our non-rushing (sorta) disney anniversary w/ PICS & VIDEO! new TR link - p. 136

I love the photo of you with Jimminy Cricket, I would never have guessed that you met him from the clue.

I think it's cute you and Ray went up the tree and relived your childhood dreams :goodvibes

I was at the beach for 4 days and had to catch up but I definitely agree that your $30 Marshalls dress was awesome! I'm "thrifty" too! I loved your "world" in your ahnds photos too they came out so cute!
That raspberry mojito may be the best looking non-frozen drink I've even seen. I'm definitely going there now on my next trip after seeing that drink-porn shot!
Also, i loved your Chip and dale shirt in your jiminy picture, and now I have the rescue rangers theme song stuck in my head! Thanks! :rotfl:
Can't wait to hear more! Yay pirates and princess party! Your signature shot is cute so I can't wait to see more pictures. You two make such an adorable couple!

Just caught up on your TR....loving it soo much. Im going to Disney in Decemeber too, but not the time your going :(... By the way I LOVE the shirts you wore to MK, the mickey Mouse one and the Chip and Dale...did you get those at disney???? Cant wait to read more.

I am always looking forward to your next update. Then today, it hit me. What am I going to do when your TR is done????? :scared1:
I'm reliving the trip with each installment and don't want it to be half over!

Your flowers look great! :thumbsup2 This is the first year that I've planted any actual flowers -- I had focused on getting shrubs/trees etc done. It's so nice to look outside and see them. And even better to see something Disney. I have a Goofy planter outside myself.

I've also been admiring your photos on the POTD, etc. I love those threads. There are some really great photographers on the DIS. Of course, the one thing I check EVERY time I come to the DIS is your TR! :goodvibes

Loved your cute tshirt and mouse ears, perfect outfit for MK:cutie:

I will now have to climb SFR tree house, that shot of the castle/SM is really cool.

oh, thanks! it was comfy too!! take your time in the SFR tree house. it's fun!

great update and pics

I love the bag. very cute.

thanks, scott! i think it's just the perfect size! :thumbsup2

Oh no! Poor thing! I bet your happy with the trade off though! Congrats on the weight loss!

:goodvibes

i am, thanks! i started out at 160-165 pounds, which isn't horrible. but remember that i'm only 5'3" so i was getting into a size 14 and i just wasn't happy with the way i felt about myself. now i'm 130-135 pounds and in a size 8 (most of the time - and sometimes even a 6 - go figure!). but more than anything i'm just happy with the way i feel! i noticed such a difference with my energy last year as compared to this year at disney. my feet didn't hurt AT ALL this year. it was great! my weight loss has stalled for the moment but it's my own fault. i recently started paying more attention to my diet and calorie intake and i'm hoping to get to 125 pounds soon - then i'm gonna stop!

Hey punkin, I just started reding your trip report and I'm having a blast. I usually start reading a bunch of reports just before we leave for our trip but I wish I has started yours before now. I have only read day one so far and I'm amazed at the day you guys had.

thanks so much for joining in!! i think i see you over on memom's report. glad you've joined the party! :thumbsup2

Great Updates!!! I also signed the save the adventurers club petition. I have never gotten to experience it and it was going to be a must do on my next trip -- but my trip is not until November.

:sad2: bummer that you can't go in november! i'm hoping they'll decide to keep the AC. i've heard over and over again how people don't care about the dance clubs, but want them to keep the AC.

I'm so sad about this I practically lived at the Adventurers Club when I was a castmember and always drop in at least once every trip just to relive those times. Here's a pretty good listing of what Disney has in mind for the area:

http://www.allearsnet.com/news/hnews.htm#062708

sounds pretty good but an obvious attempt to bring in more money making ventures. No matter how good any new addition might be it will never make up for the loss of the Adventurer's Club.
Lynn

thanks for the link. it does sound like it will be really cool when it's done. i do hope they reconsider on the AC though. it's something i really want to have the option of experiencing in the future and i know how well-loved it is!

Sorry for the double post I can't quite figure out the multi-quote thing.

