Our little thread of BIG Resort changes*OLD THREAD link on last pg. to new thread!

Okay, I had to stop in the middle of this to head out for my torture session... so I'll have missed lots since then:

:grouphug:

Ginny & Candace: I'm dancin' for ya, ladies... but it's not a pretty sight. At. all.

funny-dancing-smiley-emoticon.gif

Yep! We've mastered THAT plan. We are Jets and Bears fans... and Giants fans.

Here ya go!!

Thank you for the bag, I needed that. :rotfl: So, what's the Magic-House consensus on Cutler? (The hubs and the child are Bears fans; I'm the odd gal out in this house.)

Checking in from the infirmary!

Are you feeling better now, my gaming compadre? Hope the germs have abated. (What games did you pick up, btw?)

Good Afternoon Everyone!
I have booked Sanna for my arrival night dinner - at 7:15 pm. Excited to share dinner with Janet, Rosie and hopefully Linda if she can book her flight for the 3rd. I've never eaten at Sanna yet, so it will be a nice , new dining experience! Although a bit dark in Dec by 7:15 pm to see many animals I'm thinking!

Sanaa! I kinda wish we had eaten in the restaurant but the bar area was nice and quiet -- only had apps and drinks. The whole place has got such a nice atmosphere with all those windows. :goodvibes

Miss Never have been to Jiko, one reason I keep going back and forth about eating there. I am not even sure if it was there in 2006? I'm sure it was and I just don't recall seeing it

We really enjoyed our meal at HBD last trip everything was great, atmosphere was quiet, food was very good and our server was the best.

Thanks for another HBD rec. :thumbsup2 Jiko IS kinda hidden, actually; I think because Boma is so encompassing and the lobby/stairwell is so grand. I had walked by it a few times not realizing. I finally asked my hubs where it was... and he looked at me like I had three heads. (That's a normal look of his for some reason. :rolleyes1 )

You will have to post pics, I bet she'll look adorable!

I certainly will! Only this crew understands all things Disney. :grouphug:

It was room 2561. It was right on the corner and is where the heart is on the map below...

That's EXACTLY were we were, just one flight up on the third floor. A few rooms in from the very end of the hallway though. Was a TOTAL hike but the animal viewing down there was EXCELLENT because that's where they fed them and the trough was right there. Loved that view!

Hi Ladies,
My cousin that lives in Nova Scotia has been trying out for the NHL and has been picked up by the New York Rangers, AND he has made the first round of cuts!

The look on his face IS priceless! Wow, that's VERY exciting. Got my fingers crossed he makes it through. How cool is that?!

She was a trooper today, her first day with her aircast and crutches. She will be ok. I really really want to tell her about Disney though. And next Tuesday is her sedation dental work. Now THAT I am worried about. But she will be ok. I keep repeating this to myself can you tell??

Is she getting used to the crutches/cast? Poor kiddo. I bet the reveal took some of the stress out of it now! :goodvibes

Just when I was starting to think that maybe I would hold off until July for our trip, I get into another huge fight with my parents. Yup, definitely going for Easter!

Ugh.

As of now I have all of our Breakfasts at Boma, Bob is a Happy camper all day if he has a big buffet breakfast.

:lmao: ... keep Magic's offer in mind in case you want to off-load him for the morning! That breakfast is so spectacular. I kinda wanted to go back twice this past trip but we opted to head to the park instead.

I am here..well not on the DIS but okay:upsidedow Miss you gals :grouphug: I have had so much going on..HRH is having issues, I tried to get the school involved and the child study team lost the paperwork ALL her paperwork..hence, I contacted the state bureau..now we are rockin..

I am taking 2 months off school effective October 20th..I am in the middle of just a sense of being completely overwhelmed..but I will survive (cue Gloria Gaynor music)

On the WDW front. NO changes, still at Poly, boys at ASMu, flights are purchased and I ordered my MVMCP tix yesterday!

Hugs to you, my friend. You really need that time off ... and that time away. And, we expect tons of MVMCP pics of the kiddos... and Christmas trees and various other holiday things for us to swoon over. :lovestruc

I do have to share my awesome DH moment...so yesterday he asks me where I'd go to get a massage and ends up telling me to make an appt. and he'll watch the kids. After all that's been going on, that I deserve some me time. then I wake up this morning to this cute thank you card that he completely filled with his own words thanking me for being such a wonderful, supportive, strong wife and that he couldn't do all this and take care of his mom if not for me...made me cry... But good tears.

