeants back then, didn't we? :rotfl:
I think we much to busy sewing these days to dig out silly pictures and sappy stories...... I'm just kidding that is one more thing that I love about you gals. And by the way to all you newbies- Welcome!!! And we need to see your silly pictures and hear your sappy stories too!! Crazy 80's hair- ::yes:: We want to see it!! "trendy cool" outfits from 20 years ago- ::yes:: YES we WANT to see it!! How you met your significant other, labor stories, the funny thing your kid did yesterday- ALL of IT!! We love it!! Unless you ARE to busy sewing then that's ok too! :thumbsup2

I had originally planned on cutting out several of the stars and appliqueing them on the shirt but they aren't straight lined stars and wasn't sure how they would look. Then I thought I would just make a star applique out of the material but I couldn't free hand a good enough looking one before he had to wear it today for their playgroup.

Got any ideas?

It's a sickness! I check clearance racks, too, even though Zoe doesn't need any more clothes! It's not quite as bad as my fabric shopping problem but close. ;)

BTW - I kick myself that I didn't buy more of the pink tees. It's actually from the boys' department at Wal Mart and it was marked down a lot. I think I paid $1.50 for it. I guess not many parents in the area wanted pink tees for their sons. LOL

This is the outfit I made for the first round of the Big Give

CIMG0747.jpg

And this is the necklace that I made to match. There's also a bracelet that isn't shown.

Picture002.jpg
Oh your Pluto outfit is darling. I know Isabelle is going to LOVE it!!!!! :goodvibes I really think you did a great job on it. I love the idea of a Pluto skirt!!!

Just wanted to say good night to everyone! My induction is tomorrow at 7:30 am. I am still dilated to 5 cm and 50% effaced so hopefully I'll have a baby by lunchtime! I wish you all great sewing! I'll post pictures when I get home!
Best wishes to you and I can't wait to hear all about your new beautiful baby!!!

I am plugging away at my Big Give outfit for Isabelle but it is taking some time since it is ALOT of applique work (I have never done anything this in-depth before) I am looking for advice on those of you that paint the faces one. What kind of paint do you use and what is the best method to apply this. Hand sewing it kinda scares me so I am thinking painting might be easier. Any thoughts? I will post some pics tomorrow of the capris (I am more then half way done the appliques on those). i have not started the top yet---I need to get cracking.
Try a FABRIC marker with a very fine tip!!!!

Here's what I have done so far for my MAW Big Give contribution.

maw1.jpg
That is so cute. I can't wait to see it when you are all done!

I thought I would share some pics from my recent beach trip. We had a great trip and there were so many great pics but I am just posting some of the custom photos. Here are the kids in their beach customs:

Ariel dress #2

I finished my oldest daughter's Ariel dress. I need to shorten the straps on top, but other than that, it's finished!

And here they are together-

I'm very happy with both the dresses, but am so tired of that Ariel material!! :rotfl: I can't wait to get started on a different print, and a different type of outfit!

It is supposed to have a button on the back but I haven't tried a buttonhole (ever) and I was afraid I would mess the outfit up.

I wish all patterns ran the same. I made this a size 3 (she wears a 5T or 4/5 in a shirt and it is too big in the top. If she isn't careful, it will be hanging off one shoulder. At least she will be able to wear it for a while, I'll just need to pick up some more of this fabric to keep in the stash so I can add some tiers to it as it gets shorter.

Very cute. I have a similar pattern for a dress like that...one day! That snoopy fabric is so cute! I have a lot of problems with tops with my little one. Usually I have to adjust the straps before sewing them all together or it will fall off too.

Here is the outfit I made Lily yesterday. I love the way the easy zig zag applique turned out. These are her Megan pants.

th_IMG_0807-1-1.jpg

how cute! Her shirt and pants are really pretty! Love Luke's new pose! We have some new poses forming in our hosue too!

I just finished this tee for Zoe. She decided on our recent DLR trip that Jasmine is her current favorite princess - I think mostly because Jasmine wears pants. LOL This gave me a chance to see how well I did drawing her hands. I think they look OK but I might tweak them for the next princess.

th_jasmine_peek1.jpg

I also have done these tees in my continuing effort to use up some of the tees I've accumulated. I've been wanting to try some of the dwarfs since I've never done them so this was a fun chance to experiment.

th_grumpy_peek1.jpg

They all look great but my favorite is dopey! it is so cute!

Here is the Peter Pan outfit, check out the sharpie on the map! I had decided to make this right before our trip and didn't leave me enough time to finish the little detail! This also has the loose stitches jham was just talking about.

These are too cute! I love the map and all!

this came out so pretty. I just love a-line!