Loved your pic of the storm, we're in Marietta and sat on our front porch to watch that coming in Friday, at times the wind was pulling the leaves from the ground up into the air.

So gald Ray liked EPCOT, I had been wondering if he knew there was beer over there, since his pre trip picture featured a glass of beer ;)

We had the same imaginary home when we were kids ! I always drag poor DH up in the Swiss Family Treehouse every trip, I was glad they didn't change it to Tarzan like the one in DL.

And last, isn't it amazing how your camera can tell when you're drunk and automatically adjust to your vision :lmao:

Lynn

oh, yes, ray knew about the alcohol. last year we had planned on drinking our way around the world, but instead we witnessed a woman beating her child on nemo and the day just went downhill from there, so we left and went to MK. we just wanted to get out of there! and it just left a bad taste in his mouth. but i think now he likes it!

so funny about the drunk camera! and so true! :rotfl:

You know...i have never been to the treehouse! it look so fun though..i will have to check it out next time we go!
I didn't have any idea of the changes in DTD!!! The new proposed ideas look cool..but it is too bad that so many old favorites will be lost :(

the tree house is really cool! lots of people just don't like it because of all the stairs and they say it's kinda disappointing. i think i like it because we always went on it as a kid.

Guess what!!!! I'm 99% sure that we're going to Disney World in December and our dates will overlap. We're looking at the 13th-18th. :cool1: I'll have to pull the kids from school for a couple of days but we didn't have any issues last year and I don't anticipate any this year. Our school district excuses students for family vacations if they are educational and disney world is considered just that.

Loved the updates. My kids loved the treehouse. In fact, my youngest son wants his daddy to build him one just like the one at Disney World. :rotfl:

awesome!!!!! :yay: that's great about the schools letting them out for disney. my parents ALWAYS pulled us out of school to go. we always went in either october or may as a kid and it was awesome! that was our reward for doing well enough in school that we were able to miss a few days. be sure to tell me your plans so we can see if we'll be anywhere at the same time and keep an eye out for each other!

oh, tell your DH good luck with that treehouse! :rotfl2:

Your dinner at Narcoossee's looked fantastic....even better with a few drinks...that mojito looks good. I'll have to put it on the list......

it was VERY yummy!!!! it comes in a very close second to the lapu lapu in my favorite drinks at disney world. even if you don't eat at narcoosee's, just stop the bar and get one next time!

Oh, and everyone is entitled to have one or two "drunk" nights while on vacation.....

i agree!!! i'm just glad that now i have one or two as opposed to EVERY night on vacation being a drunk night back in my early 20's!

for me that equates to 4 doped up days..........since I don't drink!:rotfl2:

oh, come on, cherie.......admit it. you had to at least have a couple of shots before you posed for your flat winkers picture! :lmao:

I love the photo of you with Jimminy Cricket, I would never have guessed that you met him from the clue.

I think it's cute you and Ray went up the tree and relived your childhood dreams :goodvibes

jiminy was awesome! i was happy we met him. that was a first for me!

I was at the beach for 4 days and had to catch up but I definitely agree that your $30 Marshalls dress was awesome! I'm "thrifty" too! I loved your "world" in your ahnds photos too they came out so cute!

thanks! even if you don't get to eat at narcoosee's, stop by their bar and get a raspberry mojito......they're so good! that pic in my signature was taken at the pirate & princess party, so you'll have to wait awhile for that since it's the last thing we did! and thanks for your sweet comments!!!! :goodvibes

Just caught up on your TR....loving it soo much. Im going to Disney in Decemeber too, but not the time your going :(... By the way I LOVE the shirts you wore to MK, the mickey Mouse one and the Chip and Dale...did you get those at disney???? Cant wait to read more.

thanks for joining in!!! actually, nope, i didn't get them at disney. the mickey one i got at delia's and the chip and dale one i got at hot topic. i just searched on both websites and didn't see them - must be discontinued . :guilty:

I am always looking forward to your next update. Then today, it hit me. What am I going to do when your TR is done????? :scared1:

:rotfl: read about my september and december trips! :upsidedow

I'm reliving the trip with each installment and don't want it to be half over!

me, neither!

