So you will be going to the MK from Downtown Disney? When we were there we ended up just taking the bus to the Contemporary. If there was a direct bus to the MK we didn't see it. So maybe that would be your best bet?

Right - there are no direct buses from DTD to the parks (they don't want park only guests parking at DTD) so I'm trying to decide which monorail resort bus to take. I suppose we could take whichever one comes first.

I would take a look at the MK resort routes. For example if you stay at WL and are going to DTD you go to FW first, then TL, then DTD so it's a lot of bus changes so you might want to look into what bus might be a direct route to DTD!!

I know we could go to the Contemporary and then walk, but I want to conserve our energy - but I don't want to take forever to get there either. Any advice is appreciated


For the party, my main goal is parade, fireworks, a little trick or treating, dance parties and a picture of Maddie with Snow White and the 7 dwarves, since she will be dressed as Snow White.

I would take the bus to the Contemporary; sounds like the best plan.

I am definitely with you on the party planning... atmosphere first, rides second. A pic with the magnificent seven is also a priority since they are so rare.

(I wonder how the "real" Snow White will react when Maddie wants a picture with her boys....

I put a thread up on transportation and found out the monorail resorts share a bus from DTD and Comtemporary is the first stop, so we'll get off there and walk.

So I finally started working on the pink Cinderella dress and it got a bit stressful I'm not a crafty gal, so this is a big challenge for me. I am trying to add a white layer to the bottom of the dress and I did eventually get it pinned on and it hangs ok, so now I have to get it attached. I'll do that another day

Do you have JoAnn Fabric Stores near you? If so, some of them have drop-in sewing classes (not always advertised) that you can bring a project and they'll help you if you are stuck.

GF is the last resort on the resort monorail, but if they share and got to Contempary first, I'd go with that.

I'm going to work on the dress some more tomorrow - depending on how it goes, I may be looking into this!

Hmmmm....... that has the shortest route taking a bus to Port Orleans Riverside (I think, I'll look again) and then getting a bus to Magic Kingdom. I'll have to see where the bus stops are and what bus comes when. I can see that if you get a bus right away at Port Orleans, but if you just miss one, it could be awhile.

I haven't tried attaching the white layer permanently yet - so we'll see if I can do it - I'm not sure! The things Disney inspires me to try
