Our FP+ testing experience 7/19

Our next Disney trip will likely be 2016 or 2017. To the OP and all others who participate in the testing and rollout (with all the inevitable bumps), you have my respect, gratitude and sympathy. Thank you.

We are going in October. Is this still going to be in the testing phase then? I went online today and looking at my reservation and noticed the Fast Pass selection. I tried to get it to work, but when it asks me to link my tickets I get stumped. Our tickets are part of our package and I don't have ticket numbers to put in to make it work.

I really hope this isn't up and running by our trip. I don't want to mess with it.

Bumping this because MDE is showing me the same thing (for an early September trip) - I know someone out there must have the answer!
 
I this part of the report is kind of unfair because what the OP failed to say was that they or a friend are CMs and they got FREE tickets and a FREE resort stay and the purpose of having a scenario is because this is the first time many CMs are getting to use the systems out of training so the company is asking the CMs to go have them do stuff so they can have practice before actual Guest start asking them. Because if they do mess up, they are messing up in CMs that don't have the RIGHT to get mad because this a privilege that you volunteered for knowing you are doing this to help further train other CMs.

How do you know the OPs trip was free? In all the posts of the testers reporting back to us no one has said that their room or tickets were free.
 
SO GLAD we weren't asked to be a test subject for our August trip! I know there are A LOT of bugs to be worked out, but the entire concept of fp+ still horrifies me!

Only people that are testing now are CMs and she said that she had a scenario to ask concierge to change her FP schedule. Once again something that is not being done with Guest.

They are seriously awful and hot and sweaty is an understatement. Kids would only put them on to use at the touch points and YDD (special needs) refused to wear it at all. She didn't care about using it at the touch points.

This my worry with 2 special needs kids they will just not want to wear them :(
 

True. She did in another thread. I just feel like in this thread it was presented as if they were a paying customer to which she would have the right to get upset. Not when you're specifically given scenarios so other CMs can get practice. I bet that lobby concierge never makes that mistake again thanks to having that scenario before this goes live.

LOL! Who knows WHAT the heck will be going on by then, eh? I'm just glad it wasn't "ready" for our recent trip. I was sorry (in a selfish kind of way) to see that you would not be eligible to participate in testing on your upcoming trip. That thread would have been riveting!
 
I am wondering how hard it is going to be for them to take charging privileges off the band. I ordered my band and it did not let me pick if I wanted charging privileges or not. Automatically adds charging to cards. Said to make changes I have to do that at the resort. Also for some reason it said I had a pin picked for me even tho I haven't given one.

Have you traveled to WDW since RFID intro? I had picked pins during online check in for our last May Trip and when I did online check in for our Sept. trip it said we already had pins assigned, yes ones I picked when I was put on spot during May online check in!! I really need to change DH's Coworkers and when my BFF travels with us she doesn't have a pin yet.

Any of us (especially those without a smartphone) could ask a concierge CM to make a change for us, and this could happen to us.

And it seems OK to me for anyone who lost everything they had spent a lot of time preparing to be annoyed, no? :goodvibes

delmar: you said you were able to use the MB at quick service dining locations, how did it work exactly? Is there a handheld scanner?

There is a swipe thing (like at the grocery store) that has the touch to pay Mickey head on it as well. That's what we used then we put in our pin and were good to go.

I wonder how it will work at TS locations, I've heard the servers will have handheld scanners but so far that is just a rumor.

I can help with this. During my May 2013 Trip there was the "famous" mickey head things I put my KTTW card up to it, typed my pin number in and life went on as I know it at CS.
 
Interestingly I was jut able to book FP+ selections for tomorrow, I cancelled those and moved them to Sunday. We only have a 1 day PH attached to our profiles. Those don't expire until the end of the month so I'm curious if they will disappear tomorrow or what or if they still show up how will they be redeemable since the ticket is actually used up. We will enter with our APs and bring the bands and see what happens.
