Hey everybody! Sorry I haven't been around this weekend. For some reason, I can't stay logged on to the Disboards. Every time I sign in, it tells me that it's an invalid username and/or password. Every once in a while, I can post a reply but not often. I have no idea what's going on.

I have my snow day pictures uploaded to photobucket and am about to seeif I can post them.

That is the same thing it is doing to me. If I go on through IE it works so I am wondering if it is an AOL problem or a Dis problem?

Let's see if I can stay logged in long enough to post some snow pics. This is what it looked like at our house when I got home from work on Thursday:

Laugh if you must, but we were excited to even see this little bit of snow.

I think it was about 8:30 p.m. or so when I was chatting with Dana via instant message and I told her it was snowing pretty hard and that Hunter was about to bust to go outside and play in the snow.

This is what it looked like about 9:00 p.m. Thursday. Hunter really does have winter clothes but he insisted on putting on his Dad's coat, gloves and hat:

Hunter's snow angel. There wasn't much accumulation. You can see the grass and leaves. Oh well, it was still a snow angel....just a Louisiana snow angel.

Since it was dark, my pictures didn't turn out too well. Didn't stop me from taking 'em though.

We decided to try and make a snowman. We had to really pack the snow hard or it wouldn't stay round. Our first attempt at a bottom failed miserably. It busted as soon as we put the second section on.

Here we are building:

I called Mama and told her we were outside building a snowman and playing in the snow. She bundled up and came over.

First...ANY money saved on a Disney vacation is GOOD NEWS!!

Love the snow angel and playing out in the dark! Here in upstate NY, we don't really see the grass from November to April so snow is just a pain!! I'm glad to see someone enjoying it so much!!

As ya'll can see, I didn't get to post more pictures before. I was still having trouble with staying logged on. Let's see if I can get some snow pictures posted for you guys.

A few more night pictures:

After playing outside for quite a while, we drug Hunter inside so we could warm up. It was probably about 10:30 p.m. or so when we came in. John stoked the fire in our wood stove and we watched television. It was a nice way to end the day. Oh, and it was John's birthday too so he can say it snowed on his birthday.

The next morning, I woke up early to find it still snowing and our yard looked like a Winter Wonderland. It was beautiful. I woke up Hunter and told him to look outside. He was ready to get out and play some more. So, he and I bundled up and were ready to go exploring. John decided to stay warm and cozy by the fire. Spoil sport!

We climbed through the fence and out into the pasture surrounding our house. Everything was covered in snow and simply gorgeous.

There are huge briar patches and ditches all around the pasture and with the snow covering it, you couldn't see really where you were walking. So, I took the lead and made Hunter following behind. If anybody was going to step in or on something, I wanted it to be me. I turned around and caught Hunter just as he was leaning down to make a snowball to hit me with. Sneak!

We made it to the top of the hill and the trees were so pretty. Hunter said it looked like we had walked into Narnia.

We threw snowballs at each other and ran around. If people had seen us, they would have thought we were crazy. But, it was so much fun. We started back towards the house to see if we could talk John into coming out. We also wanted to let Oddball out of his kennel so he could play in the snow with us. Now, don't ya'll go thinking "poor Oddball, outside in a kennel" because the dog has it made. He has all sorts of blankets in his dog house AND he has a heat lamp. Yes, his dog house is heated. Spoiled dog!

As we walked back, I continued taking pictures. We saw this and said it looked just like a porcupine covered in snow. It was actually long grass.

I went back outside with Hunter while John slipped on his boots. Hunter and Oddball continued playing in the snow. You may notice that Hunter now has on his dad's hunting boots. They are waterproof and were about three sizes too big.

Even our kickballs are Disney themed. You may not can tell but that's Mike from Monster's Inc.

John came out about this time and, of course, Hunter had to challenge him to a snowball fight. They played while I walked around taking more pictures. Are ya'll sick of snow pictures yet? Hum.....I'm not 'cause we never have snow....sorry!

We walked over to Mama's to take some pictures and check on her. She got bundled up and came out. Hunter thinks his Mamaw in a ball cap is the funniest thing ever. Hunter dared Mama to eat snow off the birdfeeder. She did it! I swear, I think she'd do anything for that boy.

Mama's yard has more trees so her yard didn't have as much snow as our's. Oddball running from our house to Mama's. He was loving the snow too.

Mama walked with us over to our yard so she could see how our snowman held up. It didn't do well. It was leaning like crazy so Hunter and I put some reinforcement on the bottom by packing more snow around the base of the snowman.

After playing for a while, we put Oddball back in his kennel so we could take John up in the pasture to look at Narnia. We often see deer, raccoons and rabbits in the pasture and we were afraid Oddball would go searching for one if he went with us.

We got all the way to the top of the hill where Narnia was and it was snowing pretty hard again. John thought it was just as pretty as we did. There are some round hay bales on the hill and John got the great idea of sitting Hunter on one of them so we could take his picture. He told Hunter to jump when he started to pick him up. Hunter jumped, John tripped and this is how they ended up.

It was so funny! On to pictures of Hunter actually on top of the hay bales.

I have lots more pictures but I guess I'll stop here. All total, Hunter and I were outside in the snow for over 3 hours. John was out for about 1 1/2 hours. It stopped snowing about 1:30 or so. The temperature reached 38 degrees and the snow started melting. The next morning we still had patches of snow here and there but by that afternoon, it was all gone. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. I guess we'll wait another 10 years or so before we see another snow like that.

How fun. I know the Disboards have been acting up alot lately.
I took Claire outside the other day and though we have quite a bit snow, it isn't the packing kind right now and Claire was disappointed that we couldn't build a snowman. I honestly hate snow. So I hope it all melts soon and spring gets here.

It's funny because I was thinking about you, Jen and Kathy when I was posting my snow pictures. Ya'll get waaaay more snow than we do and I figured our little bit of snow would make ya'll laugh.

I love all the snow, so funny cause up here in Canada I have only shoveled the driveway twice this year and I usually shovel more than that before Christmas.

Looking forward to hearing more trip plans. We are going in december and my mother is thinking about coming with us this year as well!

We still haven't made a snowman this year!!--and with all the snow we get up here, you'd think we would have made tons by now. Oh well...so glad to see somebody enjoying it so much. I guess we just take it for granted here since it seems like we see more snow than grass year round.

Looks like you guys had fun in the snow, Lisa. Personally, I'm sick of the stuff...we got six more inches at least today. And I'm the one that ended up shoveling the driveway and the walk, since I was the first one home. Boy, am I out of shape!!! We actually had school today - a two-hour delay, but that actually had us driving when it was worse. I think we might have been the only school in the county in class today between the snow and the fact that it was President's Day. Last week we were one of the few that were closed. I can't see any rhyme or reason to this new superintendent's reasons for calling school. Not that I want to make them up, but driving was bad today. We just shouldn't have been there!

I managed to finally point my TA in the right direction for a discount on our Disney trip. We saved about $340!! She swears it wasn't the room-only discount, but I'll take it anyway!!! It's great to save a bit on vacation, isn't it?

Looking forward to more plans. Eventually, I have to figure out some of my own...I think they might have shut down my PTR due to neglect!!!
