Here is the outfit I made Lily yesterday. I love the way the easy zig zag applique turned out. These are her Megan pants.

Luke did not want to be left out of the photos. He is wearing his pirate pants I made him a couple of days ago.

He has a new pose: :sad2:

IMG_0807-1-1.jpg

Lily's new outfit is darling! I am the biggest fan of the easy zigzag (is that what you called it). It is the first style I saw on ebay one time when I actually liked something and I kind of use it. I go back and forth alot with tighter and then loose. For some reason to me it gives it more character.

Oh my gosh, that sounds so cute!!! I couldn't see the "I" too well, so I was wondering what that was! I'm sure we'll see some pictures of it being modeled soon!

Lily's Megan pants are absolutely adorable!!! Do tell me about this easy zig-zag applique! Do you just do it like a regular applique with the stitches farther apart? Does it fray around the edges?

There's my little Lukey (as Tessa calls him)! I love his new pose! The picture of both of them together is SOOO sweet! Tessa made him a few little things and now she wants to write him a letter. Then, we'll get it in the mail.

The edges shouldn't fray at all. Mine don't. I can't quite tell how far apart they are IRL but I have never had an issue and go as wide as 7 or is it long, either way, on my machine without any fraying!

I just finished this tee for Zoe. She decided on our recent DLR trip that Jasmine is her current favorite princess - I think mostly because Jasmine wears pants. LOL This gave me a chance to see how well I did drawing her hands. I think they look OK but I might tweak them for the next princess.

jasmine_peek1.jpg

I also have done these tees in my continuing effort to use up some of the tees I've accumulated. I've been wanting to try some of the dwarfs since I've never done them so this was a fun chance to experiment.

Love them! I think we must have the same never ending tshirt supply! I bet I have 30 here in Dallas' size alone in different colors and styles!

Good afternoon all! I am not sure if any of you remember me...I am a "window shopper" mainly, but have posted a few times. I am so excited and had to share...I ordered my very own sewing machine today from Wally World and it should be here next week!

Hopefully I will have some creations to share soon! Everyone on here makes such beautiful things and you have all inspired me to sew for my girls. I will be getting some patterns from ycmt when I get home tonight and am on my home computer. I can't wait!:cheer2:

Whoo hoo! Can't wait to see your creations!

Here is what I made for the kids this week with my new sewing machine.

It is supposed to have a button on the back but I haven't tried a buttonhole (ever) and I was afraid I would mess the outfit up.

I wish all patterns ran the same. I made this a size 3 (she wears a 5T or 4/5 in a shirt and it is too big in the top. If she isn't careful, it will be hanging off one shoulder. At least she will be able to wear it for a while, I'll just need to pick up some more of this fabric to keep in the stash so I can add some tiers to it as it gets shorter.

Just darling! Love them together!

I thought I would share some pics from my recent beach trip. We had a great trip and there were so many great pics but I am just posting some of the custom photos. Here are the kids in their beach customs:

Roseanna and friends on beach with Russell being very uncooperative for the pic (he wouldn't look and was always running away) I found this great polo that coordinated with the dresses

Isn't it amazing how different outfits look when out and about vs in the house! These were so cute when I saw pictures posted before but with the kids together and on location they are to die for! Fab!! For real, I am loving these! Something about when I see a brother/sister set, I just LOVE it!

They are great! Where do you guys get all of these Tshirts?

First off, let me say that all of you are sooo talented! I found this thread a couple of weeks ago, but normally I'm a lurker (as you can tell by my post count)! I've been a sewer since I was a teenager - cross-stitch, smocking, etc. But life got in the way and I haven't done as much lately as I would like to, but you guys have inspired me! I got Carla's bowling shirt pattern and made my DS4 a wall-e shirt, but I don't think I have enough posts yet to show you the picture. I'll probably be doing things for him and nieces and nephews, because my girls are now 13 and 9, and probably won't wear twirly skirts anymore! Thanks for being such a great group!

Welcome!!

OMGosh, you people are amazing!!! I'm from the Wish Trippers Unite! thread, and I didn't even know about this thread until yesterday when I learned of what you are doing for Heather's kids!!! I'm so excited because my family will be at Give Kids the World Village for the first two days of Heather's trip, and I'm going to be looking to see those cute outfits on her kids in person!!! Kudos for what you are doing. You do beautiful work with your hands and your hearts!!! xoxo

Glad to see you visiting us. Hope you stay around and visit more often!

Open a thread and post a bunch of empty's. Can't wait to see your creations.

I was inspired to begin sewing after seeing boutique Dis dresses on ebay......

I have been at it for about three weeks and I am HOOKED! I'll never know why it took 36 years to figure out sewing was such a fantastic thing to do!

Glad your hooked! I had stopped sewing for years, but going to Disney and having someone to sew for has made it fun.

What cute outfits and wonderful photos!

