That's funny you say you saw it clearanced b/c I figured it would be clearanced too since Wal-Mart said they were discontinuing it but at the 4 different ones I have seen it at, it is never on sale. I know that each store sets their own price, maybe the south just hasn't clearanced them yet.

Only problem is my DD is questioning why I didn't make her THOSE dresses (especially the Giselle one). Try explaining to a 4 year old that you really aren't up to that level

I was wondering - how do you guys store your patterns that you print out and cut out?

I store all of my patterns in a shoebox sized storage box. When I print out the YCMT patterns, I fold them and put them in a quart sized ziploc bag and write what pattern it is on the outside, along with the sizes I have printed. The quart sized bags are about the same size as the commercial pattern envelopes.

Adorable!!! I wasn't so sure about the different fabric on each leg. But, I LOVE how it looks with this outfit!

Can you believe that girl still does not have a Minnie Dot dress??? Yours looks great!

OH, I forgot to mention, now that I have washed Luke's "Carla bowling shirt" I am sooo happy that it is lined. It just has a really nice feel too it and it did not wrinkle much in the wash. I was feeling lazy about the lining before, (that probably only makes sense to me but now I love it. The whole shirt just feels like a much nicer quality than the other button up shirt I made Luke. Love ya Carla!

I am SO with you on that! I just love the way Sawyer's button-up turned out. It looks so much more finished than the ones I made with commercial patterns (especially after a wash or two).

For those that have been to 1900 Park Fair - I'm trying to decide if I should do a Mary Poppins theme custom, or Alice in Wonderland theme. Which one is going to make for better pictures?

I just wanted to say that I LOVED 1900 Park Fair! It was my favorite meal of our vacation! We went for dinner and had Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother, Prince Charming, Drizella, and Anastasia. No Lady Tremaine for us. The stepsisters were SOOO much fun and the food was GREAT!

I haven't had time to go back through the posts and see what all I've missed BUT just wanted to say I'm here, back to work and feeling better (cot completely but considerably) Also new and exciting news. My mom and dad have decided to plan a trip to the world in July for the kids (my son/daughter/newphew) birthdays and my sister said her boyfriend hasn't ever been so they'd like to go so now it is a family trip. it'll only be one park and an overnight stay (I'm fighting for on site, we'll see what happens) BUT I am SOOOO excited. B has a gig in Orlando in Aug. and we planned on spending the weekend at wdw then so this is a nice bonus trip. It also means that I no longer have to be torn between using up some of my minnie dot or doing a cindy outfit ala JHAM for our MK day. It will be too hot this summer for the zumas so I will make a minnie dress for our summer trips. WOOHOO.. I am UBER excited. I love WDW!!!

to you, too! We're not allowed to talk about selling our creations on the disboards. But, you could try your hand at sewing them yourself. I've only been sewing for almost a year now. I started sewing after I started reading this thread! Come on, give it a try!

Sorry, can't really help with that. I have never seen them in a store. We were at the flea market and this guy had box after box of new ones! I only got 6 because I wasn't sure what I would do with them.

I always sell mine once done. No more to pass them on to, but they are boys and I seem to hold onto them forever. I still have 3T Peter Pan from a LONG time ago that hasn't been worn in 2-3 years! I think most sell them on ebay if they sell them. We aren't allowed to sell on this board.

MINNIE2 - I missed your question earlier. Sorry.
I do believe that Annacp is correct. You have to pay for a room to be eligible for the free dining program. That's why we're staying in a non DVC resort this time. What we are planning to do is rent or transfer our points for this year, and use that money to pay for our package. That will help equal out the expense.

Yep, real money only and at rack rates only! We have done it the past 3 years and LOVED every moment of it though. I am booked this year, but think we are canceling and going 2 weeks later when Dallas has fall break. I am having a hard time justifying pulling him out of school (GA is a pain in the rear end about this type of thing).

