Big Give - GoofyDoo Family UPDATE

We still have several spots open for the GoofyDoo Big Give. I realize that the short shipping time is a real problem for lots of people (completely understandable). I'm wondering if it would make a difference if we move the shipping date back to July 21st and asked that anyone shipping later than the 15th to make sure they ship by priority mail? Would that help more to be able to participate?

Do you think it would ever be rude to offer a Mom a "used" custom? I have a couple of outfits I made Kirsta and she only wore them the once in WDW. I'd love to see someone else get some use of it. What do you think? Would it be okay to pm and ask a Mother if she'd mind? Or just save them for my itty bitty neice?

LisaZoe - Do you machine applique all the stitching on the eye, or is some by hand? Also, what pattern do you use... I just love all the space you have on the front for applique.

I know I haven't posted much here, but I am slowly getting into your group. I have sewn my whole life and every year say I am going to make customs for my kids... none get done. This year is different. I have all the fabric purchased and I have already started. My oldest (almost 8) asked if I will post of pic of her in an outfit like all the other moms did (she reads the pages with me sometimes to see all the great designs. I hear... I want that... all the time!!!

I have to ask did you used to watch Another World yrs ago? The whole boa thing reminds me so much of Linda Dano's character Felicia Gallant whom I LOVED!

I am so proud of my dd today! We were at a friends house for a play date and one of the girls there who was 5 said she didn't like princesses ad they were for babies. Well my dd turned around and said ' I LIKE PRINCESSES AND I AM NOT A BABY! then walked away and left it at that! I love my little She told her! Of course the little girl who said that to her is a very sweet kid but I just loved how my dd(8 ) told her!

Back in the day I use to watch AW- but I had forgotten all about Linda Dano's character. Too funny!!

Actually- I don't normally wear the boa. I know... it's probably very disappointing to many here, but it's true. I was dressed up as part of a skit to entertain some teenage girls at a girls camp in this pic.... but I'll still bring my boa if you guys want!

SpongeBob looks great. I agree with the idea that the circles will take away from the applique greatness.

My DH is busy planning a guys-only trip to see football/baseball games in Texas. He also went away twice last year....and where have I gone by myself you ask????....NO WHERE!....so I figure if I can keep the cost under $600, it is doable cause he can't really tell me "No" after going on his own three trips right??? So long story short....GO GO GO!!!!!

I will need to work on him a bit. Although he has mentioned a few times that I should go away just me for a mom-cation. I don't think he was thinking all the way to Orlando but who knows.

Oh wow...three people (snubie, sohappy and twob4him) in a room and the price drops even more....rack rate right now it would be $1305 divided by three is $435 each!!! . This would be room, regular dining (1 counter service, 1 sit down and 1 snack), 3 days of tickets (no hopper or waterpark) and Magical Express. Plus you would have to add 13% tax and insurance if you wanted it. Plus the fact that Disney will raise rates for 2009 but AAA would be a discount probably...but that gives you both an estimate. Oh please oh please work on those DH's while I work on mine ...hahaha ...I am sure you ladies know what I mean

You had to go and figure out the money. Now how can I not "manipulate" my DH into "letting" me go? I should add that I really cannot make a decision right now. We are trying to get pregnant and IF I get pregnant soon, I would be due next Spring so that may impact things.

I figure Heather would applique the tye dye colors on to her shirt.

Very very cute! What does it say in the Mickey head?

I embroidered her name on it. I'm really disappointed becuase it came out off center. I've been looking for a little horse shoe, or sort of cowboy button to "hide" the end. But no luck so far.

At Wal-Mart buying me both prints of the HSM fabric (4 yards of each!)!!!!!!!! Woohoo!!!!!!!!! She said it was price $4.44 at her store in Alabama. I cannot wait to get it b/c these kids will flip when they see it.

Question for all of those that have seen it......Do you think that the print with the actual pictures is too girlish? Michael saw it and said "I want shorts out of that". Since I have only seen a picture of it, I just can't tell. What do you think?

Arrgggg My internet connection went down while I was trying to post this and I am missing everything about the Dismeet now So I am sewing until I get the dumb connection again

I was gonna mention it. I also will have the Disney Dining Experience which will get 20% off food at most locations for up to I think 10 ppl. So, getting rooms w/ my AP and sharing them may work out less than a pkg. deal. W/ the current AP rates I got Coronado Springs for $144 a night. In Feb. I expect better rates. The 4-15th of Feb. is one of the lowest expected attendance levels of the year, so I expect pretty good rates. The only thing is you have to check closer to the date. LMK if you guys wanna look into sharing a couple of rooms.

Oh man, I'm so tempted to jump on this (assuming I'd be welcome ). Is this a ladies only trip or will some be bringing kids? I ask because IF I were to go, it's more likely to happen with Zoe than without. Not that I think I could realistically do the trip since we're in Oregon and flights would add a lot to the total cost. I can dream though....

I think by the end of August which makes no sense since that is less than 180 days, right?? But as someone mentioned...Feb is low attendance...hopefully that is better for us!

Here is the shirt for Clay. I skipped the sponge like circles on him because I really like the way it looks now. Do you guys think that is okay? I was just going to do circles outlined in the gold but afraid it will take away from sponge himself (and that they won't be too circle-y when I am done).

I would love to go in February - I would have to work on DH though! I would be travelling on my own, sans enfants! I usually try to have a "Mummy Only" trip once a year and this year's trip to Boston/Cape Cod was cancelled due to DH's work schedule. So I'd say I was due!!

An Illuminations cruise sounds great. But, I don't know if I'd want to bring Sawyer on something like that. I'd be so busy running around after him, calming him down for being out past his bedtime, etc... I'm kind of hoping we can meet somewhere where all us girls can chat while the kids play. I don't know where that would be, though. But, we could possibly do more than one thing together, too!

I better get started on those Simba appliques. I hope no one minds having a big 'ol hole in the middle of their shirt where I tore the Simba applique to shreds after trying to get the lines to look right for the 100th time!

I am a maybe for February. I would be without kids though. If I brought them, the price would get out of control (and we are planning another trip for September next year anyway). Not sure if I am maybe enough to go on the list though. . . Let me think about it a few days. One plus- being divorced, there is no DH to convince (other than convincing him to keep them a few extra days while I go on vacay)

Oh My I got far behind! Hopefully after next week I will have a bit more time again. Our little new one is such a sweetie but he is still a newborn lol.

I wish you guys were going in DEC! We are going the second week of Dec and DH will never be ok with me turning around and coming back in Feb. Espeically with the fact that some friends of ours are getting married in the spring there and I am trying to talk him into going lol.

James came home early today from work and I got a shirt done for a little girl that I drew her name for a Christmas in July thing we are doing on another board. It is one of the things I am sending to her because she likes Tink. My only thing is I just realized that I did not add eyebrows or eyelashes (what lack of sleep will do to you lol). Do you think I need to go back and do so? I HAVE to get it in the mail tomorrow. I completely forgot about needing to do something for her because of Little D coming.

She really does have a nose too I just did it in pink lol.

Far from perfect but honestly I think it could have been a lot worse lol.
