Our Surprise Adventure of a Lifetime. Lots of Pics Along the Way!

How lovely. I am feeling the excitment building with your nights! When are you planning to tell them and how? I am terrible at keeping a secret!!!! You are doign so well.

We actually won't be telling them until the night before we leave! Or maybe the week before we leave... I haven't decided but either way, it's about eight months away. It's really hard to keep the secret but it will be worth it. In regards to the big reveal, lets just say that it will have something to do with Peter Pan and buried treasure!

Well, this week was my first week of spring semester. And boy was it a full week! I leave the house every morning at 7 am and on my earliest day, I get home at 8 pm. I am so tired all the time!! Hard classes, lots of work.. I thought it would help make time pass faster but it's the opposite! At least I have off Friday, Saturday, and Sunday every week, though. Hopefully this weekend we will do Disney night. I hope everyone is doing well! Until next time.. :wizard:

I have just read through this pre trippie and have to say what a fab read :wave2:
Your disney movie nights look so much fun and what a fantastic idea, look forward to reading more :thumbsup2

Thank you for reading my PTR! I love hearing feedback. I hope you continue to enjoy!

Sounds like you have a tough semester but at least you get some down time on the weekend. Good luck!

Thank you for sending me luck... I will need as much of it as I can get. I thought I may have some down time on the weekends but apparently not. I guess my "free time" on the weekends is now for grocery shopping, cooking, studying, cleaning, laundry, and errands. UGH!! I don't know how I am going to do it but I guess I will feel like I accomplished something huge once the semester is over. It is just frustrating because a couple of the classes I am taking now, I am only taking because I HAVE to. I feel like I just have to get through them but then... when I look at my major requirements, I realized I have 2 or 3 semesters after this one of those kinds of classes (Chemistry, Physics, and Calculus). I just want to fast forward three semesters and get to the interesting stuff already! Oh well... one day at a time...

I got a free dining pin in my e-mail for the dates we will be there!!! YAY for saving money! It will take about 1100 dollars off of our package price!!

Classes are hard but I am hoping I will get through them. We are going to Phantom this week and I will post an update when we get home. I just wanted to share that bit of AWESOME news! Until next time... :wizard:

Sorry everyone for the hiatus. I have been crazy busy with school. Good news though, I have taken my first test in each of my classes and got A's on all of them! I was really nervous about my Calculus test and my Psych test but I aced them anyway. Yay for me!

Last Wednesday was Phantom of the Opera day! I went to class in the morning because I had an English test and then we left for NY around 9:30. Once we got there, we walked to Grand Central Terminal to eat lunch. I was really excited because I thought it would be like Reading Terminal Market in Philly only bigger. It wasn't, incidentally, and I was disappointed. I found a turkey bone in my chili and my pizza was soggy and greasy. (I though NY pizza was supposed to be great!!... oh well, nothing can compare to Jersey shore pizza. I have 2 words for you... Mack and Mancos) Anyway, when we were done, we set off for the most important stop of the day... THE WORLD OF DISNEY STORE!!! We stopped and the American Girl Store and St. Patrick's Cathedral on the way.

Once we got there, I felt like I had died and gone to heaven! I was dancing around and singing like a fool to every song they had playing. I didn't even care!!

DH and I with our AWESOME Hannah Montana Headsets on!

Everyone there must have been either thoroughly entertained or thoroughly annoyed. The store has three floors of Disney goodness and took us a while to soak everything in.

When we were done, we headed towards the car. We stopped at Jamba Juice and got smoothies (mine was gross but DH's was awesome! It was the chocolate peanut butter one.) Our plan was to eat at Chipotle for dinner and... what do you know!.. it was right next store to Jamba Juice. We had a fabulous dinner there (as always... why don't they build on around here?! We have to drive over and hour just to get to one.) and then walked back to the car to change.

When we got to the theater, we were about 45 minutes early so we just hung out in the lobby area and waited for them to open the doors.

P2110363.jpg

My mom was curious to see how full the theater would be so I wen over to ask the woman in the ticket booth. The convo. went a little something like this:

Me: Hi, I was just wondering how full the theater will be tonight.
Ticket Lady (TL): Why do you want to know?
Me: Ummm, my mom was just curious I guess.
TL: Oh, because the theater isn't full and I might be able to give you better seats. Where are you sitting?
(side note: apparently this is common for people to ask for upgrades on their tickets. We didn't need them because I bought AWESOME seats for us.)
Me: Oh no, we are sitting in row J in the Orchestra.
TL: I can't give you any seats better than that.
Me: Well, I wasn't really looking for better seats. I just wanted to know how full the theater would be.
TL: It's a quiet night.