My husband's grandmother knit that sleeper about 28 yrs ago for a family friend when they had their first baby girl. Five years ago, when the friend heard we were expecting for the first time, she dug out the sleeper and gave it to us. Each of our children has worn it to come home from the hospital.
Bryce was very close to his grandmother so it's extra special to us. Grandma passed away about 12 yrs ago but we have several things she knitted for our babies, years before my dh and I ever met. She left him a box full of little things she had handmade, each with a label in her own handwriting, for the great-grandchild she knew she would never meet.

I've done breakfast at 1900 Park Fair 3 times and have always seen Pooh, Tigger, Mary Poppins, Alice, Mad Hatter and Wendy. Mary Poppins isn't in her white dress. I think we've always seen Wendy before we go in to breakfast.

Much faster than doing it on the sewing machine, and I don't have to stop midstream to rethread the machine! Now if it only had a remote control, I would be all set!

I haven't figured out what to do for the skirt yet. I can't find the daisy kingdom stripes I wanted to use so I just have to find something else in place of it. It was my first pieced together applique and man did I make a huge mistake but I won't point it out. The Minnie outfit was from our trip to the P&P Party. Hopefully my next applique will turn out better. Poor JoJo's hands are totally screwed up but if someone actually wants to point it out to me I might just have to V8 thump them.

That's so cute. is it a navy blue t-shirt that you sewed light blue sleeves and the cape to???

It's a scoop neck shirt. I used the SW pattern, cut down the collar and attatched it. Sewed a red ribbon up the front. Took the sleeves off and made the pattern sleeves, but to be easier, used red ribbon. The cape I made separate, if she was hot she could take it off. Again, from the pattern and cut down.

Would you have more pics? The outfits you made would be perfect for my nieces because they will not wear the regular Disney costumes. Dis you adapt ready to wear clothes? Thanks!!

Kirsta had been asking for a Princess dress to wear, but I just couldn't see her in a hot dress. She loved the attention she got. The CM kept telling her Princess, I like your summer outfit.

This one was my favorite.

The Cinderella, I wish I attatched the "wings" to the skirt instead of the top, then I might have liked it. The Belle, I wish I didn't make the point on the top. I forgot she likes to shove the waist band under her stomach.

This is for this year. I made it too big I think. I got an early head start and she's really been growing. I ordered a Patch with Mulan and I'll put that on the boring plain side. But it will work. Kirsta likes it. I'm going to do a Lilo, in the hula skirt, I have a skort to modify.

I started my DD8 sewing simple things with my help. She wants a Hannah Montana Bday this year and our local Walmart has the cotton fabric still. So I thought we could make something for all the girls at the party together. Does anyone have any ideas besides a tote bag? I thought about a pillowcase as it will be a sleepover, but at $4 a yard, that is more than I wanted to spend. I love planning the party and doing fun original stuff, so I'm open to almost anything.

Someone beat me to it, I was going to say put a trim on the pillow case. If you go to the Disign boards, you can get someone to make a design that you can iron on a pillow case, a tote bag or something.

Linn, I love that you can make your own pattens. I have to have a pattern first, then I can modity it. Someone here has termed it as a Frankenpattern.

Oh she's beautiful. I'm anxiously awaiting the call that I'm an auntie again. Mom to be was at 10cms 5 hours ago!!!!! I'm getting really nervous. She's in San Francisco and I'm in Boston so it's not like I can swing by!!!

Beautiful baby! I loved the story about the sleeper. My neighbor crocheted a sweater when I was pregnant with Megan and I was almost afraid to put her in it because I didn't want to mess it up; it was so beautiful. Adara looks like a little angel.

I didn't sell it. I let my best friend borrow it for her DD for their Disney vaca. However, she ended up cancelling her trip when she found out she was expecting #2. Sadly, she passed away 3 months after #2 was born. So I really don't know what became of it. It's not like there is a nice way to ask her grieving husband about it (or any of my other belongings that remain in her closet!!!)

I did mine with just one big button on each side. The only thing I would recommend is to make the buttonhole go ACROSS the top instead of perpendicular. I did mine the other way as I was worried that the buttonhole would actually be too big to fit, but it makes it hang lower than it is supposed to... I could "fix" it by moving the button back on the underside, but I'm too lazy...
