our non-rushing (sorta) disney anniversary w/ PICS & VIDEO! new TR link - p. 136

Hey Dawn! Back from my own WDW trip and all caught up on your TR!

So glad Ray had fun at Epcot! There really is a little bit of something for everybody there!

Your dinner at Narcoosee's looked delish; and, as others have mentioned, your dress was so pretty! LOVED it!

I've done the dinner at 1900 Park Fare; you'll lreally enjoy it!:thumbsup2

Great updates! We just got back from our anniversary trip, so I'm getting all caught up! I was going to ask you if you had heard about PI. I saw it on the news down there last night. Apparently Disney told their employees first, and were going to release it to the press today, but the employees were mad because they thought they were all going to be laid off, so they went to the press first. Disney has said they are going to reassign their positions though.
Glad you had a nice time at the World Showcase. I just love it there.

The surf and turf is what I plan on getting.

I don't know about being better at the games, but my cousin did make a point of "picking" on me, and making me drink more, (like I really minded that much, ;) ) it was definatly tons of fun though.

you'll love the surf & turf. just don't plan on eating a big lunch that day or go to lunch early!

:lmao: It was tylenol 3, thank you! My sister warned me not to take lortab, she said it makes you act stupid..........

oh, and we wouldn't want you to act STUPID or anything, would we now??? now where's that picture of flat winkers again? :rotfl2:

For this, you might want to open a new window or tab on the Dis homepage to make the initial changes you need. Here goes:

Click on "quick links" on the top navbar. Choose user control panel. On the left navbar, click Edit Options. Scroll all the way to the bottom. Under Message Editor Interface, select "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editor" (stands for what you see is what you get). Save changes.

Now, when posting, if you use the icon above to insert a picture, just insert the URL for the photo in the field that pops up. Now, select the picture you inserted by clicking on it. It should have little 'select' squares around it, like this:

I just used the ROFL icon to illustrate. While the pic is selected, click on 'insert a link' above. Paste the URL (address) to your next update page in there. Preview the post, to make sure it's linking properly, then post. That's it! So now you can make nifty little clues via photo that link to the next update, instead of just typing "click here for the next installment". Oh and the pic above links to my myspace.
:rotfl:

thanks so much! i will try this when i post my next installment. right now the picture wouldn't be linked to anything.

I got started a bit late, but I just wanted to say that I'm loving your trip report. We are going in October, so I'm just kind of checking things out. I love trip reports with lots of pictures :thumbsup2 .

thanks for joining in! hope you guys have a blast in october. let me know if you end up doing a TR!

Loved the update, hope Tim and I can have a date night dinner there some night. That's halarious about the alcohol, that is totally me, LOVE my wine but it makes me SLEEPY!!! What a dream that couple won at Narcosses, wonder where they were when they won it.
Can't wait for more, just loving your report as always!:thumbsup2
Lesley

thanks! i know.....i was so jealous of that couple at narcoosee's. i mean, they were seeing the same thing i was and eating the same food i was, but to have the veranda all to yourself at night is so romantic and to see wishes with an unobstructed view while enjoying dinner......:cloud9:

Do you only have personal space issues with people you don't know???? Just curious

okay......i like you, but not in that way. attention matt: if you're reading this, your wife needs some lovin!

Oh my that looks incredible:thumbsup2 .....I'm not so sure about that cucumber drink

Dinner looked AWESOME.....I'm glad you guys had a great time and good seat at the window......:worship: to the hostess :goodvibes

it was! yeah, i was very happy with the host that night! ray's cucumber drink wasn't bad.......i'm just not a big cucumber fan. he loved it though!

So you are only allowed 3??? :lmao:

smart*ss!

LOVE the dress you had on for your Anniversary dinner!
Drunk Dawn! Im such a lightweight with my alcohol - on our last holiday to Egypt I decided to try the Egyptian beer, and had two bottles - when we got back to our room I tried to get in bed and missed! Ended up in a heap on the floor :rotfl:

Great update, love the cryptic clues! :thumbsup2

oh, drunk falling stories are the best! once in savannah my friend had been overserved and she tripped and fell on the sidewalk while carrying a BRIGHT RED frozen drink. well, ray happened to be walking in front of her and the drink went all the way down the back of his white shirt! it was too funny!!! :lmao: thanks about the dress. ;)

All of Pleasure Island? Including the restaurants? I'm glad my trip is before that.

i think so, but i'm not positive. here's the announcement i saw this morning: http://www.wdwinfo.com/downtown/pi/index.htm

there's also several threads going on about it on the theme parks forum.