So, I got to go to Hobby Lobby today, woo hoo! But, I found they were more expensive than Walmart, and Walmart actually has a bigger selection. I didn't find everything I was looking for, but thankfully they had some Minnie material. They also had some remnant pirate material and I was glad to find that. Here is a picture of my stash!

th_July2032.jpg
th_July2033.jpg

I also found some remnant Tulle, so I snatched it up and made youngest dd a tutu. She didn't know what to think of it! It was my first try and if you look closely, it's very sloppy and pretty bad looking :rotfl2: but my 14 month old loves it, so that's all that counts! ;)

th_July2035.jpg

I got the animal prints to make my oldest daughter's Animal Kingdom outfit. She wants to be a cheetah and have her face painted too. What a sight she'll be! ;) I can't wait to get started on it!

Renae

Look at that stash....I am jealous! No more fabric till I finish some outfits! My mom works at Hobby Lobby! Imagine the pain! I do get her 15% discount! And she works in the fabric dept!

Ariel dress #2

You are very talented to make those by hand with no pattern! Can't believe you go patternless!:lmao: They are really cute and your two little ones are beautiful!

Big Give 1 outfit!!

Do you think it needs something else? Maybe "T I N K" appliqued on the leg? Or just leave it?

That is really pretty! I would't add anything! That looks like a potrait peasant top!

:

Oh, glad they got there. I sent them to work with dh a week ago! He sometimes forgets!

Hi from a window shopper :)

I've been sewing up a storm for dd8, though all non-Disney sundresses and skorts. Now I want to move on to some Disney items for our trip in 42 days :)

I'm looking for some Disney PARK clipart or coloring pages for appliques, like the Tree of Life or the DHS sorcerer's hat or a ride logo, etc. I've searched the bookmarks, googled and checked all of dd's WDW coloring books to no luck. Since I also have a ds15 and a dd13, I can't use princess-y or cutesy designs for our matching shirts.

I do not have fun software to manipulate images, just Paint. And my tech support (ds15!) is currently hiking in New Mexico with Boy Scouts for another week.

Any ideas or links would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks!

Has anyone tried to change a ADR at the door? I have ADR's for 2 in September, and now mya have a third adult. When trying to ask about these, it makes my current ADR's horrible. So , NO FLAMES PLEASE, has anyone tried to squeeze in an extra chair at a 2 top?

Looks GREAT I love the ruffles! i actually just figured out how to ruffle by accident last night i am so excited! But i need to start on my best friends boy's bowling shirts for WDW do you think twin 6 yr olds and a 8 yr old boy would mind some ruffles?:lmao:

I think it looks great! If you want to add Tink to it cool if not still perfect!

Oh my! Where is there still a Hancock's? I used to hit the one by Gwinnett and the other over by Northpoint!

I forgot Hobby Lobby, there is one by the Mall of GA, they just seem to never have great bargains!

Those 3 cities, well especially Alpharetta and Roswell are a NIGHTMARE to try and get to from here anymore! When I lived in Suwanee it wasn't nearly as bad, but I just need a good cut across road that isn't stop light after stop light filled with non stop traffic!
Jessica you are in Atlanta too? Well I used to be in Atlanta I am now outside Chicago but to me Atlanta is home. My ids were born there and my parents still live there. I hope SOON we will be back there! So if you find some good finds let me know I will sed my mom to get them for me:cool1:
Yippee my parents fly in to night for the weekend! The kids are so excited to see Mema and pa! Ok so am I but I can't let them know because that would ruin my rep as the bratty kid. Wait my little brother has that role now:rotfl:

A few yrs ago last minute I was able to get friends of ours in(family of 4) at the Princess breakfast in Norway.
I also talked to a CM when I was making ressies for CRT and CP for one morning and we weren't sure if the guys would be ok with taking 4 boys wit out us girls so we could go to CRT with Nikki and the CM said adding or deleting one more wasn't too big of a deal. It could be because of the amount of people but I am not sure. I would call and check it can't hurt. I wish you luck!

I have done it twice. First I called DD to see if I could add them to the ADR- and everything was booked , so I would've lost the ressie if I'd tried to add her. The CM told me just to ask at the restaurant- so I did. All you have to do is tell them you had an friend unexpectedly join you and is it possible to get a table that can sit 3 instead of 2. Just be nice about it- and leave a nice tip for the favor received. They were more then accommodating. You may have to wait a little longer- or you may not. But don't hesitate to ask- they'll be very nice about it. Good LUCK!

Hi all! I have not been able to catch up! Everyone has been so busy and all of the BIG GIVE outfits look great!

My parents are coming this weekend, so I have been busy getting ready for them. And trying to keep the kids busy at the same time.

I almost have DD's outfit done for the parade Friday. It has taken longer than it should...made a few crazy mistakes!:headache: And I ran out of elastic so now I have to run to Wal-mart today.

But the good news...I am going out to eat with DH tonight for our ANNIVERSARY!!! 8 Years!!! Yipee!   (It's actually Sunday, but we thought we would take advantage of my parents being here!) We are going to MY favorite place, The Melting Pot! YUM!!!!! We go there every year except last year because of crazy family stuff:headache: (drama, drama, drama) so I am really looking forward to this! Plus, since we have moved we have not been out to eat just the two of us! That's 9 months!!!!

I'll try to post pics of the new outfit this afternoon.
