Over the River and Through the Woods to Mickey's House We Go! And Grandma is in Tow!

Let's see, I had a lot of emails back and forth with a few people. Then, I had a math problem that I couldn't figure out. I never did make it work. :confused3 I guess I got my blood pressure up trying to figure the darn thing out because I went home with a headache.
I like getting real emails...not just sales:rotfl: been enjoying but I too have been lacking in the dis:surfweb: hope your headache is gone

trying to catch up and work on Gwendolyn's taxes so I think I have been reading three threads a day need to do better than that!:rolleyes1

Have a great day!
:wave2:

Ok, so, I'm not first. But I am here for you Lisa. I will now read as long as the eyes stay open. It can be a test. It's about nap time till lunch. One day pretty much is the same as the one before. Hanging in tho.

Missed you lots

Remember the donut situation? It happened to end up being my fav nurse here that I have. It was her step dad I did those for. She likes me needless to say. I may have told you that before. The memory is truely first to go.
Ginny

Wonderful! to see you on here my friend..we all miss you
I'm so happy to hear that you are being well taken care of...I knew you would make friends quickly there!

I understand about spills, especially if you're out somewhere---no one wants to walk around with a wet bag. But, the signature cotton VB is machine washable. There is a card in each bag with the directions. I've washed some of mine before, and had no problems.
That's good to know; with summer coming I may have to invest in me some VB! I was looking at some this past weekend but didn't want to give Danny to big of a heart attack:rotfl:

Like I said before, I think I'll be doing online check-in again for this trip since it worked out so well for us on our August, 2009 trip. I'll probably call before we leave though and make sure that they still have our reservation and my mother's reservation linked together.

This will be our fifth stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort. We've thought about staying at other resorts but can't make ourselves change. I've even gone so far as to book other resorts....Pop Century and Wilderness Lodge. John doesn't want to stay anywhere else. He says why go someplace else when we know we like the CBR? For John that's saying a lot. He's a man of few words and is content for me to make all of the plans. So, when he voices a preference, then I know he's serious.

I haven't decided if I want to make any room requests this year other than being downstairs due to Mama's mobility issues. We've stayed in three of the Martinique buildings and once in Jamaica. I'd actually like to be assigned to one of the other villages just to experience something different.

Last year, I made a request for a room in Jamaica. We had stayed in Jamaica in 2006 and liked the location. Imagine my surprise when the castmember gave us our packet and said we were assigned to Martinique 26. That's a preferred location and the closest building to Old Port Royale. A free upgrade! Sweet!

Here's a pic of our room:

I sure hope that Mama likes the resort. We've always told her how pretty it is and how we love it so. I hope we haven't built it up so much that she's let down. I'm sure she'll like it just fine and dandy and I'm worrying for nothing.

I have no plans for this evening other than resting up for our first day in the parks. I figure Mama will want to take a walk around the resort a little to stretch her legs. That second day of riding can be so tiring.

We'll probably go down to the food court and use our counter service meal credit. I love the fresh tossed ceasar salads. John will probably get a Reuben like he always done. I know Hunter's going to get pizza. That boy could live off pizza. Mama has been on a fairly strict diet since she was diagnosed with fatty liver. But, she said she's going to live it up on vacation. No telling what the lady is going to order!

After we eat, we'll walk around the two stores. I know, without a doubt, that Hunter's going to want to play in the arcade so we'll probably let him do that while we are doing some window shopping.

I'm not sure what Dana's plans are for this night but if they are at the resort, I know I'm going to want to meet my Dis friend. If they are out and about, then I'll just have to pout and wait and see what their plans are.

I figure Mama is going to want to hit the sheets early. She's not a spring chicken anymore and I'm going to have to remember that. This trip is going to be waaaay different than previous trips.

I think I'll stop here. The boss needs me to type up a couple of letters. Up next our first day in the parks!

Lisa, I used on line check in last May, too! I had put in that I wanted a connecting room (we had two rooms at ASSp). they did have just what we asked for when we checked in...but one was not a king so we ended up changing at checkin. So, when you do online be sure to recommend all your request. I think they really do try hard to fill the request...I had also asked for a bldg close to the busses we were in the football bldg right next to the food court and main bldg.

I can't wait to get to CBR and check in. I love online check-in too btw. We used it in May and September last year and it went very smooooth.

Thursday, the 27th, is when you arrive right? We have an ADR for CM at 8:05am so we don't have any plans for the evening. It will be fun to meet up at the resort and hang out. I want to plan a resort day so that would be a good day to do it :cool1::banana::woohoo:. I am really hoping I can get somebody to work for me on the 22nd and 23rd, but at least on the 23rd so we can leave a day early and have an extra day at Disney.

