My next two classes are computers (why I didn't get offered that my first term...beyond me) and Dance appreciation :yay: my laptop is unfortunately coming to Florida :confused3

Well, I just thought I was getting a break. Turns out next session ends on September 1st. Instead of getting the next 8 weeks off (after this class is over), I get to take 2 classes. Ugh!! I'm going to take a nap before dealing with financial aid and registering for next session. Good news is I won't have any classes for most, if not all of football season, so I won't miss any of the Joey's games.

At least the weekend is almost here .... maybe you can slow down for a day or so and take it easy ..... plan a trip or two??? :confused3

Love the picture of Sam and speaking of her ........

Happy Birthday to Sam!!

Janet - your dd is beautiful! Happy Bday to her! I get the same "lip" from my dd (age 14) when I ask her to pose for a pic. No mom, I don't have time, blah blah. But then she strikes a pose with a pretty grin. You better catch it on the first try because it disappears and she moves on with her busy life!!!

Thanks for the congrats for my dd on dance team!!!

Happy Birthday dear Sam! :bday: Great news about not having to go back to Rochester this weekend!

Way to go Sam! :thumbsup2 Gotta work out now so you can eat some major birthday goodies without any guilt on the weekend! :cake:

So sorry for the loss you and wookie experienced:hug:, but on a much brighter note..................

HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS TO OUR POP PRINCESSES' DAUGHTER SAM!!!!!:cheer2::bday::cake:

Just don't let other people guilt you with the "well at least you have a job" when your expressing stress about your job. You have every right to those feelings and don't let people make you feel otherwise. I hope today is a better day. You can always look at it this way, if it does get bad enough that you want to find another job, it's easier to find a new job when your already working than it is when you don't have a job. Who knows, maybe your dream job is out there, just waiting for you to apply.

WOO HOO on not having to go back this weekend!! Maybe you can just have some much needed family fun.

Happy Birthday to Sam!! She's so pretty!!

First, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAM!!!!! party::bday:party:

Janet - sorry work is a downer :sad2: But it is a great day to be happy and celebrate! And yay on not having to go back to Rochester this weekend :yay: Oh and DVC is on hold until we know more about DH's company, the sale is still pending and so much can happen :scared:

princess: miss Sam..:bday::jumping1:

Janet-A very happy birthday to your sweet Sam!!! party::bday:

Janet B: We overlapped posts earlier today by minutes. What a beautiful photo of Sam. Happiest of birthdays wishes being sent to her. :butterfly

My friends, thank you all for your birthday wishes for Sam!! She smiled when I told her last night.:) ... and to you who sent me you wishes via text.. Miss, Magic, Kook, Pas, Christine...

When she got to school yesterday her 2 good friends had decorated her locker... they were waiting for her and called out "happy birthday" kind of loud :)

It was really nice to hear Sam talk about her day... as many of you know her BFF moved to Wisconsin last year, so this year has been all about branching out and trying some new things. I'm happy she has done so and has kept in contact with her buddy in Wisconsin. We are going out for a visit in July!!

Taking work in stride...I'm grateful for so many things in life, my family, and wonderful friends (hey that includes you guys!) .... tuesday night I decided that I can't control what the Company does only my response as we move forward... I will do my best and be respectful, while maintaining my principles.

It's thursday!! Yay!! Almost TGIF... and that happy hour...Woohoo!!

More money for Disney!!!!!!!!!
Every penny from now until July is vacay $$$$ Except DS4 broke his unbreakable frames :headache: Stay safe Heather!

I'll get on the laptop soon and catch up. Morning here has been scary, torrential rains and tornado warnings all morning. Was not happy school was not delayed....I guess because its the last day. TS Andrea has made her presence in southeast FL :(

Be safe Melissa...WHY would they make the kids go???Is it early dismissal for the last day???:dance3:

I have a paper due next week...I just can't wrap my head around it. My advisor takes care of EVERYTHING I am spoiled, my friend going to the same school...not as spoiled :rolleyes1

When she got to school yesterday her 2 good friends had decorated her locker... they were waiting for her and called out "happy birthday" kind of loud :)
Very cool!!! :woohoo:

I was bummed at work last night, the Peds ER medical director is leaving..too many ch-ch-changes...this is no good :sad2: BUT if I ever need a job closer to home...I'll be looking him up :goodvibes Work is work, I try to go in and do my thing...one of the security guards walks by constantly "Mouse Money" is all he has to say and I am happy ;)

Okay pulled the laptop out and going to try to catch up. I am so tired, stayed up late to watch the double overtime Bruins game then TS Andrea had me up by 5am :sad2:

Wookie - sorry your school schedule is not as you thought, but I think not missing Joey's games are definitely a great trade off :thumbsup2 Oh and congrats on your midterm!!!

