It is a great dress...and the best part was that I won it on :wizard: for $17...what a steal.

I have an idea...eat at 1900 Park Fare twice and make both outfits :) (can you tell that I love 1900 PF!!!!)

You're not going to believe this... we've never eaten at 1900 park fair, and never even considered it, honestly. I'm really excited about it now, but the whole thing came about because I was on the phone with dining trying to get ADR's and the lady on the phone said, "OH! 1900 park fair is available! You should do that! It's very hard to get!" That's all it took.

It's actually one of our favorites. The food is really good and the Mad Hatter is HILARIOUS (hint: he will steal your tea!). We were so disappointed when it closed last year for refurbishment. I missed my strawberry soup! But we'll be back this year.

Anyone have any ideas for a snow white dress/outfit? DD's favorite princess is Snow White. She dressed up as Snow White last year but I'd rather not do the regular costume again.

A friend of mine just made one. She made a blue peasant top & added red ribbon to the sleeves & then bought a yellow skort. It's pretty cute & very nice for a summer/early fall trip.

WOO HOO! Guess what I'm doing? I'm on the phone reserving our next trip! September 19-28!

Yes, it is sooner than we thought, but we couldn't stand it any longer! We're trying to get in on free dining, too! Let the sewing begin!

That's not fair! ;) I'm so ready for another trip. Even my sisters have mentioned that they want to go again soon but it will have to wait since one doesn't have any vacation time, the other is expecting her first grandchild and I don't have the disposable income. :rotfl:

The sidewinder works great!

Much faster than doing it on the sewing machine, and I don't have to stop midstream to rethread the machine! Now if it only had a remote control, I would be all set!:rotfl:

Oh, I've looked at those and wondered if they were worth the money/space. There are so many gadgets that are available but too often I end up not using them. I do think this is one that would be used a lot.

Now, to decide what to do. I LOVE the Mary Poppins w/ carousel horses idea. I love the Alice idea. We're not going to have the opportunity to see Pooh & friends anywhere else, so that would be great too. What's a girl to do?

Do them all! There's no rule that says an outfit must be strictly for one character or group of related characters. :hyper: You could make a gored skirt/dress with characters on some of the panels. For example, one panel could be Pooh, another Alice with a third Mary (on a carousel horse).

I’m looking at getting an embroidery machine and of course want a Disney one. Does anyone have this machine or know anything about it? It’s on Amazon, regularly $499 on sale for $329.99 plus free shipping.

There’s also a Disney machine at Walmart, which I think people have said isn’t very good. Is the one at Amazon the same as the one at Walmart? I don’t want to spend the money only to find out it’s junk. Any recommendations? Also, do I need a quality computer for an embroidery machine? Can you tell I know NOTHING about these machines?

Thank you helpful ladies & Tom!

So I have finally managed to take a picture of the JoJo shirt I made last night. It is for our Sept trip to WDW, we will be dining at Hollywood and Vine. I haven't figured out what to do for the skirt yet. I can't find the daisy kingdom stripes I wanted to use so I just have to find something else in place of it. It was my first pieced together applique and man did I make a huge mistake but I won't point it out. The Minnie outfit was from our trip to the P&P Party. Hopefully my next applique will turn out better. Poor JoJo's hands are totally screwed up but if someone actually wants to point it out to me I might just have to V8 thump them.

That is all really adorable! JoJo looks perfect! I love the bag and cup! That is next on my list. I kind of forgot I got some sippy's to make cute cups for disney, not that we need them, but they were too cute to pass up!

I am almost 100% positive that is the same one from Wal-Mart. I was told by several different Wal-Marts that they were discontinuing that one and were replacing it with the SE350. It is $379.97. I actually got this machine for my b'day 2 weeks ago but haven't taken it out of the box yet. It is on my agenda for this week.

Hey! There's a thought! I could make it an England theme... Tower of London... Pooh... Alice... Mary Poppins

The biggest advice I have about embroidery machines is buy the biggest hoop size that you can afford. It doesn't matter what size you get, you'll want a bigger one within months. :rotfl2:

I think JoJo looks great! When in September are you going to be there? I was able to move around a few reservations so we're going to Hollywood & Vine too! I'll be thinking about that custom soon, I suppose!