Your flowers look great! :thumbsup2 This is the first year that I've planted any actual flowers -- I had focused on getting shrubs/trees etc done. It's so nice to look outside and see them. And even better to see something Disney. I have a Goofy planter outside myself.

thanks! ray plants most of it and i take care of it. i love getting outside and working in the yard when it's nice out. right now it's too hot so i'm just sort of watching everything grow. i have some madonna lilies in the front yard that are getting ready to bloom. i'll take pics when they do!

I've also been admiring your photos on the POTD, etc. I love those threads. There are some really great photographers on the DIS. Of course, the one thing I check EVERY time I come to the DIS is your TR! :goodvibes

oh, those guys over there AMAZING! gdad, groucho, wdwensel and joe are some of my favorites, just to name a few. i love that thread! and you are flattering me........don't give me a big head! okay....maybe it's okay that you do. :rolleyes1

thanks for searching for me lol....im at disneyshopping.com they have some great deals on shirts....cant wait to wear them on my next Disney Trip.

You listed my favorites! Joe (I call him O-Joe) is probably my favorite, my photography hero. But all those you listed are great! I would be happy if my best picture measured up to some of their worst! :rotfl: I didn't take a tripod with me and I think that is crucial. I attempted to take some fireworks shots -- possibly the worst pics I've ever taken. SO, I guess that means I'll have to go back and try again! :thumbsup2

I feel the same way about MK as you do. I love it. I have never been in the treehouse either, my DH says too many stairs  The pictures look cool so I guess I'll go with the kids next year. Jiminy is one of my favs too. I never had my picture with him but I did see him on the Epcot tour bus when the characters used to come around on that (they still might do that, it's been almost 5 years since I've been there). Capt Hook is my DS9 favorite. I hope they have the Pirate and Princess party next year, I would love to do that with my kids.

Someone may have already asked you, but how did you lose your weight? I'm right at 165, was 135 when I got married 1 yr ago! You look great!

I love reading your trip report! Your Disney backpack is so cute..and if you don't mind me asking where did you get your cute dress?

i just bought 2 shirts from there! also, i actually went to the disney store today at the mall and they had t-shirts on sale for $2.99!!! the only problem was they were either XS or 2XL......so i didn't get any!

i have a mini tripod that fits in our backpack and that helps with fireworks pictures. although i can't adjust my shutter speed with my little camera so i don't get nearly as good shots as they do! i think we all subconciously don't do certain things so we can have an excuse to go back!

if they still do that at epcot, i've never seen it. i know what you're talking about, though. i hope you get to go to the P&PP with your kids, too! we had a BLAST there on friday night - you'll see later in the TR. it will take me forever to finish that segment because we had so much fun!

Someone may have already asked you, but how did you lose your weight? I'm right at 165, was 135 when I got married 1 yr ago! You look great!

thank you!!! the three biggest changes i made:

1. water, water and more water. i've always been a water drinker, but i would put it between diet cokes and sweet teas. well, i cut all that out and just stuck to water. i do allow myself 1-2 cups of coffee in the morning (with splenda & fat free creamer - it tastes the same as regular!) but other than that i pretty much stick to water. it's the BEST thing you can do for your body. and if you get sick of water buy some crystal lite packets for the water bottles - those help to break the boredom a little bit!

2. counting calories. the magic formula (at least for me) was goal weight x 12 = calorie intake per day. my goal weight was 130 pounds. so 130 x 12 = 1560. i bought a food journal and a little book that lists all kinds of food in it and i wrote down the calories of EVERYTHING i ate every day and i kept my calorie intake around 1500 per day. it wasn't hard! i didn't starve myself, just relearned how to eat and what i need to fuel my body. i also used a website (calorieking.com) to search for calorie counts if i couldn't find certain foods in my book. also, as long as you're on track and doing well, give yourself a break once a week. usually my cheat day was on sunday. now that doesn't mean that i ate twinkies all day......just that i gave myself a break from writing down everything and treated myself with a margarita or something.

