~Our March 'Just Engaged',freezing,and full of surprises trip~Updated 6/23 p.76

Oh my gosh. I'm laughing at the Dinosaur CM giving you guys a double take. I can picture it in my head and it's hilarious.

But that's no fun that you got stuck for 20 minutes. And you're right. At least it didn't break down while you were "back in time". Figuring out how to get home to 2010 would have been quite the challenge. :rotfl:

And my family always picks out new ornaments from the DTD Christmas shop too! It's always so tough trying to decide which one I want, so I usually end up with like 3.

It's so good, can't wait to order it on our arrival night to watch Wishes :teeth:

Thanx for the directions, will defo look out for that pathway. Really don't want to go through ITTBAB again :sad2:

I will have to try it!

Hope you find it okay! Ugh, I don't like ITTBAB either!

I thought you were going to say that you got some kind of special fastpasses when Dinosaur! broke down. My family doesn't like that ride a whole lot, so I doubt that we'll be going on it this summer.

I was hoping we would have!!

Back to Back Dino rides, what a treat! This is one of DH's favorite rides. We usually use the mentality of taking whatever bus gets here first too especially for DTD and getting to another resort.

I love Dinosaur! It always makes me laugh.

Great update! I can't believe you rode Dinosaur three times. What fun!

I'm glad you got to go home to OKW. How sad to see your "home" and not be able to stay there. We'll be staying at OKW next June - I can't wait! :cheer2: (I've never been before to OKW)

We got lucky that day!

You've never been to OKW before?! Well if you need any help with anything, let me know!

hahahahahahah :rotfl: i'm going back through and catching up on tink's updates and i couldn't help but comment on this. chris is so funny! i can picture him saying that in my head right now. i wonder how many people he scared when he said that out loud... SUCKAAAAAAAS! ;)

Haha, Chris is hilarious.

I know, seriously!! I don't know what we'd do without them!

Some people reeeaaallly get into St Patty's Day that's for sure!

i'm finally all caught up with your trip report! it took me long enough huh?! sorry girl! aw, i know exactly what you mean though about passing certain stores/rides and thinking about the rest of your family and not being able to do it. i remember passing coral reef on our last trip and wishing the rest of the family was with us... my little brother walked out with his fork and cloth napkin and we all just couldn't stop laughing. we were like, "seriously?! how random is that?!" hahaha. :goodvibes you're right though.. it's those kind of memories that make it so much fun!

Thanks for catching up girl! I know how busy life can get, so don't feel bad!

Aw, I'm glad you have those kind of memories too.

Last June, we stopped right before you get transported back to now and the guy is yelling "They're not going to make it! They're not going to make it!" Right after he said that, everything went black and we came to a halt. Somebody said "Well, I guess we didn't make it." :rotfl:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

That is hilarious. I probably would have been crying from laughing so hard. Silly little one-liners like that make me laugh like no other. Especially when it's some random person you don't know who says it. That just makes it even funnier to me.

Haha, I always forget that SS is your "home" too! For some reason I keep thinking that the Y&BC is yours. :confused3

haha, that would be cool but nope, it is SSR. We love it there. :thumbsup2

It was so funny!! And the most perfect thing to say at the time!

SS is beautiful! :thumbsup2

I can't believe how many times you rode Dino. I can skip it totally! But it cracks me up that you know all the lines and have fun with quoting them. :lmao: I love it when others pass along a bit of the magic too. :thumbsup2

And yes, I"m sure everyone around you was glad you kept your Dawa Delights inside. :rotfl2:

You are right. What point is there to blowing up over a late bus?? Does it really accomplish ANYTHING, except to make you look like an idiot??

:confused3

It's very sweet you always want your family to be there with you. It really shows how much you enjoy your vacations with them! :goodvibes

How nice that someone gave you 2 FPs to a ride you like. I can take or leave Dinosaur. Don't tell anyone... it's not one of my favorites.:sad2:

Sometimes people need to chill out. I'm sure the guy was frustrated but getting upset and screaming at a bus driver isn't going to get him anywhere.:sad2::sad2:

I hope you went to eat at Raglan Rd. :scratchin

We were so happy getting in Dino that much!

I know! I'm sure his wife was embarassed.

You know how much we love it when we're all together!

That lady was so nice!

I know, like I said, I'm sure his wife was embarassed!

You'll just have to wait and see.....:rolleyes1

Tinkgurl, today I was reading the Hidden Magic book and I was at the timeline for Magic Kingdom and reading about when Splash Mountain first opened. I don't have the book w/ me right now but it was sometime in late 1992 and I was remembering the first time I rode it was in the summer of 1993 - NO FPs! The wait time posted was 120 mins. :scared1: We got in line, in the heat, and weaved, in the heat, and went up stairs, and went down stairs, in the heat, and weaved some more, in the heat...for 120 mins (which actually felt twice that long). for FPs!!

