Over the counter medicines you always bring/pack

I am preparing lists of things I need to purchase and pack (2 adults + 2 teenagers) for our upcoming cruise and I was wondering what over the counter medicines do people always make sure they pack or wish they had remembered to pack so they do not need to purchase it while on board or while at port? (I also want to make sure I am not missing anything from my own list of things I think we will need ie Tylenol, Advil, Pepto, gravol, etc)

In additoin to some Aleve, we always bring some DayQuil-type medicine in case we start to get colds. We bring along some Airborne and take that pretty regularly to help fight off the cold! I also like to bring along some itch cream - I hate bug bites. I've never had to use it, but I just hate being itchy if I do get a bite or rash.

Re: bandaids. I usually pack 1 per person per day. This is overkill, but I figure it can work for blisters, etc and if we need more there is plenty of time to get them. No need for a whole box.

This is somewhat embarrassing but my daughter was feeling "irregular". She purchased a tiny bottle of Milk of Magnesia for $4+. Lots of eating on the cruise and she was constipated.

They do have prunes in Cabanas at breakfast . . I bought some Pedialyte - electrolyte individual powder packets. Helps with long flights, and dehydration if you get sick to your stomach. I also bring a thermometer and a Covid test. Oh, and TUMS!

...and just remember that if somehow you need to buy some of these in the States because you are running low... you won't find Gravol... but Dramamine... same medication, different name. With that said, one can also find in the States a less drowsy anti-nausea medication called Bonine (ingredient: Meclizine) which used to be sold in Canada...but not anymore. The Medical Center has a box with "complimentary" anti-nausea medication next to their entrance. Guest services also have a supply of Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen, and first aid items such as band-aids if in need - and I do not recall them charging guests for one off requests... but can't confirm that.

Magnesium for muscle cramps (Milk of Magnesia - sold in DCL shops - is a good substitute. But be prepared if you overdo it). Lots more walking than at home.

Pepto Bismol.

Aloe, hydrocortisone for sunburn (even with SPF 50+ sunscreen - if you miss a spot).

Vitamin C to ward off colds (lozenges are easy)

• Paracetamol (European name for Tylenol)
• Non Drowsy Antihistamine I used Loratadine - generic name, Clarityn brand name, European equivalent for Dramamine
• Plasters (European name for Band Aids)
• Strepsils (European throat lozenges)
• Stugeron Travel Sickness Tablets ( European equivalent for Bonine)
• Rehydration Sachets Dioralyte European Brand
• Bonjela / Mouth Ulcer Gel
• Zovirax Cold Sore Cream
• HC45 Hydrocortisone Cream
• Non-Drowsy Sudafed Decongestant Tablets
• Eyelid Wipes for itchy hayfever eyes
• Covid Test

-Tylenol
-Advil
-Zyrtec
-Cough drops
-Chapstick/Lip Balm
-Aloe
-Dramamine (although we never use it)

For the adults:
-Tums or Pepcid
-Pepto
-Gas-X
-Melatonin

My husband needed a bandage for a scrape he got in the incredi-zone and I think he got one from the medical center without a charge

I have a whole little first aid kit that has gauze and alcohol prep pads and stuff. It'd never been used, but I like to have it, just in case.

The only other thing I can think of that hasn't been mentioned is eye drops (both regular and allergy ones). Sometimes I get so excited I forget to blink and spending a lot of time on deck on windy days dries my eyes out.

Benadryl - 100%. Bring this and carry it with you. You can get mini-pill holders and keep it in your pocket or bag. We have a daughter with a severe peanut allergy and always have some on hand. This came in handy when my husband was going into anaphylaxis while at WDW. He became incredibly itchy and had the presence of mind to take two before his airway could close. He had no history of allergies and turned out to be incredibly allergic to an ingredient in the H2O shower gel at the resort. Long story short, he would likely not have survived the time it took for the ambulance to arrive had he not taken Benadryl. I am militant about it now, and encourage everyone to have it on hand.
