Last one for Tarzan. Two nights down! I am having fun doing these and every time I work on the pages, I get so excited thinking about surprising the girls with the trip!!!

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. We had lots of fun spending time with the family and just with the two of us. We got out our bikes and rode around town. It was fun and a great way to spend our days off. Until next time... :wizard:

What a wonderful keepsake the book will be for the girls. Can't wait to see more and hear about the big reveal.

Welcome. I am glad you like the pages. I have been looking at other peoples' scrap layouts and I am ready to trash all of mine. They seem so insignificant and uncreative now! UGH. The surprise will be great. I cant believe its only 74 days away.... WHAT?!?!?!?!

I have been feeling the same way about my scrapbooking lately. I've really just gotten back into it to get our April Disney trip done but I'm feeling like I am way off from the current scrapping standard. But then when I show my pages to my DH or mom they think they are great, which reminds me that I am doing the scrapbook for my family not all the other scrappers out there.

I really like your pages, I think they have all turned out great and are creative and go well together. I think your sisters will be thrilled with them.

Thanks for your support. It just seems like, no matter how proud you are of your pages and how well you think you've done, there is always someone out there who does it better! I think they will love them and I will try to stop worrying about it.

I am loving your PTR!!! Your movie nights look like so much fun...

We will be in Disney the same time as you, and also staying at All Star Sports... Our dates are the 15th to the 28th...

I would love to take my 2 little brothers and little sister to Disney World, but I do not think my Step Mom would be alright with that... We live 3 hours apart and can hardly get her to give them up already...

That's pretty cool you will be there the same time as us! I am glad you are reading along. Hopefully some of our antics will help get you excited for your trip too!

Hopefully next update will bring better news. I have started a thread on the theme parks thread that you should all check out because I need some advice!!! Visit me there at: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2225575

I sure hope no one spoils the surprise. :scared1: That would stress me out so much. Any thoughts of telling them early so you can do it in a more dramatic way than if someone accidentally slips up?

I should post pictures of my most recent scrapbook pages, they are so blah you would feel like a pro. :rotfl:

Tell them now. I believe planning and anticipating a trip is half of the fun. Don't take that away from them. It's good for the soul to have something wonderful in the works. Seriously, anticipation is huge, and you don't want them to find out accidentally.

So I have decided to tell them about 30 days in advance and just make cute advent calendars for them to countdown and get excited. They are just always too close to discovering the surprise. Any cute ideas?

I know alot people use the Mickey Head Paint Samples from either Lowes or Home Depot to make a count down calendar. I have a countdown chain that we use, that I got from another member of the dis. If you would like to see it let me know and I can PM you. One year I took our Christmas Advant Calendar ( it is a wooden box and the doors open up) and taped Disney pictures over top of the christmas pictures and then inside each "box" I put either items or the item on a piece of paper that they would need (sun glasses, new beach towel, disposable camera, laynards, etc,,) and then give them something new each day.

This sounds like exactly what I was thinking of doing. Giving them small things... gum, chapstick, small sunscreen bottles etc... The only thing is, my plan was to give them one thing on each morning they would need for that day (i.e. Typhoon Lagoon=beach towel. Discovery Cove=Disposable waterproof cameras. etc...) I'll have to figure out how to balance it. I also have a really cute idea that I am doing for each day that relates to my other thread. I will be sure to post pictures when I am done with that little project.

That's a good idea. I'm a big advocate of letting them anticipate the trip.

If there are things you want to give them that are too big for the little advent box, you could print off a picture of the item and have them turn them in to get the item when they come over for dinner.

I just started reading your PTR and wanted to say what a great big sister you are to plan such a wonderful surprise for your sisters! This will be such a wonderful memory for them. And how fun with your theme nights. I'm stealing some of your ideas for some theme nights as we lead up to our trip (I'm taking my 3 kids the first week of Sept). I'm planning a Lady and the Tramp night for next week. They haven't seen the movie so I'll rent it for us to watch before dinner, then I'll do the themed dinner for them.

Have fun!

I have enjoyed this thread sooo much. We going to Disney in June of next year and surprising my daughter with a trip to Discovery Cove while we are there. She will be getting this gift for our family vacation gift.

I love the advent calendar. Does anyone have any ideas of what to put in there for Disney and Discovery Cove?

Keep up the great ideas!!

Oh no! What a nightmare. I agree its best to do a big reveal in your own way rather than have them find out by accident. Countdown calendar sounds great.

Reading your PTR has been so awesome! I have a very similar surprise cooking for My DS & DD only the week before yours. They think we are going to visit family in Georgia...which we are but then we are going to extend the vacation for 5 xtra days! I am going to try a couple of movie nights and your scrapbooks look awesome don't sell yourself short. So many people leave the pictures on the disk and never do anything with them at all! I can't wait for your Big Reveal!

Thanks everyone for your support! I am glad everyone is having a good time reading my report. I will post a little bit later today but I wanted to let you know I am still here.

P.S. Reservations are officially paid off and plane tickets are officially bought. YAY!!!!:cool1:

We surprised them the other night... anybody want to hear about it? We also have video! Interested? :goodvibes

Yeah they finally know! Yes please post. Also I hope you are doing a trip report when you get back. I have followed your adventure from the beginning and I would like to see the end. :thumbsup2