How awesome that you guys were given FPs! We've both received them and given them away. I didn't realize it and our weekend trip in March, we came home with some FPs for Jungle Cruise and Thunder Mountain. I was sooooo upset!! :headache: I hate leaving the parks with FPs and not have given them away! I kept them for awhile b/c I thought maybe I'd put them in a scrapbook or something; I finally threw them away the other day b/c it upset me everytime I looked at them.

Great update! I remember the first time I rode Splash. I was with my older sister and my dad and we waited about 2 hours as well. I was both excited and nervous, but the ride was SO worth the wait! (I think it was in 1992..the year it opened) Thank goodness someone came up with FP's. That person is a genius.

I can't believe you went on Dinosaur twice in a row! We really like that ride and Madison can't wait to ride it again. I'm now told I'm not allowed to cover her eyes at the end like last time. She didn't get to see the big scary dino (where they take your picture).

Exactly the same experience I remember for Splash! :headache: So glad they have FP's now!

Oh my gosh, that stinks about coming home with your FP's! I just love giving some away if we can't use them.

I think the dino at the very end is scary! The one that pops out right over your head.

How well I remember those days!

Ugh, so glad they're gone!

Day 5 continued: March 17, 2010

We left off just getting to DTD and deciding where to eat dinner. I mentioned that I have been wanting to eat at Earl of Sandwich for a long time now, so we went over to check out the menu. The line was really long, but it seemed to be moving fast. We decided to go for it. I told Kristen where we were eating and she was super happy! While we were standing in line, a CM came up to us and asked us if this was our first time eating there. We said "Yes", and she told us "You have made a very wise decision. We are known for having the best sandwiches in the world!" I thought to myself, "Wow! They better be that good with the spiel you're giving!" :lmao:

As we got closer to the front, I started eyeing the desserts. Wow! They sure have some yummy ones! I couldn't make up my mind between the chocolate pudding and the cheesecake. I decided to make my final decision when we got to it.

As we were getting closer to the front, the line behind us continued to grow. I was amazed at how popular this place was! That's when I started getting excited to try a sandwich. I ordered the Italian hot sandwich, which comes with Salami, Capicola, Ham, Mortadella, Zesty Italian Dressing, Mozzarella & Roma Tomato. For dessert, I had the chocolate pudding. Fiance ordered the Full Montagu hot sandwich, which comes with Roasted Beef, Turkey, Swiss & Cheddar Cheese, Lettuce, Roma Tomato & Earl's Mustard. For dessert, he had a fruit bowl. Great. Way to make me feel like a pig with my chocolate pudding! :rotfl:

Since it was packed inside, we decided to find a table outside. We found one in the corner, on the side of the building. While we were sitting down, we realized that there was a kiddie hula hoop contest going on not too far from us. It was so cute! When they got to the final round, the DJ running it had a microphone and was going around asking the kids their names and where they were from. The first two were from Alabama, but they didn't know each other. Then, the third one says they were from Alabama too! The DJ asks the kid if he knew either one of the other two. He didn't. The DJ thought that was hilarious. The fourth one wasn't from Alabama...and when the DJ got to the fifth one, he goes "Let me guess, you're from Alabama." And the kid was! :lmao: But none of them knew each other!

About the food...okay, seriously. Anyone who has not been to Earl yet, NEEDS to go there next time you're at DTD! I took one bite of my sandwich and was in love. It was SO good. I couldn't stop talking about how good it was. I texted Sis and said, "Now I know where we're eating in July at DTD!" :rotfl: Fiance loved his as well. When we were all done and FULL as can be, we left Earl completely satisfied with our meal.

It was time to start shopping! We stopped in Tren-D first, which Fiance soon left and went into the Team Mickey store. I couldn't believe all the Alice in Wonderland stuff that was already out. (The movie had just come into theaters.) They really went all out with it! I was sad, there wasn't anything in there that really grabbed my eye.

After I found Fiance, we headed to the WoD store. We actually stayed together this time! We wandered through every room, then went back to what I wanted to get. I ended up getting a Minnie shirt, which you'll see in the July TR. I also got a Minnie and Mickey kissing magnetic pic frame for our refridgerator in our apartment.

After WoD, we had to make the stop that Fiance was excited about- Legoland. One of his traditions for every vacation is to buy something from there and then start building it in the room when we come back at night before bed. This time and last June though, he hasn't really found anything that caught his attention. It doesn't help that it's always packed when we're in there. Seriously, it is so hard to move around! We looked a little bit and Fiance said, "Let's get out of here!"

