Well, speaking as a parent, I can tell you that C's are for average kids and I think my kids are better than that. If DD1 and DD2 are giving it their best effort( doing homework, asking me for help or going to tutoring) I can live with a B but I still push for A's. My parents knew nothing of class rank and how it effected getting into collage. I learned about that my SR. year and it was Waaaaaaayyyy to late to move up. All the work it takes to be in upper level classes is worth it in the end. I wish someone one had explained all of that to me. But since I was the only guy to finish High School, and the only child still at the house when they finished. I think they were pretty happy with that.
Not only do we(parents) want you(our children) to have better "things" than we did we want you to have a better opportunity than we did. (sorry Dad mode took over)

Ditto exactly. I was going to give the mom take also. I know that even with my eight year old I don't care what his grade is as long as he is doing the best work that he can do. There are many avenues to go down to achieve this as ultimex addressed. Your mom probably just knows what you are capable of and expects you to meet it even though it is tough. It is supposed to get harder because you have to be prepared for life which is hard at times too. Sorry the mom just escapes sometimes.

:sad2: Way to late!!! What are those people thinking?

I totally agree way to late. My second grader gets to bed on a consistent basis of 9pm because we do have afterschool sports and he has to unwind after. Pretty hard to fall right asleep after your heart is a pumpin in hockey until 7pm. Got to wait at least an hour before the appetite kicks in for him. 10pm wouldn't make me happy at all. Hopefully doesn't take too much wind down time.

I'm still at work and it's a slow night. Phone has only rang 2 times and it's been bad news both times. We didn't end up with any accumulation just some icy sleet in the morning which disappeared quickly as it hit the 70's that afternoon. It was great today but another cold front is moving in tonight. Was darn cold at soccer practice tonight. Got to take a dinner break and go watch the kiddo. Haven't seen much practice this season.

I have a question, is it normal for a seventh grader (Who takes Pre-Algebra) to get ALL A's? :confused3

If you're talking about yourself that's GREAT news!!!

I'll put it this way. Is it normal NOT to get all A's in seventh grade? I've got A's ALL my life, but no math is getting Really Really hard, and I can't keep taking the expected perfection in my grades.. It's driving me to insanity.. :sad1: :guilty:

Honey Bunny, you got to stop stressing yourself out. :( In the scope of things grades are just a symbol. You don't have to have perfect scores to be intelligent you just have to have understandings of things. Its ok not to have perfect scores as long as you're doing YOUR best. Your best might not happen to be pre-algebra, but it might be spelling. As long as you do YOUR best in everything/every subject you do you can't go wrong because you have the satisfaction of knowing you did your best. This is what I tell my ds when he's struggling. He has to be able to learn it well enough to help his children with their homework because who else are they gonna ask? ;)

That's why I'm glad the meets in November and not December! I adore snow, but not driving in it. My old office was about 30 miles away and I hated to drive in the snow. Now I work about 1 mile from home so I can even walk to work if I need too! I have to start working out and dieting. I've got mopre than 25 lbs to lose .... as a matter of fact you can double that. Maybe you can be my inspiration! :wizard:

Ah....yeahhhh...... you didnt see me volunteer! I was ratted out!!! (No offence to rats!!) ;)

I'm just wondering how I got to be #3 on the list, I should be on the lower end of the list (didn't want to use the word bottom around here). Gotta really watch what ya say with the FMC around and now the Warped Club. :rotfl:

Ok everybody....are you sitting down......I've got BIG news! (No I am not pregnant... stop that...don't even think that) ....but.....I posted a new installment of my trip report tonight!!!!!! :goodvibes

Now this is pretty funny...it's been so long I had to go to post 3232 to get the link to my report! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I usually write it in word and then cut and paste but tonight I just wrote so I apologize in advance for any typos etc!
