My friends started their vacation today and are staying at CSR. Where can the go to pick up alcohol.....Vodka, etc? They do not have a rental car. thanks!!!

Not sure about CSR but all the resorts where we've stayed sell small bottles of wine and liquor in their grocery/snack stores. I think it's probably kind of expensive but cheaper than renting a car or taking a taxi off property.

Without a car, their best bet may be to just purchase in the resort gift shop. If they want to spring for a taxi, grocery stores in FL sell beer & wine, and usually there is a liquor store nearby if it's in a plaza. In a few cases, there are liquor stores attached to the grocery store someone else posted in the past (but not all). The big FL liquor store is ABC if they need to search for one.

I think their options would be either, as others have said, either from the resort store or taking a taxi. I think the closest would be to the Winn-Dixie which has an ABC store in the same complex. Another option might be to call someplace like Wegoshop which will deliver groceries and such to the resort.

Take a bus to Downtown Disney.. (the second stop ... NOT the marketplace).

Follow the sidewalks across the street to the Hess station.. Most liquors, beer, mix, snacks... at much more reasonable prices than the resort gift shops.

I always make a trip there to get a case of Coca Cola and some snacks for the room.

Walk back across street .. catch bus back to resort.

What is it near in DTD? I always thought Hess only had beer & wine! I love going down to the states to see their prices- soooo much cheaper.

The Hess near DTD or BWV has fairly good prices on beer, wine and snacks. I don't remember any hard alcohol. Are they checking their bags? If so, they can just buy their alcohol in plastic containers and double wrap it in ziplock bags. If they are into premium vodkas that only come in glass, they can also buy a set of Rum Runners Flasks (http://www.rumrunnerflasks.com/) and decant into one or more of them. I used them for my cruise a few years ago and used them on my last Spring Break trip even though I had a car. I would double ziplock in any case ... they don't want spillage in their suitcase.

AFAIK, hard liquor is not sold at Hess or gas stations in Florida.

You are correct. Hard liquor is NOT sold in convenience stores.. only beer and wine! My error on that one.