Jeanette - love the new RC, sorry your laptop needs to come with you though

SueM - glad to hear surgery went well and you are home. wishing you a speedy recovery!

Shelia - Big  for you and dealing with Bob. I hope he comes to his senses soon. Good luck at the dr's today.

Koh - :woohoo: on BOG!! Of course you need to move your trip back a day! Maybe you should move Sea World to after WDW :confused3 Miss did make it in and got to DHS last night without the rain! This morning she said that the beds at CBR were small :lmao: but comfy.

MAGIC - too funny, I didnt even think of going to SunBiz and look up Boca del Vista :lmao: I guess someone knew it would be worth something one day :p Hang in there and  again!

Dani - glad you made it home safe and sound! Back to reality stinks :headache: Cant wait to hear about your trip!

Heather - thats right, I knew you were a teacher, I just read stats and thought business.

Steven just came downstairs, so I will end here for now. Hello Janet, Linda, Ginny, Lacey, and everyone else :wave2:

:grouphug:
Melissa

Not awake enough here on the west coast to make intelligent comments! :surfweb:

Everyone on the east coast stay dry and safe! :grouphug: Another warm day here but good news ..... they changed the forecast for Saturday from 107 to 106! :sad2: Really???? Seriously???? Why bother??? :confused3

BBL have to get ready now for my Dr Appt :)

Sheila, hope your appt goes well.... Bob better get this act together...my FIL was such a pain in the butt about his diabetes...refusing to believe he had the disease... geesh... I wanted to shout "your son has much more medical problems than you... take the damn pill" ... but I didn't...

Surgery update. I'm home! I think it went well. Have to stay off the knee for 2-3 days then slowly start walking.
Thanks everyone for the good wishes.

Sue, thankful that your surgery went well!! Now onto healing, and getting better in time for your Beach/Disney trip!!

Good Morning All!!! :coffee:

:wave2: to everyone else - those that are still in bed like normal people ;)
Heather

Hi Heather!! Love that we are treated to the return of the "picture of the day" from Heather!! :cool1:

Sue - glad the surgery went well! :-)

Has anyone heard from Miss? How's she faring down there in the wet weather at CBR?

Yes! Last night on the way to CBR...Miss M seemed a little excited ... and Miss was deliberately ignoring the Flood warnings...:goodvibes

Good morning all!

As for me...I see 3 options I think...

1) move to a moderate (CBR) and add another day at WDW and move Sea World back a day (slightly more than what we're paying right now - $100?)

2) move everything back a day (same length of time as now) - stay at AKL or move to CBR and save $300

3) keep everything the same and give up the BOG ADR :-(

Guess I will have to broach the subject with DH after all...

It's tough decision... I do always like more time in WDW...and still stand by my comment on considering CBR for a pirate room...decisions, decisions!! :goodvibes

Heather: I am up too! :coffee:And I love that picture! Would you all recommend POR? We are booked at the BC for November but I must admit POR is still a possibility. :upsidedow That is a beautiful shot though.

Jen, Linda and I really like our POR stay in January... it's such a beautiful resort. The pool area and food court are great and Piano Bob is so much fun for the whole family.

Omg are we in the 200s..whoa, summer thread soon...

Okay. ? Hrh hates fwc, fw she liked...so a change or 2 or 3...

3 nights Melbourne beach, then 3 night Polynesian cl, followed by 5 portofino bay cl nights:faint:

:woohoo: Pas, congrats on adding at night at Portofino...like your new plans... getting R&R time at the Poly, snack room the whole time ::yes:: ... a win-win for all!

Sorry guys I am kind of scattered and not much for details. DH is very sick on verge of pneumonia doc says. And my DM is in hospital. Trying to keep it all together here... :crazy2:

Magic. will keep both in my prayers...hoping DH feels better by Friday's appt. and Mom keeps improving

OH NO POOR MISS....landing in FL just in time for Tropical Storm Andrea :( she is going to be rained out the next few days.

Melissa, I'm hoping it will be in and out fast!!

Hello everyone! We are home safe and sound. I've started to unpack and sift through our newest acquisitions. Danimal is off from school tomorrow but it's back to the old grindstone for me. I bought myself some spiffy new Disney post-it pads and pens so maybe it will ease the sting of snapping back to the real world so quickly! Hopefully? :goodvibes

:wave2: Dani!! Thankful that you got out before the TS. We will all look forward to hearing about the trip in your TR!popcorn::

A pencil through my eye would be less painful than Educational Statistics!! Oh well...it is what it is. I'm actually an 8th grade teacher working on my masters in Leadership/Administration. I'm almost done - 2 more classes - so it's allgood.