Next, we decided to head over to the Harley Davidson shop. Cue Fiance's drooling. There were two bikes in the windows. We'd shop a little, then he'd go back to them, shop a little, go back to them. :rotfl2: I managed to get him out of there though!

After there, we just sort-of walked around. I wanted to see how busy Raglan Road would be since it was St. Patty's Day. WOW! There were people everywhere there. People all decked out in St. Patty gear waiting to eat. And all the people that were eating at the outside tables ALL had those St.Patty's Day leprechaun hats on. All of them! It was insane. We could hardly make it through there!

Once we got on the other side, we decided to head back to the popcorn stand that we saw across from Tren-D. It was a journey just getting back there! More and more people were coming to DTD and it was just becoming a mob scene. Is that what it's like every night there? This was our first time not being there during the day and it was sure different! Once we had our popcorn in our hands, we headed to the margarita stand to get some drinks of course! I had a Margarita and Fiance had a Rum Runner. We were going to sit at one of the tables down by the water, but it was freezing! So we settled for a table up a little farther from the water. Here's our view of the table, which is also the pic I sent from my phone to Kristen:

dtd.jpg

Both drinks were really good! We had to hang onto our popcorn containers though because it was really windy! While we were sitting there, a stand was starting to open up not too far from us. We were interested to see what they were selling since we had never noticed the place before. It ended up being a place that was selling everything for left handed people!! They had just about anything you could imagine.

After we were done with our popcorn and drinks, we decided to call it a night and head back to Pop. That's when it hit me...tomorrow is our last full day. :sad1: ALREADY! Vacations sure do fly by fast! We made our way to the bus stop and didn't have to wait too long. Of course, we had to make a stop at Pleasure Island first. I saw Disney Quest and thought of Kristen and Chris and how much fun they had there. Isn't it amazing how we all go to the same places and have different experiences. That's what makes TR's so interesting!

Once we made it back to Pop, we headed for the gift shop to pick up our packages that we had sent from Epcot. They were all there! :yay: We headed back to the room, and drank some champagne while I updated my notes and we watched the end of "Independence Day" on tv.

~Up next:

A magical day at the MK

Earl of Sandwich is AMAZING :worship: it's our favorite place to eat at in DTD, it's so worth it!

GREAT choice with regards to eating at Earl of Sandwich. That CM was right, they do have the best sandwiches in the world. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a fun evening at DTD. The story about all of the kids from Alabama is too funny. And that's a bummer that you couldn't find anything you liked at TrenD. I know how you feel though. Last summer, I was dead set on buying something there because FINALLY there is a store with merchandise that I'd wear more often than just while at Disney, but when we got there I was so overwhelmed that I ended up not buying anything. I think all of the bright colors were distracting me.

okay - so I finally got caught up on your TR! We finally tried Yak & Yeti this time around and enjoyed it. I thought of you the whole time we were eating there!

I've never done the MJT but we did the Pangani one this trip. I never feel like I have enough time to do all the things I want to do, no matter how long we are at disney!

We were at DTD one night on our trip and it wasn't that packed. maybe it was because it was St. Patty's Day? WOD was packed, but we could easily walk around without it being too crowded.

Definitely try a Pina Colava next time you are there in July. It's so good! We always order them (sometimes with the alcohol and sometimes without) and now our little gal enjoys them as well (nonalcoholic of course).

Congrats on finally making a rope drop! We've only ever seen the rope drop show at DHS.

See? All these years we've been showing you our Earl sandwiches in pictures, and you could only imagine what they tasted like.

Now, you know! Yum + eeeee! :cool1:

I've been there on St. Patrick's Day, and there are some wacky outfits, indeed!

Very true about seeing different things. When I see something new in someone's report, I make a mental note, because I really want to see everything for myself. :goodvibes

Legoland and World of Disney can both be packed, and it makes the shopping part a lot less enjoyable, especially if you are also watching kids. Maybe they'll have some new stuff for him this summer. LG will enjoy building some Lego things, too, won't he?

Nice night at DTD. We usually hit it a night too and it's usually crowded. I'm going to have to give EOS another shot. I tried it once but thought it was just okay. I do like the sound of the sandwich you got. When I went the only choice I had for desert was a cookie?:confused3 It's real hard to get DH to eat anywhere else except for WPE, it's the family favorite.

Last full day is so sad, I hope it was a great one.

We tried Earl for the first time on our last trip and agree those sandwiches are yummy! Glad you liked it so much. I can't wait to go back and try something different.
DH is a LEGO fanatic so we gotta stop there every time. It stinks it's always so packed and crazy in there.
We have a Mickey & Minnie kissing photo frame magnet on our fridge that we got on our honeymoon. :lovestruc
Thanks for the update - helps me avoid working haha!
