On our most recent trip (earlier this month), we decided to try Planet Hollywood since we were spending our last afternoon at DTD. We got there at about 11:30 am, and were seated right away. When seated, the waitress asked if we were on the DDP, and when we said yes, we were, she said she needed to see our room key to verify. I thought that was odd, because we were never asked for it before it was time to pay elsewhere. No biggie, I figured it was maybe because it's Plant Hollywood and not a Disney restaurant (hmmm...maybe it is a Disney restaurant, lol, I don't know :p ). She walked off with my room key, and about 5 or so minutes later came back and said that she was able to verify that we had remaining table service credits to cover the meals, and could now order.

I found that Planet Hollywood was a bit less "friendly" than other places we have eaten at Disney -- but then again, maybe the waitress was just having an off day.

I was a little surprised by some of the things that were not allowed on the DDP regarding soda and milk -- I asked if I could have a ginger ale, but was told that though they have ginger ale, it was not allowed on the dining plan. My ds asked if he could get a chocolate milk, but we learned that it too was excluded from the DDP. I could be wrong, but I thought refills on the sodas we did get were included, but the waitress did not bring any when we asked :confused3 Again, maybe Planet Hollywood does things differently than other places we ate at Disney, or the waitress was having an off day.

The appetizers were really good -- ds ordered the wings, I had the buffalo wings and strips, and dh had the wings as well. Entrees were very good as well ( I loved the mashed potatoes). Dessert -- we asked for the chocolate cake to go. When she brought them to the table, they were all in one plastic container, which was in a pretty "used" looking plastic grocery bag.

The food was good, but the service was a little off. The limitations on things like chocolate milk and refills (again, maybe it was just our waitress not bringing the refills as opposed to them not being allowed, I am not sure on that) was surprising to me.

Overall, I think it was worth trying, but we won't be in a hurry to return there when on future trips.

thanks for the descriptive review - we ate at planet hollywood once, wasn't impressed (with service or the food) - won't go back ourselves, either

What odd restrictions?! Thanks for the review, sorry you had an indifferent server.
