Package or separate booking?

Hi, I like to think I am an educated person but I am struggling to work this out.

I have the brochure for 2009/2010 and am trying to figure it out.

I have been on line and looked at my dates, with a package including the eurostar and just a hotel package and booking the Eurostar separately. (have a nice little spreadsheet set up with all the prices etc)

Doing it separately saves me about £200. Do I miss out on something worth that amount of money if I book separately? How do I get from the station to my hotel?

Now the brochure is the hardest thing to work out. The package they offer including the Eurostar is significantly cheaper than I can get it on line even doing it separately. I can't find anything to say the prices are FROM but maybe I am reading it wrong.

Eurostar also states free travel for children yet because my two are under 4 and we still would like a seat for them, when we select a seat we pay a supplement ?????

Would appreciate any help.

Kirsten

It's usually cheaper to book the Eurostar direct.
You don't get Disney express included, but you can add this on for £15 per adult.

You arrive at the park and the shuttle bus is included no matter what you book.

Prices do go up and down a lot.

Forgot to say kids under 4 go free on the Eurostar and they sit on your lap. However if you want a seat you will have to pay a childs price.

Thank you for your information, I knew this bit but they were saying children under 12 stay, play and travel free so i was kinda wondering why then my two who are under 4 couldn't get free travel? I must be reading it wrong.

I don't fancy having a kid sat on my lap for 2.5 hours.

Taken from the Eurostar website:

Kids under 4 can travel free on Eurostar, as long as they can sit on the lap of an accompanying adult (one infant per adult traveller). If they need their own seat it's probably best to count them as children.

While your kids would travel for free anyway (on lap), I'm not sure where you'd stand with getting free seats for them on the 'kids play and travel free' offer. :confused3 You're probably best calling them.

Even with the stay and play free offer (from Disney) it will still be cheaper to book direct with Eurostar - and the sooner the better as prices only go up not down as each 'layer' of seats are sold. Also if you book direct (I find by phone is best) you can choose your seats, ie choose to be in the family section with a table between the 4 seats. People booking through agents (like Disney) have reported problems with families not being seated all together.
As mentioned, as long as you are booking your hotel with Disney you can add Disney Express to your Disney booking should you choose, even though you haven't booked Eurostar through them.

Have you tried Expedia? The prices are very good on there. I've only booked directly through Disney once and that was due to the 50% off AP discount. Is flying not an option? It can sometimes be cheaper than the Eurostar, depending on your dates.

Thanks for your help everyone,

I have just booked seperately the hotel through Disney with free dining booked at New Port Bay

And after a 10 minute wait and speaking to nobody at the Eurostar I hung up and booked through the internet but could pick my seats.

Plus could upgrade for only £10.00 on the way back so I did that too.

(on the way to DLP it was £107.00 to upgrade so I gave that a miss)

We paid for seats for the kids, they are too big now to have them sat on our laps plus it will be late and they will probably want to sleep.

I didn't look at flying to be honest as we live quite close to London and it will just be much easier to get to Kings Cross and take Eurostar.

Right now I have to go and make head and tail of the Free dining.
