This is my first trip report so please be gentle.
This group consist of DH 46, myself 44, our DD 15 and a freind of the family also 15.
We were in a 4 car piled up on I-95 in Jacksonville on our way down to Disney World.
At first not even sure if we could complete trip.
Thankfully we were all ok none of the people involved reguired immendiate medical attention.
We could at least drive our banged up car onto Disney World with a the passenger door not working, a bumper that would take prize in most crash test and the icing on the cake was a muffler that gave us a wonderful sound that make you want to hide under the seats. So Valet parking for this trip was out. DH did find a Stitch car magnet that he placed on the door boo-boo which made almost everyone laugh.
First nite of our week long stay was at the Dolphin. We had a bellhop name Estabain. The 2 15 year old girls had a good laugh over that one.
We got up to our room intact. Realxed some and them about 7:45 headed out to bus stop for Downtown Disney we had a 9:00 Raglan Road ADR. Got there way to early so we wondered around for a while. Had to buy rain poncho because it was pouring. I joked with DH that as soon as we bought them it would stop raining.
It did.
Dinner at RR was just awesome. They have a soup that is made from pureed potatoes, bacon , and cabbage.
You have to try it if you ever go there. The music and step dancing was festive and beautiful . We stayed for about 2 hours then headed back becasue we had to be up early to switch reseorts.
Got back to resort and while getting ready for bed we discovered about and 6 inch rip in the bottom sheet of our bed from the edge in and then on the girls bed there was a 1 inch square missing from thier sheet.
Just not what I expected but since it was so late we just dealt with it and made a mental note. Never has anything like that at any Disney Reosrts even the value ones wouldn't allow that.
Onto Day 2 of trip and 1st day in the parks. Woke up about 6:00 am with a wake up call. I think teens can sleep through anything.
They needed a little more encoragement to get up and going. Arrived at Beach Club at 6:55. Left luggage with bell services and then the valet moved our lovely car up to wait for DH to park it. There was only one person CM working the front desk and we were sort of in a hurry and I really thought that early things wouldn't be really busy. However this guest really needed someone to walk him through everything. By 7:10 another CM opens up a computuer and then is ready to helps us. We have Chef Mickey's at 7:30 and are on the DDP so we need our cards to dine and get into the parks. She ask me if I would like to purcahse tickets and I said I already have I booked a package. She then looks through all my papers in slow motion and then I have to point out to her where the tickets are in the invoice.( Later I discover at Dinsey Quest that she falied to add the fun options to out ticket.) She then proceeds to ask for a CC for purcahses. We declined since we had Disney Gift cards to cover our needs. She then insistes twice more that we place a CC on the account for charges. We declined as nicely as possible. In our past stay this has never been a issue. We thought that this was irregular to insisit on a CC be placed on file. However we just finshed the pre-check in and received our cards for our luggage and the phone number to call for our room number. As we were walking off the CM who had been assisting us say oh by the way you have been upgraded to Concierge!!
I do beleive in faries I do I do.
We were surprised and in out own little world for a while. The girls of course didn't know what was in store and we didn't tell them we just decided to let them found out for themselves. Off to Chef Mickey's and we were about 5 minutes late.
Breakfast was great as usual. Headed over to Magic Kingdom hopeing to get there by 8:30 but missed that waiting on check and then it took awhile to remitt the tip and square away with a server.
I have learned that it is advantageous to arrive about 30 minutes before opening of the parks. We have always done so in the past but with this trip we usually there about 15 minutes instead.
The Magical Kingdom was wonderful early that morning. We were able to enjoy Space Mountain, The Monster Ink Comedy Floor, HM, and POC before 10:30. grabbed fast passes for SM and Buzz.DH left to take car from CR to BC and meet us a 11:45 for lunch with Pooh and the Gang at CP. While he was gone we rode Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh. He was about 5 minutes late again because he got turned around. However lunch was wonderful and we have decided that the CP is a winner anytime you eat there. After lunch we did MPM. We decided to let the girls use all 4 fast passes to ride SM. The first time they were out before we could use the restrooms and the 2nd time through what should have been about a 30 minutes wait and ride time they still weren't out after 1 hr. and I was worried. They CM let DH go through the Fast Pass line to look for them. SM was down and they were 2nd in line to ride whenever it got back up however it was 2:45 at that time and we wanted to see the 3:00 parade. So out they came and we watched the parade.
Then we headed back to the resort to discover our room location and enjoy afternoon refreshments. We had a lovely room.
Wished I was still there to enjoy it.
My husband now has a new favorite resort. We stayed there back in 96 for a short stay. Even though it is a large resort it is very well layed out and easy to navigate. We got unpacked and enjoyed some of the concierge offerings. I was a little surprised how some people were loading up on the food.
It is suppose to be light refreshments not a meal. They had beer, wine, evian, crustless PB&J, gummy worms, an appertizer(ribs and sauages the times I checked) soup each day, friut, cheeses, dips and spreads with crackers, and breads. Also cheese balls with olives marrinated in some type of dressing.(Sorrt I didn't try any.) After a refreshments and a liitle rest it was back to MK and Tony's Town Sguare for dinner. Lovely decor and waitstaff was good however I didn't enjoy the entree(Spaghetti with choice of meatballs or sweet Italian sausage in Tony's own tomato sauce)the sausages are whole and after cutting them up there wasn't enough sauce. Ministrone soup was good though.
While everone else was wathcing the 1st Sprectro we headed for more rides. POC and HM again, another pass on Buzz, and the tea cups. Then we got our spot on the curb for spectro. That night was the beginning of a two day cold front and the wind was making it quite chilly. I had to lend a hoodie our friend that was travleing with us. That worked most of the time. We didn't linger much after the parade. The floats seemed more vivid than I remember. Off to our delightful room at the BC and a great night of sleep!!!.

Even though we had an early day the laundry on top of it was a whopper. Couldn't put it off though.(Note to self next time skip Deluxe dinning and maybe have the BC do the laundry.)