Awww, that's LOVELY. :worship:

Ummm..ladies have you seen the thread on the Community Board with the title "Clint Eastwoods son....WOWZA!!!"?

You MUST check it out and have a peek at that man. He is gorgeous!!

I know where I'm headed after I hit "submit"... :rolleyes1

Well...our secrets out!

Are we there yet, are we there yet? How much longer?! How many more days?! :rotfl:

MAGIC You'd give him back real soon :rotfl: I am sorta thinking this trip may be very low key, other than going to F&W I do think we will enjoy more resort time and just relax but we'll see. I have only 2 park days planned the other days we will play it by ear day by day

Can't think of many other places I'd love to spend resort time at. It's such a beautiful resort with a laid-back feel ... I hope Bob loves it as much as you do. :goodvibes

Hi everyone! :)

Well -- I am a resort changer after all, lol - I made a change to my reservation. I am not staying at Pop now after all. I decided it would be nice to not have to change resorts 2 days in a row -- I am now booked at POR in a pool view Royal Room for Dec 3 and 4th (sharing a room with Rosie) then I move to French Quarter (with Christine) for Dec 5-9. So only 2 resorts for my trip now! And one easy changeover on the 4th. I'm very excited to be trying both sides of POR, and can't wait to stay in a royal room :)

miss e I got GTA V and The Last Of Us. Daniel got Animal Crossing for his DS. What were you looking for that was sold out? I may pick up something extra when I go to pick them up tonight. ;)

I am feeling much better today. Work is incredibly slow. 2 more hours until I get to go home and play my games for the entire night lol

Ok....here goes....DD6 wants to quit gymnastics. :scared1:

She has been doing it for a year now, and it's the only sport she has actually ever stuck with. (She has tried soccer, softball, dance...). And, she's really good at gymnastics! She got gymnast of the year for her age group at her gymnastics school which has multiple state champions.

She has always been extremely shy, and when she started gymnastics a year ago, she really started getting confident and breaking out of her shell. We were so proud that she stick with it and then to get gymnast of the year and be moved up to "pre-team" (which is the funnel program to the competitive team) was amazing.

But, pre-team meant that she started going to gymnastics 4 hours a week instead of just 1. And the classes are harder, and the girls are older, and it has been an absolute struggle every class just getting her out on the floor.

So today, she didn't even want to put on her leotard. :sad2: I tried to reason with her and even had DH talk to her at length (he is still at work, and quite honestly doesn't have to deal with looking like the psycho parent that is dragging her kid out on the floor and "forcing" her to do something she clearly doesn't want to).

DH and I were always very involved in athletics and activities. We never quit anything. This is very hard for us, but I'm tired. I can't have every class time turn into a battle. I have the school owner calling Megan tonight to talk, but I don't know if that will help. She doesn't even want to go back to her old class once a week.

What do you do in that situation? I'm at a loss. :confused3

Miss I very well may have missed Jiko too :rotfl2: I had planned on at some point planning a non park trip and staying at AKL. As of now I have arrival day just hang at the resort. Monday Epcot for F&W. Tues am resort then MK BOG and Dessert Party. Wed, Thurs and Fri no definate park plans yet we do have 5 day tickets so I hate to waste those, we will probably go back to Epcot and maybe DHS and AK( we skipped last 2 trips) if Bob wants to be a lump on a log fine with me I plan on playing with my new camera a lot, he can find a spot and park his butt :rotfl2:

Marie The change sound so great :thumbsup2 I love the Royal Rooms :cloud9:

Dani Game therapy sounds like a plan :)

Candace  I so feel for you. I went thru similar situations with my boys and since I never was allowed to participate in anything as a child I let my boys join and try/do it all.

Of course they both went thru wanting to quit Boy Scouts, Guitar Lessons, Saxophone Lessons, Tennis lessons the list goes on and on and I did not push them but I have to say I came to regret letting them quit later.

At the time I felt it wasn't worth the fighting to make them stick it out longer but looking back I am not sure I made the right choice.

My heart goes out to you being a parent is so very hard at times.