Heather, that's amazing....it will be fantastic once you have completed your masters!

Well good news....I passed my midterm!!  It was just a 75, but considering some of the other people were talking about using golf rules (meaning the lowest score, gets the highest grade) I am very happy with my little 75, and that was even with running out of time. If I had had a little more time, I would have done better.

Now I have to brag on JM......

Wookie, congrats on passing your mid-term! :dance3:

And Kudos to JM on restraining himself from retaliating and keeping his composture. :thumbsup2

We are under a tornado watch until 10pm :( carline this afternoon should be fun...NOT!!

Stay safe today!!!!

Melissa, oh no!! Hoping it isn't so! Stay safe

Linda, that's extremely important info... hey maybe they have to justify their jobs!

Hi Koh,
You have a couple of options. I've used this in the past to get a ballpark of taxifare. http://www.taxifarefinder.com/main.php?city=Orlando

The last time I was in Orlando and had multiple stops I used Tiffany Towncar. I needed transport from MCO to my downtown hotel, then to WDW for a few days, finally to MCO.

I think they calculated this way: 1 roundtrip MCO was about $115.00. (I usually tip 10.00 cash each way.) and then about 40.00? for the intermediate transport. ( from Downtown Orlando to WDW). The roundtrip was on CC, the intermediate was cash. You can book it all ahead of time. If you're thinking about doing this, call and ask them to be sure. (And price can vary if you need a bigger vehicle.) http://www.tiffanytowncar.com/

Hope this helps!!

Awesome! We'd need the van since we need a car seat and a booster for the kids and I refuse to bring ours on the plane anymore! :-) $125 it sounds like.

Take good care of yourself - and definitely have ICE CREAM!

Janet Sam has grown into such a beautiful young lady! :)

Happy Birthday Sam!

Bob still has not gone back to get his blood tests done :sad2: Yesterday he said he was going to stop taking all his meds cause he felt so lousy :headache:

I give up no point in wasteing my breath talking to him
Hugs my friend! :goodvibes

Melissa - is the weather getting bad? Be careful!

Good afternoon, sitting in carline and it is DRY OUTSIDE!!!! (Ha ha, as soon as I typed that it started to rain). We did have a few hours without rain, but still very windy and the sky definitely has that TS/hurricane look to it.

Can't believe the kiddos are officially done with school and next year I will have 3rd and 5th grader..EEK! Oh and a junior in college....FAINT!!! I swear I am not old enough ;)

Looking forward to relaxing this summer!!! If it wasn't so darn hot I would be making some trips to WDW for some Dis meets, but this native New Englander hibernates in the A/C all summer long :)

Hope everyone is having a good afternoon (well morning in some places still)

Hey Canada RCers: While pricing a non-WDW trip, I saw AMAZING fares flying Air Canada to Tampa for August (and other summer dates)... as cheap as $149!!!!! May be cheaper to do this and rent a car for a day (over to WDW and then again for a day back to the airport) than to pay the Orlando fare of nearly $700!!!!!!!!! PS -- Rate sale ends tonight. I know y'all are spread out but maybe this will help. :flower3:

It's thursday!! Yay!! Almost TGIF... and that happy hour...Woohoo!!

I love this attitude!! There are so many things in life to stress about, why stress about the things you have no control over.

I have a paper due next week...I just can't wrap my head around it. My advisor takes care of EVERYTHING I am spoiled, my friend going to the same school...not as spoiled :rolleyes1

I am so bad when it comes to writing papers. I always plan on getting them done early, and then I wait until the last minute to do them. I guess it works for me though since I usually always get A's on them.

I'm sorry there are so many changes at work. I love how the security guards know the two words that will bring a smile to your face. That is just pure awesom-ness.

Wookie - sorry your school schedule is not as you thought, but I think not missing Joey's games are definitely a great trade off :thumbsup2 Oh and congrats on your midterm!!!
:grouphug:
Melissa

As Paula Abdul would say, "It is what it is". Your right, not missing any of Joey's games (if the boy can keep from getting concussions this year) is a great trade off. and thank you, it really was a bear of a test.

Sheila, hope your appt goes well.... Bob better get this act together...my FIL was such a pain in the butt about his diabetes...refusing to believe he had the disease... geesh... I wanted to shout "your son has much more medical problems than you... take the damn pill" ... but I didn't...