I signed it. I actually love all of Pleasure Island. I come from a family that likes to shake their groove things, and on our last trip, we were able to go clubbing with our (then) 18 y.o., 16 y.o, our friends, and their 14 y.o. Where else can you do that?

how fun! very true - it's very unique in that it's somewhat child friendly. being at a club with a parent is a crazy experience. me and my sister went to a club with our dad not too long ago and to see him dance was just hilarious, but in a good way! he got down and funky!!! :cool1:

Yum! The food all looks so delicious. But my favorite would have to be the raspberry mojito. Where's that bartender when you need him? ;)

we have mint growing in your back yard and make mojitos a good bit. i think i'm gonna try to master that raspberry version soon!

Hey Dawn! Back from my own WDW trip and all caught up on your TR!

So glad Ray had fun at Epcot! There really is a little bit of something for everybody there!

I've done the dinner at 1900 Park Fare; you'll lreally enjoy it!:thumbsup2

thank you!!! yeah, i was happy that ray liked epcot at least a little bit! last year he just really hated it. thanks about the dress. :) i can't wait for dinner at 1900 park fare. erica and i plan on getting some pics with prince charming!

Great updates! We just got back from our anniversary trip, so I'm getting all caught up! I was going to ask you if you had heard about PI. I saw it on the news down there last night. Disney has said they are going to reassign their positions though.
Glad you had a nice time at the World Showcase. I just love it there.

i hope that's not true about disney telling the media before their employees. that doesn't seem right! disney has been doing some un-disney things lately, like not posting the hours for november until over a month later than the normally do and not starting the osborne lights until november 28th (or something like that). it screwed up a lot of people's plans. anyway, when i told ray about PI closing he said, "well, you know whatever they put in there is going to be bigger and better," which is probably true. i just know a lot of people are upset about the adventurer's club, so i hope they consider keeping it.

you'll love the surf & turf. just don't plan on eating a big lunch that day or go to lunch early!
I think there are nine hours between my lunch and dinner that day, hopefully that's long enough.

Signed the petition to save Adventure's Club. It's not something we would do but I know a lot of people really like it. We actually hate PI. We went down that way one evening last trip and the people it attracts are not so great. Definitely not Disney. I always thought you should have to be staying on Disney property to get in...when they allow the local teenagers in it really ruins the scene. I'm glad they are getting rid of it...like another poster said...whatever they put in will be ten times better. I am looking fwd. to some new restaurants!! :thumbsup2

thanks for signing it. i've never been to PI at night so i haven't experienced the crowds there myself. but i've heard so many good things about the adventurer's club that i hope they keep it because i'd like to go one day. my sister went last year and she's going again when she and her boyfriend go in 2 weeks. (i'm so jealous, by the way! )

some developments for upcoming trips have occurred so i thought i'd update my pre-trips within my TR.

first off, i received the backpack i ordered from disneyshopping.com in exchange for that tank top that didn't fit me. it ended up being navy instead of black. on the website it looks black and there's no color listed. i'd prefer black but i can live with navy. anyway, it's really cute and i think it's just the right size for our september trip since DH won't be there to carry the bigger backpack. it also doubles as a cooler so the inside is insulated, which will help in keeping things dry on the wet rides! :thumbsup2 i told erica i'd post pictures so she can get an idea of how big it is in case we share.

Picture001.jpg

there's plenty of room, i think. i packed it with what i would normally take with me to the parks just to test it out. inside here is my video camera, autograph book, ponchos, itinerary and plastic envelope with other important stuff. you can see there's plenty of room left.

Picture004-1.jpg

this is a little zipper area in the top of the bag.....perfect for keeping my wallet (i only use that tink wallet for disney trips! ;) ) and my camera, which wasn't in there at the time because i was taking a picture with it.

Picture003.jpg

the other compartments on the side and front - i have my tripod, markers, dramamine, ibuprofen, bandaids, chapstick and gum in here. there's also a place for a water bottle on the other side.

Picture005-1.jpg

here's a pic of me with it on just so erica can get an idea of how big it is.

