Here are a couple of pictures of our precious new baby girl.
This was taken just a few minutes after she was born.

My husband's grandmother knit that sleeper about 28 yrs ago for a family friend when they had their first baby girl. Five years ago, when the friend heard we were expecting for the first time, she dug out the sleeper and gave it to us. Each of our children has worn it to come home from the hospital.
Bryce was very close to his grandmother so it's extra special to us. Grandma passed away about 12 yrs ago but we have several things she knitted for our babies, years before my dh and I ever met. She left him a box full of little things she had handmade, each with a label in her own handwriting, for the great-grandchild she knew she would never meet.
Many thanks for all the congratulations and the compliments on Adara's name.
Her middle names are taken from two of her great-grandmothers. Hazel was dh's grandma -the knitter- and Antonina was my grandma.

What a beautiful baby!!!!!!!!! Congrats again!!!!!

This is what I did last night, just a simple top and shorts. DH does not think the patterns match but who cares what he thinks (well, I did ask his opinion so it's my fault). And I made a matching shirt for her brother even though he is less than enthusiastic. Question for those who have made this before: would it be ok with one bigger button rather than the two small ones? If I make this again, I think I would rather have one button so it would be easier for small fingers. Opinions?

Again, no model. :( I go up and get them Friday.

I love these. I have a pattern for a round neck top but haven't figured out what fabrics I want to use yet. Love Jacob's shirt too. I may have to CASE this for Michael and Parker!

How cute! I love the shirt. I think the fabric goes fine together.
Here is my Fourth of July outfit. I just found out my sister-in-laws from Dallas are coming for July 4 :yay: I just got Kayla's hair cut today. I was kindof drastic but I love it!!

Sorry haven't had a minute to figure out the multi post feature yet so please bare with me!

I LOVE all the new 4th outfits!

Ok I finished my 1st fully home made dress for Nikki! I liked it until I put the zipper on. Oh well for my 1st zipper I guess it came out ok.

So here it is!

Nikki and our Dog Daisy who had to come outside with us but wouldn't cooperate for a nice picture.

My son now wants a pair of shorts but I don
t have a pattern do you think i could use a pair of shorts that he wears and add a bit for a seam allowance? Or is that to much for a beginner?

You did a great job for a first zipper. I hate zippers! The only thing that reconciled me to the 1,000,000 tiny buttons on my daughter's wedding dress was the fact that there was no zipper!!:rotfl:

So I have finally managed to take a picture of the JoJo shirt I made last night. It is for our Sept trip to WDW, we will be dining at Hollywood and Vine. I haven't figured out what to do for the skirt yet. I can't find the daisy kingdom stripes I wanted to use so I just have to find something else in place of it. It was my first pieced together applique and man did I make a huge mistake but I won't point it out. The Minnie outfit was from our trip to the P&P Party. Hopefully my next applique will turn out better. Poor JoJo's hands are totally screwed up but if someone actually wants to point it out to me I might just have to V8 thump them.

She is beautiful! I LOVE her chubby baby cheeks! I just want to kiss them! I have some baby things my mom knitted before she died. They mean a lot to me!

That Jojo looks great! I bet it is perfect and you are just being modest. I love all your matchy minnie stuff, so cute!

Beautiful baby! I loved the story about the sleeper. My neighbor crocheted a sweater when I was pregnant with Megan and I was almost afraid to put her in it because I didn't want to mess it up; it was so beautiful. Adara looks like a little angel.

They look great! I REALLY need to get going on some 4th of July stuff! I haven't sewn in 2 weeks! Sadly I've been cleaning house and doing laundry instead.

I think it turned out great! And if you want to make your DS some shorts, I SERIOUSLY recommend Carla's easy fit pants pattern from YCMT. You will not regret it. It is my sewing staple!

Jham and Piper, Thanks!

I know I need to get some CarlaC patterns but I was trying to go cheap and DS wants them now! LOL Also when I have looked on the YCMT site there aren't many things in my kids sizes. I could be missing something though.....

That's your first dress? With a zipper :worship: :worship:

Steph - I did DD's round neck top with only one button. I actually like it better with just the one... (Of course, I think she has the top on backwards in these pics.)

I'm anxiously awaiting the call that I'm an auntie again. Mom to be was at 10cms 5 hours ago!!!!! I'm getting really nervous. She's in San Francisco and I'm in Boston so it's not like I can swing by!!!
Hope you hear soon!

Love that top! I think the fabrics look great together! Love the T too!

I didn't sell it. I let my best friend borrow it for her DD for their Disney vaca. However, she ended up cancelling her trip when she found out she was expecting #2. Sadly, she passed away 3 months after #2 was born. So I really don't know what became of it. It's not like there is a nice way to ask her grieving husband about it (or any of my other belongings that remain in her closet!!!)
How sad.

Great job! The zipper looks great!

I too would recommend the Easy Fit pants from YCMT. I was leary to buy it at first but is so wonderful! When you buy it you download it on to your computer so there is no waiting for it.;)

Great first dress!!! I think the zipper looks fine!!

I wonder if I should have made capris because we will be in pennsylvania for the 4th and you never know what the weather is going to be.

Typically its pretty hot and humid here on the 4th - where are you going to be in PA???????

That baby is sooo cute:goodvibes

Love the 4th outfits!!

I have made many pairs of pants ,and shorts from just laying down a pair of them and going around them leaving enough for the seam - worked great!!!

Ok guys this is the last pic of this outfit I promise. I added a peasant blouse b/c we azre going in Nov and I wanted at least some hope of wearing it without a jacket. Is it too much?

I think it's going to be a hit. Now she will be able to wear it no matter what the weather is.

Cute but it looks like the inside is just fabric-not vinal coated? It would be cute out of a big face pillowcase.