You definitely need to look into the Vera Bradley stuff. Their site has sales all the time and then there's a lady on ebay whose seller name is Window Shopper or maybe The Window Shopper. She starts her items out pretty cheap.

I don't even remember there being a request section on the online check-in. I guess I wasn't looking good enough.

Yes, we will arrive something late afternoon/early evening of the 27th. We won't have anything planned for that evening at all. Just chillin' and relaxin' and gettin' ready to hit Epcot the next day.

Let's keep everything crossed that you get somebody to work for you and you get to leave a day early. Wouldn't that be great?!?

Just got an email today there is free shipping through the 5th. Going over there now to order me some sale items and get me some free shipping!

:woohoo::woohoo:Alrightie then we need to plan something for that evening :woohoo::woohoo:. We have dinner at GFC on Friday at 5:30pm so I don't know what park we will be at Friday.

If I can get off I think we may just stay off property that Sunday night and check in at CBR on Monday. I will price out a room off property and see what I get. I have gotten pretty picky about the hotels now so it will have to be a good one. Dallas likes to order Flippers pizza so we can have it delivered if we stay off property the first night.

Great pictures!!!:thumbsup2 I'm sure your mom will love CBR!! It looks like such a beautiful resort! (I wish I could talk my DH and the boys into staying there:rolleyes:....they just feel the same way about Pop Century as John feels about the CBR)

I'm not planning on doing anything so we could definitely meet up that night. I'd love it!

Be sure to check out the Floridakiss.com website. There are lots of cheap hotels on Hwy. 192. Just don't stay at The Suites at Old Town. They are crap-ola! We used to order Flippers pizza all the time and it was so good. I also liked getting Checker's slaw dogs. Yummy! Is it time for supper yet? I'm hungry all the sudden.

CBR looks beautiful! I'm sure Mama will love it!

Sounds like a great first night...very relaxing. :thumbsup2

I hope she likes it too. My only concern is she hates sand. If her floors feel gritty, she goes crazy. Ummmmmm....there's sand everywhere at the CBR.

I totally understand your husband and boys' way of thinking. They are like John...why change when you know what you love?

We're having chili dogs and french fries for dinner and now I want some slaw to go on them.....:lmao:

Aw, man! Chili dogs are a great big weakness of mine - thanks a lot, ya'll! Now I'm craving them like crazy, but it's chicken chili tonight. I think I know what I'm having for dinner tomorrow, though! :rotfl:

CBR looks like a great resort. We came close to staying there last year, then the B4G3 deal came out & we upgraded to the Poly to see what staying Deluxe is like. Somer didn't like being away from "Our Resort" so it's back to POR this year. We really love it there.

Some day I hope to try out all the different resorts.

Now that you mention it though, I think sand in the room would be a blech for me. I can't stand sand getting into my shoes or sheets or on the bottom of the bathtub. So I guess that means if I ever stay at CBR, I'll have to put a foot wash tub & towel beside the door so we don't track it in! Just like my mama used to do when we went on beach vacations. :thumbsup2

Your plans for a restful arrival night sound great!

It's weird because I only like slaw on my dogs when I order from Checker's. Your hot dogs are sounding good for supper right now. John has gone to his parents to cut some firework so it'll just be me and Hunter until later. I know John's Mama is going to feed him. She has to feed everybody who walks in her door.

Well phooey, why did you have to go and mention chicken chili. Now that's sounding pretty darn good too.

I remember your stay at the Poly and I remember that little green snake peeping out too. :scared1: The Poly is my dream resort. Until then, I guess I'm sticking with the CBR.

I haven't had any problem with sand getting into our room itself. Mama just doesn't care for sand at all and there's some of it on the resort promenade. I'm sure she'll be find though.

We stayed in the pirate room last year-we all really liked it. Girls also liked the pool-to bad they only went in 2x cause of the rain...Looks like a fun first night. We plan to go to Ep on fri after out bkfst ADR at Cape May.

Whyyyyyyyyyy did you post this? You know that means I've got to check it out. :rolleyes1

:guilty:SORRY! .......(Tell me what your ordered later....;) )

On a more positive note, I'm sure Mama will love CBR. I think it looks awesome---Love the laid-back beachy atmosphere! :)

Oh, what lovely pictures!! I'm sure your mom will not be let down!!! It is such a gorgeous resort!

And nothing is better than arrival day. It's so exciting, you know you have the whole week ahead of you and it's such a relaxing day!!! I absolutely cannot wait another few weeks until September's park hours come out so I can plan out all of our days!!! Oooo, that is so much fun!!