Picture002.jpg

i think it'll be perfect!

also, as far as our december trip goes, we purchased our MVMCP tickets on friday!!! :yay: :santa: makes it seem more official that we're going now!

i decided to have an alternate plan in case we get there and they're calling for downpours on sunday night, the night we're supposed to go to MVMCP. i read that the "official" policy is that there are no ticket exchanges for this, but if you want to exchange your tickets for another night that isn't sold out, it's usually not a problem. so i called and got alternative ADRs and here's our alternative plan. of course, i'm hoping my original plan will work, but it's always good to have a backup!

thursday, december 11 - DHS / lunch at sci-fi at 12:50 / block party at 3:00 / dinner at a CS / fantasmic at 7:00 / osborne lights

friday, december 12 - AK (i was hoping to get tusker house breakfast, but NO ADRs were available that morning! so we're doing CSs all day instead which actually will make it easier since it's our alternate MVCMP day.) / lunch at a CS / jingle jungle parade at 3:45 / WL to check out christmas decorations / MK for MVMCP / dinner at a CS

saturday, december 13 - MK / lunch at a CS / castle lighting at 5:45 / dinner at kona cafe at 6:20 / GF to see christmas decorations / back to MK for wishes at 9:00 and spectro at 10:00

sunday, december 14 -beach club to see christmas decorations / character breakfast at cape may cafe (we were gonna do lunch at beaches & cream on our epcot day, but i wanted a character meal at some point and if we aren't doing tusker house, this was my second choice) / EPCOT w/ lunch & dinner at a CS / be sure to see christmas storytellers at WS / christmas tree lighting at 6:00 / illuminations at 9:30

i MUCH prefer my original schedule because i'd love to end our vacation with MVMCP, but if they're calling for horrid weather i'd rather go on another night. we shall see!

also, just wanted to share these pics with you. my lilies are blooming right now just outside my office window and i took some pics of them. had to get the shot with my tinkber bell bird bath in it!

Picture080.jpg

Picture082.jpg

we had an awesome lightening show on friday night with no rain. it was really GORGEOUS!!! ray taped it and i attempted to get pics, but most of them didn't turn out. these are the only ones that i thought were cool. keep in mind that these pictures were taken at 9:45 p.m. - it looks like it's daylight outside!

Picture086.jpg

Picture088.jpg

that's all for now. i hope to have an update to my real TR tonight. i'll be back later! :thumbsup2

Your itinerary sounds good. I love the Christmas Tree Lightening at EPCOT. My first time I was under the white things farthest away from the tree (it will make more sense when you see it)...so cool. I have also been up close. I love the full effect from the back.

I have done MVMCP on our last night last year. It was totally unexpected. DH had a migriane on our last day (MK)! I was so disappointed because our first MK day was very busy. We went to MK around 3pm and everyone was exhusted so we decided to leave. On the way out, DH said "I'll be right back". He came back with MVMCP tickets for us that night! We went back to CBR to take naps. We have done MCMCP before so we spent our time focused on rides. It was a rough morning the next day cause we were up so late and we had to pack and get to the airport...but I have two small kids. ;)

Your Narcoossees meal sounded delicious and I loved how you kept count of your drinks :rotfl: I'm a real lightweight too, I hardly drink as I gasp don't really like the taste, so when I do it only takes about 2 glasses :lmao:

That lightening is spectacular, was it scary?

Picture003.jpg

and I think my little zip wallet would fit in there too if needed

Do I need to bring a poncho or do you have 2......dont' mind either way

If you have some decent once I think I have 2 cheapos that we could use on water rides :teeth:

the other compartments on the side and front - i have my tripod, markers, dramamine, ibuprofen, bandaids, chapstick and gum in here. there's also a place for a water bottle on the other side.

Picture005-1.jpg

Well I don't think I need any more :thumbsup2 ....as long as I have headache meds for a poss :headache: I'm usually GOOD!!

here's a pic of me with it on just so erica can get an idea of how big it is.

Picture002.jpg

i think it'll be perfect!

I agree....it is a great size....from the original pic on the web site it looked smaller

So I may or may not just carry my camera case or a hipster and we will DEFINITELY have enough space

I love your tink bird bath.....and your flowers are beautiful!

I have some calla's blooming and I LOVE them!!

That is pretty amazing

Matt and I love lighting storms.....we will stand in the garage and watch them, b/c the rain is usually coming from the west

Dawn - I love that backpack! I like that it's insulated - think that will come in very handy! I swear, I have enough Disney bags - I keep buying new ones when I see someone post one that looks good!

