I guess Disney realizes that many were opting for the less expensive Akershus over Cindy's so they are jacking up the prices big time. The current pricing is:
Dinner 28.99-13.99
Lunch 24.99-13.99
Breakfast 22.99-12.99

The link includes the holiday pricing also which also encompasses the entire month of June. Off property anyone?

UGH! We really liked out lunch their last trip but I don't like the new prices :sad2: They are really sticking it to people with the dining prices this year?!?! And I have to tell you that I would rather pay less and them keep their photo package  I bring my own camera and take perfectly nice photos.

Thank God my breakfast ressie is for 2/13! We will be on the DDP but I added this one as a special treat for my daughter, mother, and myself and will be paying OOP.

I agree that it is no longer a good value. What was the "old" price. I thought it was right around $25.00.

The last time we were there the food came to our table a few minutes after we had gone to the cold buffet. The service was not nearly as friendly as it had been. We felt quite rushed.

We had decided not to go back, and the higher prices will help me to stick to that decission.

Those prices are high, and I don't care for the added cost of having the photo included because I go there for a meal and some character interaction. I can take pictures for free with my own camera if I want pictures.

WDW develops the photos for the photo packages already, and currently it's up to the guest to decide whether or not to buy the package. If you don't buy it, they just throw the pictures away. Making those photos cannot be that expensive, given the amount they've been making that have been thrown away every day.

Now they are letting all of the guests keep their photos. For no extra cost on WDW's part, they are putting a significant price increase on their princess meal to include the photo. (Well, OK.......there's a little extra cost because they'll go through the cardboard photo frames quickly, but YKWIM).

I'm glad we ate here last year before this price increase.

I've been to CRT under both the "new" and "old" prices. At the "new" prices, it's definitely a once-in-a-while splurge, not an every-trip-we-have-to-go, but it's still a fine thing to do. I presume Akershus will fall into the same category.

For what it's worth, I've had lunch at CRT and Akershus, and even if they cost the same, I'd consider Akershus a better value. CRT has the ambiance, but Akershus is IMO a better meal, and the service isn't quite as rushed as it is in CRT.

with the new pricing will Akershus still be one credit on the dining plan (and include the pictures)?

The new prices are crazy, yes, but even crazier is the holiday pricing!
Makes me want to take the $150 we'd spend for dinner as a family of 5 and put it down on a rental car to go off property to eat!

Does anyone know if "holiday pricing" for June at this restaurant will eventually include more of the buffet restaurants? It would be good to know so I could change some reservations now.

I was under the impression that this "new holiday pricing" for the entire month of june:headache: is going to include ALL character buffets!
I guess we'll find out soon enough... I think this is horrible to raise the prices again! But all they care about it the bottom line!

mom3girls, I believe the "holiday pricing" includes all of the buffets, not just Akershus.

As far as the restaurant, I'm glad I have boys and they don't want to eat with the princesses! The increase in price doesn't surprise me.

We were at the princess breakfast last week and I was not impressed at all. The food wasn't the best and the princesses were extremely rushed. Our waitress - who was very sweet - was the best part of the place.

The new pricing reinforces my desire to stay away from this restaurant.

I didn't think about that before but you are right they were just throwing those photos away before. But somehow they need to up the price to let you keep them  Crazy! And like you I prefer to take my own photos!

Other than the princess character meal in Norway, where have you read Disney is making June holiday pricing for all buffets? Is that news posted somewhere?

Great Question!!! I love the picture that my daughter got with Aurora and her in her Princess dress. It is a classic but certaintly not worth 2 dinner tickets for ALL of us.

So which holiday are they celebrating for the entire month of June?
Flag day or Father's day?

:rotfl2: Don't give them any ideas or they could make every month of the year holiday priced except for August.

We made reservations for CRT for breakfast in June and were charged the holiday pricing. I wrote this in another thread, but if you are eating on June 22, you will be able to celebrate the following holidays: Anti-fascist struggle day in Croatia, School-teachers' Day in El Salvador, World Wide VW Beetle Day and Bring your pet to work Day. I am thinking that each of us should look up our June dining dates and put a special request on each reservations. To dining CM: Please note that our family will celebrating bring your pet to work day. Can you do anything special for that? After all, we are paying HOLIDAY PRICING!! :rotfl2:
