Our First Trip Home

So excited to get the mail today and find our new DVC membership cards have arrived! We were fortunate to book a week at our new home resort for the craziness that is New Years, and that is only four short months from today! Our guide seemed relieved to find out that we are pretty familiar with WDW, and realize we aren't going to be able to do every attraction as he apparently has had some first timers not know what they are getting themselves into!

It is very weird to book a WDW vacation on such short notice. We've been pretty fortunate with booking dining. Not something I necessarily want to do on every trip going forward, but this time, we want to celebrate the holidays, and we will be there for my dd's 17th birthday. I think I'd rather get my feet wet with DVC and then add some cooking (besides breakfasts) once we really see what it's like.

Our closing should be next week, so hopefully we will get our access code for the website soon. MS has been very nice, but I'm much more comfortable doing things online!

I'm reading lots of helpful information in the DVC sections here and look forward to being able to contribute going forward.

Congrats! It's always nice when Member Services seems to be able to come up with whatever first reservation you want through some kind of magic. Have fun on your New Years trip.

For our first DVC trip we bought way too much food and ended up finding it worked out better for us to eat breakfast and lunch in the room, but eat dinner in the parks. I think it's a good call to wait and see what works for your family.

We are going for New Year's too! What day do you arrive? This will also be our first trip "home"!! SOOOO excited, It's a surprise for our kiddos!!