Your back-up itinerary looks good; just don't forget to hop over to the BW to see their xmas decorations the day you eat at the BC. (I think they're prettier than the BC/YC's!)

Your backpack seems like it will work so well in the parks. Would you mind sharing the cost?

I just ordered one for our August trip..I had thought about putting all our crap in DS's diaper bag but figured it would be a pain to dig through. It was $19.99 with $6 shipping (flat rate shipping ends tonight!) I also got an awesome hoodie for DS..personalized with his name for only $9.99!!! Thanks Dawn!!! :thumbsup2

thanks for joining in! hope you guys have a blast in october. let me know if you end up doing a trip report.

I fully intend to do trip report. My pretrip report is started, and I'm sure you saw the link in my sig :) . I'm working on reading through other trip reports right now so that I have an idea of what the bests (and I would definitely consider you one of the bests) do to make their trip reports great.

so cool that he surprised you with tickets! i'm sure it was worth it even though you guys were tired. i can't wait!

Your Narcoossees meal sounded delicious and I loved how you kept count of your drinks :rotfl: I'm a real lightweight too, I hardly drink as I gasp don't really like the taste, so when I do it only takes about 2 glasses :lmao:

That lightening is spectacular, was it scary?

i used to not be such a lightweight, but i totally am now. i'm such a cheap date! :rotfl:

no, it wasn't scary. lightening doesn't bother me unless the wind is blowing really hard, then i start worrying about tornadoes. it's really cool where we live to watch a storm come in, especially in the summer!

and I think my little zip wallet would fit in there too if needed

Do I need to bring a poncho or do you have 2......dont' mind either way

If you have some decent once I think I have 2 cheapos that we could use on water rides :teeth:

i have like 6 cheapo ones, so definitely don't bring any of those. i bought 8 of them for our trip this past time, but we only used 2 and that was for me when riding splash mountain. we didn't get rained on once! if you have a nice one you want to bring, that's fine. but i've got plenty of cheap ones.

Well I don't think I need any more :thumbsup2 ....as long as I have headache meds for a poss :headache: I'm usually GOOD!!

oh, i always keep an entire bottle of ibuprofen with me because if not my back would be killing me. i probably take 12 of those things every day while at disney! i also put a few allergy pills in there just in case.

I agree....it is a great size....from the original pic on the web site it looked smaller

So I may or may not just carry my camera case or a hipster and we will DEFINITELY have enough space

i think we'll be good!!!! we're almost to 2 months! :cool1:

I love your tink bird bath.....and your flowers are beautiful!

I have some calla's blooming and I LOVE them!![/quote

you will see later in the TR where i got that bird bath. i don't even like birds but i couldn't pass it up! i love callas!!! lilies and tulips are my favorite but callas are a close second!

That is pretty amazing

Matt and I love lighting storms.....we will stand in the garage and watch them, b/c the rain is usually coming from the west

ours storms always come from the west, too, and we can stand on our back porch and watch them until it starts raining!

That backpack is awesome!

You're a bad shopping influence!

who? me? :rolleyes1 they're having a summer sale right now and $6 flat rate shipping. just sayin.

(I think they're prettier than the BC/YC's!)

we will definitely try to get over to the BW. i love that place and the walk is so short. thanks for the tip!

Your backpack seems like it will work so well in the parks. Would you mind sharing the cost?

i think tara beat me to it! :)

:thumbsup2

after reading this i just went back and looked again and decided to get some early christmas shopping done. i got some PJs for my 2 nieces and nephew and shirts for my other 2 nieces all for $35! :thumbsup2

I fully intend to do trip report. My pretrip report is started, and I'm sure you saw the link in my sig :) . I'm working on reading through other trip reports right now so that I have an idea of what the bests (and I would definitely consider you one of the bests) do to make their trip reports great.

awwwwwwww.......thanks! one tip i will give you is to take LOTS of pictures! they help me with keeping up with what i did while i was there and the order i did it in. and if i look at the properties on my pictures, i can see what time i did everything too! even if i don't ever show anyone the picture i took of the sign going into snow white's scary adventures, i take that picture anyway just so i can remember when we rode that ride.