What is it with these men? My DH refused to believe that he needed glasses....even after picking up his glasses the doctor prescribed for him. He has major swelling issues, I mean worse than mine. My mil thinks he might have cellulitis (she has it as well). He won't even go see a doctor. I think he's afraid he'll tell him that he's diabetic and he'll have to give himself shots.

Wookie, congrats on passing your mid-term! :dance3:

Thank you

And Kudos to JM on restraining himself from retaliating and keeping his composture. :thumbsup2

Thank you. We were all super proud of him. You should have seen the pride in his face and he explained how after the kid got up and punched him, he just stood up and told the teacher (who had no clue it even happened at all).

WOOHOOOO! Add a day! Stay at AKL. Don't tell your hubby that I said so :lmao:

Tell him that mischievous little Tinkerbell made you do it. :lmao:

Way to go on passing the midterm!!!!

Thank you

Good afternoon, sitting in carline and it is DRY OUTSIDE!!!! (Ha ha, as soon as I typed that it started to rain). We did have a few hours without rain, but still very windy and the sky definitely has that TS/hurricane look to it.

Stay safe and as dry as you can. We've had some much needed rain since last night. Luckily, no nastiness (tornadoes, hail, high winds) and just rain.

Can't believe the kiddos are officially done with school and next year I will have 3rd and 5th grader..EEK! Oh and a junior in college....FAINT!!! I swear I am not old enough ;)
Mine will be done with school tomorrow and I can't wait to not have to get up at 7 AM anymore. Of course, once football starts getting up at 7 AM will be sleeping late for me. This nest year we will have one in 10th and 8th grades. Joey thought it was so funny the other day that it was practically bringing me to tears to hear about them cleaning out their Freshman football locker room and moving all their gear to the JV locker room.

Looking forward to relaxing this summer!!! If it wasn't so darn hot I would be making some trips to WDW for some Dis meets, but this native New Englander hibernates in the A/C all summer long :)

I feel the same way about Summer. I love the kids not having in school and getting to sleep late, but I hate the heat.

I know y'all are spread out but maybe this will help. :flower3:

That is just crazy how much more expensive it is to fly straight into Orlando. Maybe with the price difference of flying into Tampa, you can rent a convertible?

Lacey I'm an office supply junkie!!! I got a whole bag full of pens too. :rotfl:

I hopefully will get to start a tr tonight, but it is quite possible that I won't. Still plugging away at my desk.

Looks like I have a lot of reading to catch up on. Dr Appt went good but lab called and They did not have enough blood to run my PTH test which is one that the Dr I was seeing today keeps tabs on. So after my Appt went over to get poked again. :rotfl:

Stopped at CVS to pick up my prescriptions, Bob needed to get a battery for his car remote, He was having trouble finding it until I pointed it out to him what he did next was right out of a Seinfeld episode........he put the battery in his pants pocket :scared1:

I said what are you doing? He looked at me dumb until I said you put the battery in your pocket! He quickly took it out, he did not even realize what he did. :faint:

He stopped at the bank ATM and put a check into his savings instead of his checking. He is driving me crazy :rotfl:

Going back to read now :)

Hello ladies, a quick note while I sit here listening to Snore Monster and Miss M cuddles next to me with her book. The reveal was... "Not textbook" to say the least. LOL. I think I could sell the video to Universal if they ever decided to do their own version of the ME. (You know the videos they show of the parents revealing their Disney plans to overjoyed kids? Miss M is sooooo not one of those kids. Bahaha.) "...but can't we just go to Disney tomorrow?" Oh man.

We went over to DHS last night, rode Star Tours and came back. Did MK today in the pouring rain, lightened up a bit as we headed over to GF Cafe for lunch and then DTD for a required pair of shoes for me since I didn't pack for monsoon season. ;-) Was a bad mommy and lost the stein and goblet we got from Gaston's Tavern. Bleh. Oh well, these things happen. Will try to check in later on. :-)

Miss So sorry about the terrible weather, I personally hate rain and wearing those ponchos makes you so hot and sweaty, Yuk. I never tried to surprise mine but I doubt I would have gotton those "over the top" reactions either.

What a shame about the stein and goblet maybe someone will turn them into Lost & Found.

Thanks for letting us now how your trip is going! Have lots of fun!

:scratchinI'm going to attempt to post via my husband's Surface tablet since DS is on the laptop...kind of a pain though. It's a bit tough to cut and paste so no multi-quoting for me

Tropical storm Andrea is rolling through! Rain, rain, and more rain. Luckily the winds are mild. WDW was/is getting plenty of it, too. Hopefully will be gone by tomorrow.

If I can get my laptop back, perhaps I can actually make some replies:upsidedow

Heather