The thing is....I have fought with her on this. When she started a year ago, I was initially literally having to be out on the floor with her during class for the first few weeks, until she eventually developed her confidence. But, that was a huge struggle...when I look at I'm really proud at what she has accomplished because she did stick it out...for a whole year. So, I have not let her off easily. And, like I said, it has been a battle for the past month again....and it's just getting worse. She just really doesn't want to do it, though I think she will miss it. I think that between starting 1st grade at a new school, and the increase in the gymnastics hours, she has just met her tipping point. And she knows how disappointed DH and I are...the little thing just came over and told me how she's the best reader in her class and gets to read to everyone because of it. :goodvibes

I'm not sure if we will know the true reason behind her motivation to quit. But I also can't force her to do something that is physically making her sick either (which has been the case since the pre team classes started)...she is literally crying and dry heaving. Not cool.

Can she take some time off? Away from it and then see how she feels?

Maybe she should have had the summer off? :confused3

Candace: I feel for you. What a hard choice to make. I vote to take her out.:duck: Both DD9 and DD4 were approached to join pre-competitive gymnastics, but I took a look at the long hours and I just couldn't do it at their ages. I couldn't bear the thought of them ending the school day and literally going straight to the gym, and then home to bed.

A friend of ours also was a similar situation, her DD8 was accepted into the pre0competitive team, did well for a year or so, then when the time came for them to move up to competitive she did not make it, but all her friends did. She was devastated. Different situation from yours, but still hard on the child and mom.

I have let my kids quit one thing, and that was dance. They joined last year for the 3rd year in a row, and after a month, it was clear they were not enjoying it. Same struggles getting them there, crying, upsets, not worth it.

I personally think (and many other will not agree) but I think it is too much to expect from them at that age. But only you and your DH can make the choice. She may just need a break for a while, and then may begin to miss it.

Hope that helps, and this is only my opinion.

Thanks Jen

Actually, I think the situation has been averted...she approached me and said she liked her old class better. She said that she loves gymnastics but that new class scared her and she couldn't keep up (and being truthful, it was painful to watch).

Sooooo, she has decided to stick with gymnastics but go back to once a week and one hour per week. The new class will still be higher than the one she was in last year so she will continue to develop and then she can decide on whether to join pre-team again. :goodvibes

She was making herself sick over pre-team, and that's not healthy. Especially for a little 6 year old.

She is happy, and we are happy. All is well. :grouphug:

Sounds like you found the perfect solution :)

It's so funny....this was seriously at crisis level for me....I was being emotionally drained. I called DH, texted my best friend, and posted to you guys for help.

No, it is sooo hard making these kinds of decisions. Glad to help out in any way. She sounds like a very smart girl.::yes::

jenny No I am just sitting it out on the tix I can not deal with calling countless times ya know

I am getting excited for AKL

Sheila: I know it does get tiring calling all the time. Not that I have done it.:rolleyes1 I really can't wait to hear about AKL.

Love it! Gonna be a long 56 days now but will be so much fun counting down with the kids!

Sheila: They are counting down already, and little DD4 must have said thank you to me 5 times today. So cute.

:banana::banana::banana: enjoy the anticipation!!

Sue: Thanks! We all know the anticipation is half the fun right!;)

The look on his face IS priceless! Wow, that's VERY exciting. Got my fingers crossed he makes it through. How cool is that?!Is she getting used to the crutches/cast? Poor kiddo. I bet the reveal took some of the stress out of it now! :goodvibesI know where I'm headed after I hit "submit"... :rolleyes1Are we there yet, are we there yet? How much longer?! How many more days?! :rotfl:

Miss: Well, Shawn didn't make it to the big show, but they are keeping him on the farm team Hartford. So it is still good news.:goodvibes Kailey is doing ok, she gets very annoyed at the "space boot" though and the crutches are chaffing her little armpits.

SO....did you look at him?? I don't usually droll over other men, only ever had a weakness for Andy Garcia  but he is one good looking man!!

And yes it is going to be a long stretch, but I am sure it will go fast. :p

Candace I vote for taking her out. Perhaps taking a break from it will make her realize how much she misses it and her friends, and she will want to go back to her regular weekly class.

Jen thank you! I have never been so happy to rip open a video game. I think I'm worse than Danimal! :lmao:

So it was recommended I join you guys here. lol.

We are planning a trip for next September and so far I have booked the poly and the CR. But am feeling I might change to gF. how does everyone finally decide where to stay?????? AKL was a consideration too. :rotfl2:
