16. [drag] Universe of Energy: Ellen's Energy Adventure

I think you should fastpass more than just TT. The characters at the character spot usually have a really long line and are the fab 5 that you can see other places so maybe skip that. Ellen is really long so you might not have time for that either. I have it in my plan but we are only doing a couple other rides.

I figured Ellen and Spaceship Earth were 2 of the things that I could drop and come back to another time if I didn't get it all done.

I've never done an Epcot-FW character greeting; it's not worth it there?

We stopped by last time and the line was extremely long. It was Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto I think, Maybe Donald. We had already seen all these characters with much shorter lines so we skipped it. If you can get there right when it opens it would be good cause there is only the one line then you go from character to character, but if you see these characters with no line in other parks then skip it

Ok, I suckered myself into buying the program to try it out and I was stupid enough to buy it too early where I can't look at the December dates with it, but now I like it too much to ask for a refund, hence, I'm $18 out.

However, I used it in conjunction with touringplans.com to figure out the busiest days that also matched the days that I would be in a certain park. I entered the rides I wanted to go on, when I would eat and voila, PLAN MADE FOR ME.

I'm sure that I update it as the dates come out. One thing that upsets me about it is it doesn't include Fantasmic as a parade and only has EMH hours for MK, but I like the way that it figures out the times. I figure that I can get everything I want done during the week and on our last day, anything that was left out is what we'll do.

Soooooo...with that said....here's the plan for our first day at the parks, 12/12/2010.

It lists free time, I thought about Toontown with it, but didn't think the amounts were long enough. I think we will do Toontown on our last day (12/18) that way we can linger a bit.

Please let me know what you think. Day I, Part II coming up soon...

Can you tell I've run out of things to plan that I'm trying to plan attractions down to the minute....:rolleyes1 pathetic, yes I know...

Okay, here's Day I, Part/Park II and Day II, Park/Part I

Oh man you suck, now I want that!!!!

LMAO!!!:lmao: I kept going back and forth, should I get it, no I don't need it, but I want it, it will make planning easier... Okay, I'll get it.

DH I think has had enough. He says I'm obsessing at this point. I also have WDW Lines on my phone and Ridehopper but they were cheaper. I found out soon after I bought them that all you have to do is go to mobile wdw and they give you line times :headache:

I think it might have underestimated the TSM wait time, 49 mins doesn't seem long enough

What does the yellow shaded stuff mean?

Ok, let me start off by saying this is my fault and I accept the blame....as long as it doesn't interfere with a trip to Disney.

Last year, DD and I were running late to her soccer game. We loaded the car and jumped in. DD had her seatbelt on, I was putting my on as I headed off the block. When I went to turn right, I turned the wheel 1/2 a turn too much and the passenger side of my minivan collided with the telephone pole on the corner (why are those things SO CLOSE?) Anyhoo, everyone was fine, everything worked, it was a dent and a scrape on the door. DH (of course) was thoroughly pissed about it (it was Father's Day) and since he didn't want the deductible going up, he left it (ugly but usable) alone.

Fast forward one year. The passenger door on the van is an automatic one so a year of going back and forth on a dented track has destroyed the motor in the door. I told DH the door is fine, to just let the kids out of one side (really, do you NEED to open both side doors?:guilty:), but out of habit I guess, he always presses the button for the right door. Saturday at DD's soccer game (travel soccer is really the root of all evil ), he opened the door and .....it fell off the track. Now we really need to get it fixed. Am I making this sound like his fault, remember that I'm the one who damaged it...

We took it to the Honda dealership and the original estimate was $500. One hour later, we're told that it's a special part, the motor is the piece that's broken, special order, blah, blah, blah...price goes up to $700. This morning, they call back and say it's $850. We go to pick the car up, it's $915....am I feeling bad I caused this whole mess? Yeah, pretty much. Am I pissed that DH just didn't take it last year and get it fixed through the insurance for the deductible amount of $500? Yeah, pretty much.

Soooo....now DH isn't talking much about Disney. He asked how much it would be to change to a Value and when I told him the difference, minus the change fee (why does Disney charge this now?), he didn't think it was worth it (whew).

Anyhow, I'll be kissing tons of butt within the next few weeks. The man has an overflowing drawer full of clean undies and socks and I'm hoping to do anything I can to keep him from canceling the trip. My one ray of hope is the $250 we spent on MVMCP tix. Those can't be refunded or transferred, so if he is thinking of canceling (I can't bring the subject up b/c I'm afraid to get him thinking about $), we can't get that money back.

It's not like we don't have the money, it's just that now we're moving stuff around and that's never good. We put the car damages on a credit card, and that's the card we usually use for Christmas presents. During the next few weeks, I will be working hard to replace what was used to fix the car.

Ugh. Cross your fingers for me.:upsidedow

ugh so sorry about your situation. I know how you feel, I moved us from the Poly to POR to save money since I haven't found a job but as long as I am at Disney I will be happy and there is always the Poly next trip.

When did Disney start charging a change fee, they didn't when I changed resorts?

Unless I read it wrong, it says in the terms and conditions that you will be charged a fee to make changes to your reservation. I thought it was funky also b/c during my last trip, I was constantly changing stuff.

I think (not sure though) it is after the trip is paid off if you get money back or if it is less than 45 days before your trip

Ok, last time I wrote, we were thinking about the trip and what we were going to do since we had an unexpected thing happen with the car and laid out $915 for it. Well, spoke to hubby and gave him some options (downgrading to value with DDP, downgrading with QSDP), but he's decided that we'll be ok, so the trip is staying as is!!!!

Ok, I'm happy again.

YAY!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I'm glad your trip is still on!!! I know what you mean, when Jack had to ahve surgery a month before we were leaving for our fall trip, I thought about canceling... but I knew I wouldn't get all my money back, and it was all paid off already, so there didn't seem to be much point. I think the change fee is only after 45 days prior to your arrival. I called 10 days out to see about changing to All Star Movies (instead of POP) because I thought Jack would LOVE seeing the giant Toy Story characters, but it was not worth the $50 to me.
