I think someone was working on some cards - index sized or 4 x 6 maybe that they had characters printed on. I can't find it and can't remember details. If you're still here would you mind sharing the information again. I thought that was such a great idea.

That sounds like a lot of fun Karen!! The recipe booklet you put together intrigues me!! I love that sort of thing! We use to make a lot of things like that for the kids at the daycare. It's such fun!

You are funny! Rotary Cutter Anxiety! I LOVE my rotary cutter, I use it for everything, I VERY rarely use my scissors anymore. It doesn't make my stuff look better though. But, it really does speed things up a lot, so you can get more done, so that you can use up your fabric stash, and then have a really great excuse to buy more! :thumbsup2

Right now at our Walmart they have a really nice looking one on clearance for $7. It keeps calling to me, although I don't need a new one! I bought a nice big mat at Joanns a few months ago for $10 on clearance. Be aware though, that most of the mats STINK!!! REALLY STINK! Like a skunk! I think the ones that are sort of clear don't stink so much, but the ones that are a solid color are really smelly! (If you are ever walking through Joann's and think you smell a skunk, you are probably right by the cutting mats!)
]

I have lots of sewing anxieties!:rotfl: I went to Joanns yesterday to check some cutters, mats and rubfflers out. Well Joanns said they don't sell the rufflers except for the viking machines they sell so I will have to get mine either on the net of at the little store in town. No mats or cutters on clearance. I did find a set by Fiskers and I was trying to convince ever so nicely to DH that I needed this and well he just kept saying I just bought you a Disney Timeshare so I figure now is not the time to push it. :lmao: So it goes on my list of sewing things to get! Problem I am the least pateint person :confused3

I got a rotary cutter as a gift but haven't bought the mat yet. For small stuff I use a cutting board that is hanging on the kitchen wall to hide our remodeling mistake ;)
LOL that is funny and exactly like something I would do!

Here is the beginning of my latest. It's cut out to be a halter top, but you never know....:rotfl:
I'm still having trouble with faces...faces and fingers...I don't know what it is...oh well. I like it. I think you can tell who they are...:lmao: since this was my only day off, I don't know when I will get to finish it..Hopefully this week.

I love the outfits! I was just thinking I wonder what I can make for DS next! Now I might make Buzz short and TRY I stress TRY to applique one of the Buzz pics on to a Tshirt.

This is me:cool1: and this is my kids:confused3 ...

To them...no big deal...but I just learned how to make a ruffle!!!!! I am so excited...i have always been so scard of that thing...but now...:cool1: Oh what the heck...in my book that deserves:banana:

I know many of you can and have done this...but I am so happy and I don't have anyone to share with at the house...

Love everything...I'm busy making a really cute outfit for the 4th parade next weekend. Can't wait to share...it is turning out so cute.:goodvibes
:worship: :worship: Another thing I need to learn how to do! UGH Ruffles! ok maybe I will try making a ruffle something next or maybe applique... so confused :rotfl:
Did you use a ruffler foot or the old fashioned way?
Send me some good sewing vibes....I'm about to get my new machine out of the box and give it a whirl! (It has been sitting in the box since I got it June 2nd -- I've been to askeered!)

Good luck! Have fun!

here's something I made today:

It is so pretty!
Who was it that was having a cupcake theme party? I don't know you've had the party already or not, but I saw these on another message board today and they are sooooooo stinkin cute, I thought I'd post them anyway!

It's a baking blog and here's a picture from her blog:

and here's her site with the instructions: http://bakerella.blogspot.com/2008/04/make-your-cupcakes-pop.html

I'm going to be making some for Caleb's preschool teachers for his last day.
they look YUMMY! I wonder if it would work with a gluten free cake mix... I might have to try them for my dd!

As you can see i have far too any things i want to try new! Maybe i need to write them all down and put them in a hat and take my pick! :lmao:

Hi! :yay: Here is one of two 4th of July outfits for the girls to wear to the fireworks and carnival we have near our home. DD4 requested a long (to her ankles) dress....yikes....and she got it....does it look ok soooo long??? Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that its a combination 4th of July/Ragedy Ann and Andy outfit from one of those make-a-books. So its sort of red, white and blue too! ;)

Pointing at the ice cream man coming by! :rotfl:

A curtsey: :flower3: princess:

IMGP5932.jpg

Now I have until Thursday night to make an entire 2nd outfit for DD3! ::yes:: Here she is in her favorite PJ's :rotfl2: Don't you just love freshly bathed children!!!!! :cool1: :thumbsup2

IMGP5937.jpg

Love it! your DD looks so happy in it! I love Raggedy ann and andy as a kid!

Ok, here it is, my dress-shirt! :rotfl:

I worked all day on this and like I said in my previous post, I'm now going to follow patterns and my mom is giving me her sewing machine, woo hoo!

IMG_5987.jpg

IMG_5988.jpg

I used the green trim because it was all I could find! It came out too short for a dress, so it's now a shirt! :)

I went to the store today and bought 2 patterns and some material, I'm going to work on those this coming week.

It was so overwhelming today looking at materials, I didn't know where to start! So I bought enough to make each of my girls an outfit and have some left over to start a stash.

Renae

It came out so cute! I feel you on the going to a fabric store and getting overwhelmed. That was me a few weeks ago. Now i am thinking these girls have me hooked and i am running out of material. I need to just suck it up and go buy a bunch to get me going. It is addicting isn't it?!?!?!?!?:cool1:

Teresa or Heather Sorry I can't remember which one's trip report this was in so I figure I would post it here. Sorry. One of you gave your DD the Disney pix click camera? I remember seeing the pics ad they were so cute. Nikki has the High School musical one and we lost the disc to add the characters oh well. Any way does the battery die on your right away? Nikki's only seems to last a very short time.