They are great! Where do you guys get all of these Tshirts?

I get most of mine from Old Navy but some are from Wal Mart. I'm a sucker for the "2 for X" deals even if I only need one. It's hard to not pay $5 for a tee instead of $6.50 even though it means I end up spending more money. I also stock up when they clearance at the end of a season. That's actually when I got most of the tees I'm using now - I've had them for almost a year and realized I kept adding to the stash but not really using much from it.

Here is the Peter Pan outfit, check out the sharpie on the map! I had decided to make this right before our trip and didn't leave me enough time to finish the little detail! I must say though it doesn't stop people from loving it or wanting to buy it right then and there! I have had it on Dallas' top bed waiting to be fixed up for 2 years now!

I too was not about to ruin hours and hours of work with the face and had no time for anything so drew it in for the time being! How silly!

This also has the loose stitches jham was just talking about.

Same here, LOVE old navy best but we don't live too near one, when I am there and need one I always buy 2 no matter what. Walmart is my run to source and actually like the quality of all the ones I have used this year, including the few garanimals which I used to not be able to stand!

Welcome! Can't wait to see your shirt.

How hard would it be to add a lining to a pattern that doesn't call for a lining. I have a butterick bowling shirt pattern already so i can't justify buying the YCMT pattern but I like the idea of the shirt being lined.

http://www.fjoelner.dk/vismonster.asp?vare=12384&la=uk
I
think you could do it but the placket might be tricky.

Oooh...is it computerized? I'm very jealous of people with nice new sewing machines that aren't from the 80s!!! ;)
Me too!!!!

I've been naughty and bought some fabric ready for our trip in December. Its patchwork fabric so wasn't cheap (well to you guys - as long as the customs men don't see it, it is for me :) )

Its called smores

I've bought this and the co-ordingating fabric and plan on making the stripwork jumper.
So cute! Can't wait to see your jumper!

Here is what I made for the kids this week with my new sewing machine.

Thanks for the congrats! It is computerized...it is the Brother CE5000 PRW. I hope I like it! I do not know anyone with this brand IRL...just you ladies here. My mom has my Great-grandmother's sewing machine...the kind that is attached to the sewing cabinet. It needs to be cleaned and have maintenance done on it, so in the meantime she bought a Janome. She is making costumes for my girls for our trip. My MIL has a Janome embroidery machine she uses for all of her sewing and is making some outfits for the girls. Now, hopefully I can contribute to what they are wearing as well, even if it is just pajama bottoms.:rotfl2:

I have 2 great "teachers" so hopefully this new endeavor will not be a disaster!
Congrats on your new machine!

If those are pj's I want them! LOL Very nice!

Ok what is a placket? remember i am still a VERY newbie to sewing!
I may have my mom look at the pattern when she comes tomorrow and see if I can get her to make a lining template.

Doesn't look like PJ's to me. I think it's adorable.
Thanks!

Thanks! I actually would like PJ's out of that fabric.

The placket are the pieces were the buttons and buttonholes are. The great thing about the YCMT pattern is you do the buttonholes on the placket before you attach it to the shirt so if you mess up you can just make a new placket and not have to rip the shirt apart.

The separate placket on the YCMT pattern is what makes lining the shirt so easy.

thanks! I never ended up putting buttons on my last shirt to nervous! :scared1: Ok need to research plackets and see if i can make them for this pattern to add or play with the pattern. As I type this i have an idea! that always happens here. I can't figure out something I ask you guys adn I figure something out in the middle of writing back! :cool1:

Ok need to finish the dress i am making now then start the shirt again and see if I can figure it out!

You guys rock! I can't believe how much I have learned from all of you in this past few weeks! I am still no where near as talented as you all but you make me want to keep it up and get better to prove you you al I can sew too!

Thank you all also for really taking me in as one of your own you gals are wonderful! I feel like I found a home with people who LOVE Disney as much as I do AND found a new hobby that I can share!

I know that I posted this dress before but now I have some pics with a model. This is Megan (one of Parker's BFF's from preschool )and she is now the proud owner of the dress.

I feel the same way minnie2! :grouphug:

How cute!!

So, I got to go to Hobby Lobby today, woo hoo! But, I found they were more expensive than Walmart, and Walmart actually has a bigger selection. I didn't find everything I was looking for, but thankfully they had some Minnie material. They also had some remnant pirate material and I was glad to find that. Here is a picture of my stash!

July2032.jpg

July2033.jpg

I also found some remnant Tulle, so I snatched it up and made youngest dd a tutu. She didn't know what to think of it! It was my first try and if you look closely, it's very sloppy and pretty bad looking :rotfl2: but my 14 month old loves it, so that's all that counts! ;)

July2035.jpg

I got the animal prints to make my oldest daughter's Animal Kingdom outfit. She wants to be a cheetah and have her face painted too. What a sight she'll be! ;) I can't wait to get started on it!