It was literally one of the most awkward conversations I have ever had in my life! So, finally, they opened the doors and we went into the theater. When I tell you we had the best seats... I mean we had the BEST seats. We were in the orchestra, about 9 rows back (just close enough to see the actors up close and far enough away to see the whole stage at once without having to constantly crane our necks.), right in the MIDDLE!!! It was incredible.

The first half of the show was great (as you expect Phantom to be). During intermission, I was singing parts of the show, unconsciously, and the person behind me said "wow, you're better than the people up there! We were very impressed!" Then, he said "I'm a broadway producer and I am casting for a new Disney show. We are going to be doing Snow White and I would like to personally invite you to come audition for us!" OMG!! .......Ok, ok you got me! The second part was a lie but that would have been cool, huh? I'm sure what he said was an over-exaggeration but it made me smile anyway.

The show was great. I really got goosebumps every time the actor who played the Phantom sang. It was a good day... long and tiring but worth it. The rest of my week suffered from not getting home until 2 am but everyone had a great time and I'm glad we went.

Monday afternoon, since the kids didn't have school, we had another Disney night... well, Disney day anyway. We watched Aladdin (which I found for sale in our local grocery store even though it's been in the Disney Vault for some time now.). Nobody likes middle eastern food except for, maybe, DH. So, we had baked potatoes with chili and popcorn chicken. We made chocolate chip cookies for dessert and played Bingo again... they sure love to play that while we watch the movies. I didn't take any pictures this time but we didn't decorate or anything to you guys are missing anything big. Stay tuned for next Disney night (either Hercules or Sword in the Stone.. it's my turn and I haven't decided yet.) Until then... :wizard:

Look for an update of this post for pictures later today.

Sounds like a great day in the city! I've been wanting to see Phantom for quite some time!

Movie nights have been a really fun thing for us all to get involved in so I would definitely recommend it for your family too! And yes, I do consider myself very lucky to have a husband who isn't to cool or macho to get down and do the Disney thing!

UPDATE!!!

Our reservations have OFFICIALLY been made! September 22-29 at All Star Sports with 8 day park hopper and FREE DINING!!! It seems so much more real now that we have a concrete reservation. YAY for us!! Just wanted to share! Stay tuned for some movie night fun coming soon. Until then... :wizard:

I'm BAAAACK! Sorry it's been so long since I have posted an update but, here I am, posting our Pocahontas Disney Night. We had the girls over and ate a Thanksgiving feast! We had hot turkey sandwiches, mashed potatoes, stuffing, macaroni and cheese, green bean casserole, and sparkling cider.

After dinner, we turned on the movie and "painted with the colors of the wind". I was so proud of myself that I thought of this! What you do is get a big posterboard, some washable paints, and straws. You put some paint in your straw and then you blow. It makes really cool designs!

We had a lot of fun and of course the movie was great! Next up (tomorrow) TARZAN!!!

Court got shrimp and chicken, Hannah got chicken, I got a Bacon Cheeseburger, and Mike got Paella. In the middle of the meal, Mike got Courtney to try a Mussel. How do you think she liked it?

"Here goes!"

"I don't know about this."

"Not a fan."

"For real guys... I don't like it!"

Props to Court for being willing to try anything once. We tried to get Hannah to try shrimp.

She thought about it...

I could comment on EVERY post you have made. This is AMAZING

You are an AMAZING sister. I cant ImAGINE what you will do for your own chidlren one day. You guys are going to be amazing parents.

You REALLY lucked out in the husband department. (Hes cute too LOL, but thats beside the point)

Your sisters are super cute and are going to be THRILLED

LOVE all the theme nights. My favorite activity was Painting With The Colors of teh Wind. That just ROCKS

I say GO FOR IT with getting married young, but maybe not as young as I did (I was 17) We have been married for almost 9 years and have had 4 children. We have been through two of the biggest things that cause divorce (money issues and death of a child) and we are still going strong. Not all young couples divorce, and I can look at it this way, when my youngest is 18, I will be only 39 :)

This is an INCREDIBLE trip design (Love the Incredible shirts BTW) and I am super excited for you. Care to adopt 2 neices and a nephew, my kids would LOVE an Aunt like you!:goodvibes

great ideas, as usual!

and your kitty is very cute, it kinda looks like my kitty!
