Just thought I'd post on our DME experience this afternoon. We didn't use the luggage service because we just had carryons because it is just DH and I on this trip. We got to the DME check in counter and waited about 3 mins to get checked in. This was at about 2:30. Then we waited in line to board for about 7 mins. The line was for the WL and CR(we are staying at the CR). When we were ready to leave the bus driver announced we were going to the POLY, GF, WL, and CR. In that order. The driver was good but not very talkative. We were in a Disney Cruiseline bus and the tv's were never put on. It took an hour and thirty mins. to get to our resort. The driver helped with our bags and we tipped him a few bucks. I was annoyed to have to go to all the resorts but that could've been just because I was hungry!LOL

If they put you on the bus with POLY, GF and WL, it wasn't very good planning. It must have been a slow day and they wanted to get you out of the airport. I understand why the driver put you last. Actually CR is off the route.

That's interesting... we had the same 4 resorts together in late August and WL was the first stop. Wonder if it just depends on the driver? Our return to MCO was CR, WL, Poly, and GF and took just over an hour.

A driver on another board has reported that she gets her assigned resorts at the airport, but then even as she begins driving out of the airport she might not yet have decided in what order she'll do the drop-offs.

It probably is the driver. The three MKC resorts are close to Magic Kingdom and CR is back by the Swan and Port Orleans.

The CR that I'm referring to (and I believe Desnik is staying at) is the Contemporary, grouping it with the other 3 is not surprising.

Actually, the Contemporary Resort (CR) is a Magic Kingdom resort that's reasonably close to WL, Poly, and GF.

Also, the Swan and Port Orleans are not near each other.

The Swan is an Epcot area resort near the Dolphin, BWI/BWV, YC, and BC. Of course, the Swan is not served by Magical Express.

Port Orleans (POR and POFQ) are a Downtown Disney resorts near OKW and SSR.

DME motorcoaches from the airport typically go to 3 or 4 resorts. Sure, it's better to be the first stop than the last stop. But they do try to keep the resorts near each other to minimize driving time between resorts.

You are right. I am sorry for the misinformation.

For the MK resorts, "Disney" mandates the drop off sequence.

It is Poly, GF, WL CR. If GF pax are NOT onboard, the driver is free to determine the drop sequence.

(not all drivers comply)

Hey Ed I though you were with a Transportation service to disney? thats a bit disconcerting LOL!

I do get mixed up on the abbreviations sometimes. I thought CR was the Caribbean Resort, on the boards (at least my brain did), not Contemporary.

That would be CBR you silly head!! Are you having senior moments too?

I did then. Probably thinking of the cruise and all the money I can spend.
