Good morning all! It's still fairly early in the work day and it's already busy. Maybe, I can get some more trip plans posted today. The boss has several appointments coming in and that's usually when I can post. In the meantime, I thought you might like to see pictures of Lacey and her boyfriend, Jesse. I'm feeling better today. Still a little stuffy and my voice is still gruff. But, otherwise, okay.

Jesse is an outgoing fun-lovin' guy but is a little bit timid. Lacey, on the other hand, is missing the timid gene.

The Mission pastor's wife took these pictures. The pictures themselves are better than how they appear on the boards. I scanned them but forgot to work with the quality. Oh well, I still got to show off my baby.

Speaking of Lacey....she just called and is about 30 minutes from our town. They are going to stop at the local mall and eat Yummy Japan. I just wish they had been here earlier so I could go eat lunch with her. Darn it! Do you know how hard it is knowing she's going to be in town and I'm not going to at least get a hug? It's bad enough that I got all teary eyed.

I promise I am going to get around to posting more trip plans. It's just been hectic at work this week and once I get home, I don't do much Dis'ing.

But, I do have news to share! It's a semi-long story so I'll go ahead and apologize.

I booked our May, 2010 vacation back in August when the rates were published. I booked with absolutely no special offer or a pin (probably because I've never gotten even a frickin' frackin' single one....not that I am bitter about that or anything). When the gift card promotion came out, I called and applied the promo to our reservation. Didn't really save any money but it did give us a $500 gift card.

Quite a while back, the room only discount came out. I priced it out and it would save us even more money than the gift card. Not a lot but about $100.00. So, I called and had them modify our reservation again to apply the room only discount (which you could also add tickets & dining too). Because our last two nights fell outside the special offer, we had to pay rack rate for those two nights.

Then, we found out that my Mama was going to come along with us. I tried to get her to stay in the room with us but she insisted on getting her own room and letting Hunter sleep in it with her. I called Disney again and booked another room with the room only discount.

Yesterday, I read that Disney now had room only discounts that started June 3rd and ran through mid-August. I tried pricing out the vacation again. On Mama's room, it would give me a discount on the last two nights' stays but not on our's.

I wrote down the price and the reservation numbers and called Disney on my way home. The first castmember was a semi-jerk who I could tell wasn't even really trying to see what the problem was when I told him what I ran into online. I finally just said "thanks anyway" and hung up. I immediately called back and spoke with a super nice guy who said I was the fourth person to call him today about the new promotion. He fiddled around on his computer and chatted while he was punching stuff in. He asked if I could hold and I told him yes.

When he came back on the line, he said he had good news. He had modified our reservation and had saved me $67.50. He took my mother's reservation information and modified her's too, saving her $67.50 also.

In a call that took less than 10 minutes, I saved us some money. $67.50 may not sound like a lot but we drive so that will help pay for our gas or buy a lunch, etc. I was happy.

Anyway, that's my good news for the day. Wait! I have more good news! It sounds like there will be a Dis Meet on May 28th which I hope we can participate in.

Let me get busy getting some paperwork off my desk. It's supposed to start snowing this afternoon. That's a really big deal for us Louisiana residents. We don't get snow here much and if we do, there's no real accumulation. Hunter wants it to snow enough that they cancel school.