3. exercise. i've always loved to exercise, so that's never been a problem. my problem is that i love weights and i hate cardio. so i was adding too much bulk and not burning enough calories. so i incorporated more cardio into my workout. i started running too. now i am NOT a runner by any means, so i do this thing where i run for 5 minutes, walk for 5 minutes, run for 5 minutes, walk for 5 minutes. my best friend is a trainer (anna - she will be joining my TR later on) and she says that's awesome for your heartrate.

hope that helps!!! :)

I love reading your trip report! Your Disney backpack is so cute..and if you don't mind me asking where did you get your cute dress?

thanks!!! :goodvibes i got the dress at marshall's, but that was back in april so i doubt they have it any more. you could try though!

Just wanted to add that the characters don't ride around in that red bus anymore. I used to love that - then they would get off and pose for pix ouotsied and autographs. Now you have to go into the Character Connection to see them.

All caught up. You have some great pictures from your trip.

I wonder if they stopped it due to safety for the CMs. a coworker of mine used to be a few characters and had to ride that bus as pooh, piglet and i forget who else.. anywho, she said all the characters almost fell down the stairs because their shoes/feet are so big and the stairs are small. She said it was really scary since they were steep and it can be pretty hard to see. Just a thought since you said it's no longer something they do and she did it in like 03 i think.

i figured because i hadn't seen them myself or seen any pictures in the last few years.

thanks!!! :goodvibes

very interesting! thanks for the info. it's cool that your friend played pooh and piglet. i didn't know they did more than one. the characters are always so good and they always have the same signature, so i just figured they stuck to one character. although i do have to say that the girl that played belle at epcot last year was the same girl i saw playing alice in MK this year.

so after passing some pirates in adventureland, we turned to see the wait at POTC......

DSC04486.jpg

10 minutes....score! we were definitely having luck with the crowds today. i think the leftover spring break crowds we experienced on sunday and a little bit on monday were finally gone! so we hopped in line.

DSC04487.jpg

once we got on the ride there were 3 high school-aged girls sitting behind us who were talking really loudly about who was dating so-and-so and who kissed who in the hotel room last night and what a skank so-and-so is. it was really annoying. then one of the girls has the nerve to say, "this better get good real quick. so far it sucks." how would you know???? you won't shut up long enough to enjoy it!!! but then when the drop came they were in mid-gossip-gab-fest and it totally scared them. :rotfl2: it was really funny! they shut up for the rest of the ride, thank goodness!

here are some pics. my pics are always horribleon this ride. and my captain jack sparrow pics were just horrendous! oh, and the davy jones mist thing wasn't working that day. that was a bummer.

we want the red head!

DSC04490.jpg

DSC04494.jpg

after we got off the ride we browsed the gift shop for awhile. we both wanted pirate mickey ears for the pirate & princess party on friday, but we decided to wait until later to buy them.

next we headed off to frontierland to check out the waits for splash and BTMRR. on the way ran into the end of woody's roundup.

DSC04496.jpg

DSC04497.jpg

this picture cracks me up - i see at least 4 people taking the same picture i am. i'm sure there are more! :rotfl:

DSC04498.jpg

we walked around the corner to check the wait for splash and this guy walking by hands me 2 fastpasses. he said they had to leave and couldn't use them. how cool! :yay:

DSC04499.jpg

i looked at the time and it was 12:30, so we were good to go! we ran over and grabbed fastpasses to BTMRR and then hopped in the fastpass entrance for splash. i, being the nerd that i am, wore a poncho during the ride. last september i got SOAKED on splash and i was miserable for the next 2 hours with wet clothes. so that wasn't going to happen again! ray decided he was too cool to wear a poncho. then we get up to the front and the CM puts us in the front row. ray was like, "oh, great!!!" :rotfl:

here's our redneck picture. i love this ride!