My mom was toying with getting Kyle the cars one for his bday but if it keeps dying like that maybe we should forget it.

Seriously Michelle! You are quite talented to be able to "mindread quotes" before they are even made :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: You quoted my post before I even posted it...amazing! :wizard:

JK...thanks very much!

Castle...love those stepsisters and I can't wait to see the finished masterpiece!

Cheeseball...very cute dress and DD....whoo hooo :cool1: on the new machine .... see....your addicted now just like the rest of us!

Glad to hear about the Wall E movie....I actually have a GNO planned for the second week of July (girls night out). Maybe we can see it then??

Very cute Wall E outfits too! Course I won't be wearing one myself....;)

I've always had a sixth sense you know ;) :rotfl: :lmao:

Just a quick little note...as while it is a standing tradition to give a shameless plug...

I started a TRIP REPORT...

How's that?

:worship: :worship: Another thing I need to learn how to do! UGH Ruffles! ok maybe I will try making a ruffle something next or maybe applique... so confused :rotfl:
Did you use a ruffler foot or the old fashioned way?

First I was using the ruffler...it is still hard for me...then I tried using my gathering foot. I will be doing the ruffles with for the current dress with the gathering foot until I get more comfortable with the ruffler. I really blame it all on my 1950's sewing mahine...:rotfl:

Here is the beginning of my latest. It's cut out to be a halter top, but you never know....:rotfl:

MAKE A WISH BIG GIVE

I finished Hannah's Bullseye dress last night.
DSC09895_456x480.jpg

I think the part that took me the longest was trying to find a good picture of Bullseye to use as a pattern for the applique. I ended up using a screen shot from the dvd.

DSC09897_330x480.jpg

I also made a little dress for her doll or stuffed animal.

DSC09896_581x480.jpg

I was hoping to find a more girly cowgirl (or "call girl" if you've read my trip report) fabric, but I couldn't find what I was looking for. Hopefully she'll like it!

I was going to post this last night, but the boards were down for maintenance. :faint:

OH that's so cute Heather. That would also be good if someone is going to Mickey's BYBBQ.

That is SO cute! I just got the fabric for Logan's Lightning McQueen outfit. I posted last night, but it must've been just as the boards went down :headache: (or maybe it will eventually show up in some random location:worship: ) Sorry I've been absent for a couple of days. As usual there has been some amazing stuff posted! I have been  and doing another local boutique with Jen/Sugarbees. It was fun. I even managed to make more money than I spent! :rolleyes1 I made some bracelets also this time.

So DH nixed the weekend at the waterpark resort. He's not a planner, and by the time he decided we should make a reservation - guess what? No availability!! Men can be so frustrating!!!

So I told him that while he's away I'm taking the kids to Buffalo for some cross border shopping. (I have to travel with documents stating I'm authorized to take the kids to the US!!) Anyhoo - it's like commando shiopping, because I only have one day to go to Joann's/Wal-Mart/Target/Supermarket/Oulet Mall. With two kids. Mmmm, maybe I should go alone on July 1st when DH has a day off. Anyhoo again - does Joann's have Disney Christmas fabric right now? I noticed there's a Christmas in July sale, and I would love to get some Mickey Christmas fabric for our upcoming trip.

Thanks for your help!

Stephanie

That is so cute. I love the combination of fabrics. That redish one is really pretty.

It's a lot of work, but I really enjoy doing it- and now that I have the coveted CRICUT EXPRESSION (yeah me!!) it's made it much easier. Decorations are a breeze and everyone really appreciates the work you put into it. Oh............ and speaking of the Cricut... I have 4 (yes- count them) FOUR Disney cartridges that have character die cuts and the Disney Font for letters! Makes great stuff for autograph books, scrapbooking etc. Maybe I'll put some together and post them- have you seen them yet??

OOHHH... Cricut Expression and 4 Disney cartridges!!! I'm jealous! I did finally buy the basic Cricut and one Disney cartridge last month. I finally pulled it out of the box yesterday but still haven't tried it out :lmao:

I'm going to be making some for Caleb's preschool teachers for his last day.

Those are so cute!! I'm going to have a cupckae themed party for Megan's birthday in December. Those would make cute guest gifts. I have also been thinking about making individual cupcakes in 1/2-pint mason jars for guest gifts (saw it on a blog also.)

I have the large Cupcake pan you used for your daughter's party, but haven't tried it out yet. I also bought the smaller version last week... tried it out a couple of days ago and it was a BIG MESS!! I couldn't get the cake out of the pan. I ended up having to scoop it out with my fingers and threw away all of the cake. I did use a cake mix that I had never tried before and I think it was too soft... at least that's they story I'm going with :rotfl: I bought cake mix this weekend to give it another try!

I'm so excited... I think I have an upcoming WDW trip to plan for!!! My mom and I have been talking about doing the Princess 1/2 Marathon in March. The trip will be just the two of us, and we will not stay too long (probably 4 days) but Mom has never been to WDW. Now to come up with some non-clothing things to make for us!

Wait, wait, wait...let me get this straight...you threw the cake out? What!?! You know...you could have made a triffle, stuck in the freezer for "one of those days"...NEVER throw cake out!:rotfl:

Wish I had thought of keeping the cake for something else! I think I was just so frustrated that I couldn't think beyond the mess I'd made in the kitchen.

My Joanns had Christmas fabric, but not Disney Christmas fabric. My Joanns is pretty pathetic though. Maybe 15 bolts of disney fabric.
