What are your favorite things to do when you're at WDW over Thanksgiving? Any ADRs to be on the lookout for, in particular?

We are also considering ordering a heat/eat dinner to have in our villa. We will be in a 2BR. Any recommendations/ideas if we decide to eat in? I don't want to spend the whole day cooking (and with DVC cooking implements, no less!) but might be nice to do it at "home" and top it off with some fireworks.

I imagine that Publix sells a take out and heat Thanksgiving dinner that you pick up the day before.

One Thanksgiving we rented cabin in the Smokies. Had about 11 in attendance for the meal. We augmented their offerings,& felt it was delicious and pretty easy.

It was a Kroger’s we used in TN.

My favorite think is just being there. I do enjoy eating at the kiosks in World Showcase at Epcot. Lots of different things to try.

We went on Thanksgiving week last year and stayed at our home Boardwalk. We ate Thanksgiving dinner at Hollywood Brown Derby - I told myself a turkey cobb salad counts as a turkey meal!

If you want to go out, Citricos had a fabulous TG dinner last year. I got reservations for our party of 12. Those who wanted TG dinner had the complete dinner and it was really really good! Everyone else could get what they wanted. The restaurant was wonderful..we had all ages, including a one year old. I would highly recommend it.

We also had TG dinner once at the HS Brown Derby. It was also very good, but not as wonderful as last years dinner.

We arrive on Thanksgiving this past year and had dinner at HDDR - it was absolutely fantastic!!!

One of our trips each year is Thanksgiving week at VWL (BRV). We always have Thanksgiving dinner at Whispering Canyon. Great atmosphere and ample food to feed our "Herd" of 11. :)

Will you have a car? I had a great thanksgiving meal one year from Whole Food. I didn’t buy a set dinner package. I just bought what I wanted ala carte. Sliced roast turkey, dressing and sides and dessert of my choice.

We are not planning on having a car, hence my request for ideas.

I have no help as when we did Thanksgiving in 2015 we ate at Fulton's which is no more, but the majority of places on property offer a special Thanksgiving menu if you want traditional fare. Also, I really just wanted to say we will be there for Thanksgiving too!

We went to AK and had a great thanksgiving meal at Sanaa in 2014! They had a Thanksgiving meal on their menu in addition to their regular entrees. As I recall the holiday menus are posted online. Enjoy!

We added on a contract just for Thanksgiving. Love that time of year - holiday decorations are going up and the weather is great.
Last year we ate at Tiffins and it was wonderful, year before it was pizza at Via Napoli - just for fun. I will say that discounts are not available on Thanksgiving Day if that makes a difference. We will have TIW this year and will have our special meals the day before AND the day after, and stick to Epcot grazing on the big day. French pastries and champagne? Yup! I'm grateful!!

So no TiW discount on Thanksgiving, either? hmmm

Where are you staying?!

We are staying in a 2 BR preferred at SSR. Almost changed to AKL at 7 Months but decided to stay with the home resort. We will be there 17-24 November

Is it your first stay on points? Woohoo!

We are in a 2br std at BLT, from the 20th to the 25th. We are actually flying in late the night of the 19th and staying at the Hyatt, then taking DME the morning of the 20th. I'm leaning toward doing a heat and eat the day of, but my MIL is coming with us (she recently lost her husband of 57 years) and it's her first time at WDW - EVER. I am thinking of making a placeholder ADR and then deciding when we get closer to the date.

We are also celebrating our little one's 3rd birthday, so it might be a good time to go to CRT.

Not the first stay on points as we squeezed in a last minute trip to use expiring points at the end of March. This will be our first time staying at SSR though. Thought we should try out the home resort. I’ll be leaving for Iraq shortly after the holidays so we “needed” to use some points before I left as the contract we got had 2017 points banked. So with our trip in May we are going 3 times this year which seems perfectly reasonable.

When we went for Thanksgiving in 2015 we had a great time. All the Christmas decorations were out, and I didn’t find it insanely crowded as I expected it to be. But I would definitely avoid MK on Thanksgiving. We did AK on Thanksgiving and the crowd level was great, but that was before Pandora opened so it may be different now. But with TiW being blacked out on the actual day of Thanksgiving we may end up doing a traditional meal in the villa.

Hopefully you are arriving before your little one turns three so that she remains free for one last trip :)

We were flew down Thanksgiving Morning [cheap flight] a couple of years ago, and actually found that Golden Coral and it was one of the best T-Day dinners we have ever had. The staff was amazing....by the time we were done eating, our room was ready

Just a thought....

She turns 3 the day after we get home! (so, another "excuse" for a trip). When we were there over presidents' week, touring plans had the crowds at around 8-10 most days. And the day TP said MK was a 7, Space Mtn, Splash and 7DMT AND PotC were all down in the morning, which made it feel insanely crowded. TS Land should be open, so I am wondering (hoping?) that that will draw some of the crowds away from MK. And then wondering if we should even bother (we are staying at BLT the whole time), or wait to go some other, less busy, time. Only added complication is that DD1 says she wants to RnR coaster this time....