i'm heading over to your pre-TR! i tend to lurk on pre-TRs so don't be offended if you don't see me much. i'll occasionally pop my head out and say hello. ;)

so we've come to day 4 in our trip. kind of bittersweet because it starts the second half of our 6 days at disney world. HOWEVER, today was our full MK day and i was sooooooo happy about that! to me, MK embodies everything that disney world is to me. i love all the other parks, but there is nowhere in the world like MK to me. it really is like the commercial where the mom goes to disney world with her little girl and turns into a little girl herself. that's how i feel when i'm at MK. it provides an escape for me like nothing else and i just absolutely adore it. it will always hold a special place in my heart.

anyway, on to day 4!

we didn't set the alarm today (again). the only day we had a wakeup call on this vacation was the very first day we were there (our hojo night) and on friday (our last day) when we were planning on MK rope drop. i woke up around 9:00 and did my whole breakfast on the porch thing. only this morning i didn't stay out there very long. the birds were in a sassy mood and decided to have a little fun with me that morning. they ended up chasing me BACK into the room with my breakfast still on the table on the porch. ray had to go get it for me because i wouldn't go back out there! :scared1:

after i finished my breakfast IN the room, we showered and got ready to go. on the bus on the way to MK we heard a guy talking about how he had heard that the jonas brothers were at DHS today and that miley cyrus was gonna be at MK tomorrow. i was so glad we weren't going to be in the same parks with them!

we got to MK around 10:45 and i took this as we walked in. only 2 more days until we were gonna be doing this!!!

DSC04449.jpg

after we got inside, we went to the right under the train station and as soon as we got inside the park i saw jiminy cricket standing there!!! i really wanted to meet him since i didn't see him at all my last two visits. i just love jiminy cricket!

i noticed this while we were waiting in line in front of tony's. it's lady and the tramp's paw prints.

DSC04450.jpg

i think i waited all of 5 minutes before it was my turn to meet mr. cricket. he was so cute!!!

DSC04452.jpg

DSC04455.jpg

by the way, that first pictures was my clue in the last installment.

after meeting jiminy, we slowly strolled down main street. i just LOVE this place!

DSC04457.jpg

DSC04458.jpg

we decided to get lunch out of the way since we had an early dinner ADR at 5:05 that night. plus ray had been itching for a casey's hot dog. i swear....the boy could eat nothing but casey's while at disney world and be perfectly happy.

we got a seat inside because i don't do lunch with the ducks outside casey's. they're evil, i tell you.

DSC04459.jpg

we decided to split a hot dog and fries since neither of us were really that hungry. ray's half.....can you say cholesterol???

DSC04461.jpg

my half-eaten half is at the bottom of the picture. saurerkraut and mustard! :thumbsup2

continued in next post: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=25947985&postcount=839

after lunch we decided to head towards adventureland. every time i've done MK my entire life i've ALWAYS gone to either tomorrowland or fantasyland first, so we decided to change it up a bit. isn't this pretty on the way there?

DSC04463.jpg

we passed these guys on the way into adventureland. usually i see either timon or rafiki there, but never both!

DSC04464.jpg

first up we did the swiss family robinson treehouse. i know a lot of people hate this, but we both remember it so vividly as kids and we didn't get to do it last year since it was closed for rehab when we were there.

DSC04467.jpg

i just LOVED this view!

DSC04471.jpg

DSC04470.jpg

here's some pics of the living quarters. i used to pretend this was my house as a kid. i'm sure everyone did!

DSC04475.jpg

after our adventure in a big, fake tree, we decided to ride the magic carpets again. we had had so much fun on them on sunday night! the wait was like 10 minutes! :thumbsup2

waiting in line.....isn't he handsome in his mickey ears??? :cool2:

DSC04480.jpg

i love the detail! i'm sure you aladdin fans know this, but this little bug is the thing that jafar connects together to find the cave of wonders, where the lamp is.

DSC04481.jpg

we had fun on the carpets except that our carpet didn't dip for some reason this time. bummer!

after we got off the carpets we saw jasmine, but her line was a little long for me.

DSC04482.jpg

thought this was pretty.....

DSC04484.jpg

further into adventureland we saw some more characters. i knew these guys would be out at the pirate & princess party, so we decided to bypass them right now. i LOVE me some captain hook!

don't you love how this little girl is looking at up at smee? so cute!

DSC04485.jpg

that's all for now........up next.........

Great update and pics as always!!

You both look so cute in your ears!! I was showing Chad your pics with the ears begging him to get some when we go down there so we will see!:thumbsup2