I am not sure about the smaller one. I have a different one, the 2002D and I love it but it sews and has 3 hoops, one being larger. That being said, I don't like or use the embroidery part, I just sew with it. At first it was fun to embroider here and there but I much prefer to hand piece and hand applique.

Mary Poppins is always out in the lobby at 1900 Park Fare (in her Jolly Holiday outfit) while Alice, Mad Hatter, Pooh, Eeyore, and Tigger are in the actual restaurant. Again as someone else mentioned, they are there for breakfast. Cindy is there for dinner. Make sure to have strawberry soup YUM!!! Here is my DD 2 years ago at 1900 PF. Alice and the Mad Hatter made a HUGE deal out of her.

The dress is not a custom...it was made by the Disney Co. The Apron is embroidered with the rabbit and says "hello, goodbye, I'm late" The 2nd picture is the best pic I have of the design.
I remember someone was going to buy that on Ebay about a year ago. Did you sell it? It would be funny if someone on here bought it! That is soooo cute!! Your daughter looks adorable in it!
I haven't had time to go back through the posts and see what all I've missed BUT just wanted to say I'm here, back to work and feeling better (cot completely but considerably) Also new and exciting news. My mom and dad have decided to plan a trip to the world in July for the kids (my son/daughter/newphew) birthdays and my sister said her boyfriend hasn't ever been so they'd like to go so now it is a family trip. it'll only be one park and an overnight stay (I'm fighting for on site, we'll see what happens) BUT I am SOOOO excited. B has a gig in Orlando in Aug. and we planned on spending the weekend at wdw then so this is a nice bonus trip. It also means that I no longer have to be torn between using up some of my minnie dot or doing a cindy outfit ala JHAM for our MK day. It will be too hot this summer for the zumas so I will make a minnie dress for our summer trips. WOOHOO.. I am UBER excited. I love WDW!!!

...t.

Glad you are feeling better Tifani! How nice of your Mom and Dad to plan a trip like that! You guys will have fun! Now, get busy on Lily's outfit!

This is the same one that is at Walmart. The last I saw it was on clearance for $169.

Hi Chantell, if you already have a good sewing machine, Brother makes an excellent embroidery only machine called the PE750D. It has built in Disney embroidery and also has extra Disney designs available. It embroiders beautifully and of course there are tons of other designs as well.
It's very nice to being sewing on my Viking while the Brother embroiders. This machine does cost 2x what you posted BUT Brother is coming out with a totally new machine this Fall which tells me that there should be a HUGE sale on their other models. Call your local dealer now and look into it because now that Brother has announced the new machine, seamstresses know that they can get great deals .

I am so taken aback by the pure talent on the thread. AMAZING!:scared1: Does anyone ever sell their creations after their child has grown out of them? I have two little girls ages one and a half and almost four that LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE DIsney and dressing pretty:) If you have anything, please let me know:)

I knew i was forgetting something Revrob Congrats on booking your trip for September!!!!!! :cool1:

What is the scoop on this free dinning? Now that we have signed out life away to our DVC i was debating maybe next yr doing the free dinning? How far in advance do they announce it? When is it usually happen? September?

I believe you have to pay for a room to get the free dining--so if you wanted to book with member cash, you'd be eligible, but not if you book with points. :) The past couple of years, it has been late August through about September 20.

Can I say I LOVE LOVE LOVE that minnie bracelet!! Where did you get it, I'd love to have one for Lily's birthday (the weekend we'll be at MK!!!)

thanks! So I guess shelling out 20k for a dvc isn't spending money these days :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

MINNIE2 - I missed your question earlier. Sorry.
I do believe that Annacp is correct. You have to pay for a room to be eligible for the free dining program. That's why we're staying in a non DVC resort this time. What we are planning to do is rent or transfer our points for this year, and use that money to pay for our package. That will help equal out the expense.
