Ariel dress #2

I finished my oldest daughter's Ariel dress. I need to shorten the straps on top, but other than that, it's finished!

And here they are together-

I'm very happy with both the dresses, but am so tired of that Ariel material!! :rotfl: I can't wait to get started on a different print, and a different type of outfit!

I love this and i do NOT think it looks like pj's!
Thanks!

I know that I posted this dress before but now I have some pics with a model. This is Megan (one of Parker's BFF's from preschool )and she is now the proud owner of the dress.

It looks great on and what a great model!

So, I got to go to Hobby Lobby today, woo hoo! But, I found they were more expensive than Walmart, and Walmart actually has a bigger selection. I didn't find everything I was looking for, but thankfully they had some Minnie material. They also had some remnant pirate material and I was glad to find that. Here is a picture of my stash!

I also found some remnant Tulle, so I snatched it up and made youngest dd a tutu. She didn't know what to think of it! It was my first try and if you look closely, it's very sloppy and pretty bad looking :rotfl2: but my 14 month old loves it, so that's all that counts! ;)

I got the animal prints to make my oldest daughter's Animal Kingdom outfit. She wants to be a cheetah and have her face painted too. What a sight she'll be! ;) I can't wait to get started on it!

Great finds! Love the red on red Mickey.

Another great job! They look so cute together!!!

I can't imagine sewing an entire outfit by hand. I didn't like sewing the buttons on my Aline top-when I use "regular" buttons I even sew those on by machine.

OOOh I love the new fabric you picked up. I'm trying to avoid JoAnn for a couple of weeks ;)

Quick Question for those that appliqué. Do you use stabilizer? Sometimes I don't need to, but I want to try a t-shirt and I am think I most definitely will need to.

I use stabilizer on everything. I prefer iron on tear away stabilizer.

Like Shannon, I use stabilizer on everything, even denim. I wouldn't attempt to do a tee without it. I use Sulky Totally Stable iron on/tear away. In my experience, the tight stitching for appliqués can really cause fabric to get wavy even on wovens as thick as denim.

I use it on most things. Jeans I do not. Tshirts, most of the time. I can get away with not using it on some of the things.

Went to walmart tonight, DH's walmart is getting rid of their fabric dept and it is one of the few left within an hour, actually I only know of 1 other, and so I spent $130 on fabric! I am about to have no where to buy fabric!!!

Big Give 1 outfit!!

and being modeled by Zofia who is a tad smaller than Isabelle... (hopefully these will be Capri's on her)

Do you think it needs something else? Maybe "T I N K" appliqued on the leg? Or just leave it?

THIS is really cute! I love the simplicity of it, and yet it is just plain cute! I think if you wanted to add "TINK" to the leg, it would be cute, but I think it's fine without as well.

Jessica, I guess you are just going to have to drive down here to Alpharetta, Roswell & Sandy Springs to do your fabric shopping at JoAnn's, Hancock's and Hobby Lobby.

Oh my! Where is there still a Hancock's? I used to hit the one by Gwinnett and the other over by Northpoint!

I forgot Hobby Lobby, there is one by the Mall of GA, they just seem to never have great bargains!

Those 3 cities, well especially Alpharetta and Roswell are a NIGHTMARE to try and get to from here anymore! When I lived in Suwanee it wasn't nearly as bad, but I just need a good cut across road that isn't stop light after stop light filled with non stop traffic!

I am actually split between two Hancock's -- one in Roswell toward Marietta and one in Sandy Springs.

I really like this! I think it is perfect the way it is. TINK would be cute but not if you had to tear it open to get it on. Fine without it.

What size pattern did you use and how long did you make the capri's and waist? I am hoping mine fits Isabelle. I didn't sew shut the waist yet so to anyone who sent her something, I cut my elastic 20 inches, 3 shorter then her measurement.. But when it fit my umm, model :rolleyes1 , so well, I was a bit worried, but not all kids are built the same right!

Is the one in Roswell on 92 (is that even the name of the road) where that new super target is, okay, well new 10 years ago! Where does time go! Although Sandy Springs is probably easier. I think I'll go check out their website. Good for a day venture, not a run out and buy fabric adventure though. I loved running 2 minutes to wally world or calling DH and asking him to get me whatever, he got quite good at fabric shopping for me!

Forgive my dumbness but isn't 92 the road that goes to Woodstock?

Yes! And people ask me all the time the #'s of roads and I have no idea and I love right next to half of them! That is probably one of the few #'s I know.

Okay, that is not where I am talking about. I am talking about Roswell Road that heads toward Marietta, it is in the East Cobb area.

I used a size 6. I also cut the elastic around 20"... i think it should fit OK. At least I hope it does!!