DSC04500.jpg

ray got pretty wet but not as much as i would've hoped.

our fastpasses to BTMRR weren't ready yet, but when we got up to the line to check out the wait it was only 15 minutes, so we just hopped in line. jordan's mojo was kickin today! :yay:

here we are enjoying our crazy train ride! i think i took this going up the first incline in the dark.

DSC04501.jpg

the view from the second incline.

DSC04502.jpg

after we got off we found two lucky people to give our fastpasses to and decided to head over to liberty square. we had been talking about seeing the hall of presidents just because we didn't do it last time and it's another one of those things that we remember as kids.

saw this guy on the way......wonder what he's looking for?

DSC04503.jpg

and AGAIN we saw woody's roundup. they must show this a good bit because we had just seen the ending 45 minutes earlier! we stayed for a bit this time and it was pretty cute.

DSC04504.jpg

DSC04506.jpg

continued in next post: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=26007707&postcount=880

this was in the waiting room at the hall of presidents.....george dub-ya....

DSC04508.jpg

this guy was the announcer for before you go into the theater, but he also was doing presidential trivia while we were waiting. and let me tell you.....he knows way more about past presidents than i ever hope to know. isn't that kind of sad?

DSC04509.jpg

um.....about the hall of presidents.....yeah.....not gonna do that one again! what a waste of a half hour that is. i mean, it's cool to see all the past presidents in animatronic form up there in front of you, but it's really just BORING. and i do have to comment on how they highlighted a few and andrew jackson was one of them. they talked about how he was such a great person and so brave. i did a paper on andrew jackson for a history class in college and he was no such thing. he was responsible for chasing the american indians out of tennesee and telling them to go to oklahoma. and then when he realized there was oil there, he chased them away from there, too!

okay.....sorry. i'll get off my anti-andrew jackson soapbox now. :snooty:

oh, by the way, ray videotaped the hall of presidents. did you want to see that? yeah....i didn't think so.

after our nap (:rolleyes1 ), we decided to head towards fantasyland.

BAD IDEA!!!! check out all the strollers. MADNESS!

DSC04510.jpg

no more mojo. at least not in fantasyland! so THAT'S where everybody in MK was! it was around 1:55 by this time and so we decided to catch the 2:10 storytime with belle show. i had never done this before and i really wanted to see it since beauty and the beast is one of my favorites!

oh, i forgot to mention, as we were walking around the corner into fantasyland where you see the line for peter pan's flight, ray goes, "holy crap. what is that line for???" when i told him peter pan he couldn't believe it. i love that ride but i'd never wait an hour for it. i don't understand why people don't just fastpass this? :confused3 although they could've been out of FPs for the day.....not sure.

we passed tigger on the way to belle's garden. the wonderful thing about tiggers......is i'm the only one!

DSC04511.jpg

we made it to belle's story time in plenty of time. we found a seat in the shade :cloud9: and waited for the show to start. belle came out and she was just gorgeous!!!

DSC04512.jpg

DSC04514.jpg

this show was so cute! belle picks kids from the audience to help her tell her story. this was maurice the inventor...

DSC04515.jpg

and this little guy was gaston. he was so cute!

DSC04516.jpg

these little girls were lumiere, cogsworth, chip and mrs. potts......

DSC04517.jpg

when belle went to pick the beast, she said, "and the castle was ruled by a hideous beast....and he's sitting right there on that back wall!!!" and she pointed just over my shoulder to a man sitting on the wall. this poor guy was TOTALLY shocked. you could tell he didn't want to have any part in the show and was happy to just be taking a break, but then he got picked to be the main character! it was soooooo funny! ray and i were cracking up at him! :lmao: he played along really well and it made the show really funny. his wife was sitting right next to me and she was having a blast! :goodvibes

DSC04518.jpg

the beast and belle dancing....

DSC04521.jpg

DSC04522.jpg

the beast gets turned back into a handsome prince.....

DSC04525.jpg

encore! encore!

DSC04527.jpg

this was SUCH a cute show and i'll definitely be back to see it again. if you have kids or are just a fan of B&B, you must see this if you can fit it in!

up next.......
