Ok, so by now you all know what our bus ride to the ASSp was like so I won't re-hash that.
We finally arrived at the hotel and we made our way to our building, Center Court. We walked by the pool and it was like a frat party at Animal House...hey - maybe if I was their age, I'd be out there with them, but (and the fact that I was tired didn't help), but it was a zoo and let me tell you - these kids and their so called chaperones (or lack there of) trashed the place...there was trash all over the ground, floating in the pool, etc...it was pretty gross and I was dreading, by the sight of the outside of this place - even at night in the dark - at what our room would be like...
We got to our building and realized that we were on the top floor so we searched a bit and located the elevator to call it a night. The elevator was disgusting...the floor was soaked with God knows what and the walls/doors were almost grimy, with filth and handprints, etc...
Yeah, yeah, I know, it's an elevator - they get dirty. It happens. I'll let it slide. The elevator doors open up on the 3rd floor and ah yes, the frat party continues. Great. I can't explain it, but just walking to room felt...icky. I had the same feeling I've gotten when forced to find a Motel 6 on 95 at 2am so I don't fall asleep behind the wheel. You know, where just the sight of the outside makes you consider sleeping in the car?
We got to our room, took a deep breath, swore to each other we'd never stay here again and opened the door to our room....

I was afraid to look...but I did....and guess what?
The room was immaculate! Phew!!!

Ok, it was small...I was distressed when I saw no coffee pot (I forgot about that little fact), but really - the room was spotless...no - I didn't do the Mommie Dearest white glove test, but it looked cleaner than our room at the Poly when we first checked in. Now don't get me wrong, the Poly was NOT a dirty room, but dust was clearly visible on things like the towel animal and the furniture and there was a couple of times that there'd be little scraps of paper, etc. that we may have dropped in the morning were still on the floor after housekeeping had been and gone. Anywhooo...my point is...first impressions can really hurt a place from the outside. I was pleasantly surprised.
It was pretty noisy from the kids running up and down the halls and yelling, etc...but I honestly don't recall hearing anything from the inside, like from another room, just outside noises.
We eventually settled in for the night and the beds were pretty uncomfortable...but hey - I wasn't afraid of what would crawl around the dark so that's a plus!
I woke up early and went to get DH and I some "Nescacrap" and this is where I have to jump up and down and insist that every hotel room - I don't care what "category" it is - needs a coffee maker!! Do you have any idea how scary I look at 6am???? I can't take a shower - don't want to wake the boys...best I can do is try and calm the rats nest hair of mine and hope that there's not a lot of people up yet.
Oh and I had to go to the store and pick up packages I'd had shipped and bring them to the car before DH wakes to see the 55 gallon trash bag (no kidding) they packed all my World of Disney stuff in and somehow "hide" it in the car...YA...that'll work.
So I purty myself up a bit and head out...And ya know that nasty impression I'd had of the outside last night? Well it was worse in the light!!

The hedges/shrubs were in desperate need of trimming, there was trash everywhere...and I mean everywhere...in the bushes...garbage all over and in the pool. It was nasty. I couldn't believe my eyes! What a shame.
Here's some pics of the outside...see? You can't make this stuff up...
It's hard to see from this angle - I was up on the 3rd floor, but come on, Disney's known for their landscaping. It was kind of disheartening to see stuff overgrown, etc....I know, a small complaint, maybe for some not worth mentioning, but...
Here's a closer view of the hedges...and it wasn't just this one...everything on the grounds was over grown and unkempt looking.
And oh - do ya love this? Look at what was in the bushes...
This kind of stuff...clothing, pizza boxes, drink containers, bottles...were strewn all over the place...I guess I didn't get a picture of the pool area after all - I can't find it.

Maybe I deleted accidentally, but you can probably imagine what it looked like...if you look closely (DMama here's your chance) you'll see an unmentionable item to the left. Someone was missing their tighty whities when they woke up this morning!
The grounds weren't the only thing that turned me off...I mentioned the disgustingness of the elevators the night before? Yeah, they were still nasty...I took the stairs they were so gross...like they'd been puked in, pee'd in...who knows...
All around I saw things like this too...
Ok, so by now you all get the idea...
Maybe they were having a rough week due to Pop Warner...I hope. I'm sure that it's got to be unusual as I don't often hear of these things...I'm not officially a-scared of staying at an All Star resort again...
I got the boys up, we showered and dressed and got the heck outta there!! I must say, it made it a bit easier to say goodbye to WDW this time...
I'll be back with final thoughts and then a new TR for our quick trip 2 weeks ago!!!
LY/MI - You all know who you are!!!
So there you have it folks...
