Our 3rd Trip to WDW, Sept' 09, *TOC on Pg 1* *TR STARTED - CLICK ON THE LINK*

Hello everyone... Thought I would check in with you all again... Just got home from my 2nd 16 hour day in a row... I gotta get to bed soon as I have to be back at work in about 7 hours... I will try to check in tomorrow before I go to bed for my flight to Vegas Monday morning :cool1:...

So sorry for the long days Terry :( but......... you're going to Vegas soon!!!!!

At the 1 week mark (Sept.7th)
Order water from Costco
Do online check-in for resort
Get all electronics charged
make sure all memory cards are empty

hmmmm you can order the water to be delivered from Costco? Is there a minimum order?

hmmmm you can order the water to be delivered from Costco? Is there a minimum order?

Yes, you can order water from Costco, and if you are a member, there is no shipping or anything... There is no minimum either... We can't decide between 1 case or 2.... :confused3

Well, today I am pouting... :sad1:

I do not like it when Terry is gone... :sad2: For the first 8 years of our relationship, we had never been apart longer than 1 night, and that only happened twice...

I know he is going to have a great time though, and I think it is very important that he spends time with his aunt, she is the only family he has on his Dad's side... I talked to her this morning and she is so excited... :cool1::yay::woohoo::banana:

So, all of you with PTR and TR's going on, get busy writing, cause you have to keep me entertained!

I bought a thermal laminater!! :cool1:

Now I can get the rest of my laminating done, and have the machine for other stuff too...

Now, if I can just figure out how to work it...

I was thinking about doing a PTR, but I didn't think anyone would be interested! :rotfl: I *love* reading others' PTR and TR though. It really helps for us new to WDW to read about people who have done it before. I went to DL tons when I lived in San Diego, but that was when I was 17 and we just went to the park and stood in line like everyone else. :confused3

You should totally go a PTR!! Especially with 7 people! It's bound to be entertaining!! :lmao: I would read it!

I just started one, but it feels so anti-climactic, KWIM? I am just agonizing about MNSSHP costumes! LOL! I love your Incredibles t-shirt idea. Nice and cool.

I totally just stumbled upon your PTR and posted there...

I like your Alice and Wonderland theme, that will be fun! i told Terry and the kids to choose between Incredibles or Mouseketeers... It's all about the tshirts baby.. :rotfl:

Tailor got a heat rash last year and I get heat stroke easily so I knew we could not do anything too "heavy"...

I am looking forward to reading about you trip and plans... Terry is gone for the next few days and I need something to keep me sane...

I am sorry your DH is away. my DH works a weird schedule and is gone often. 12 hour shifts and such. I always get worried and nervous at night. :confused3 I don't know why? Have you gotten your disney mail with your info and ME stuff yet?

Yes, you can order water from Costco, and if you are a member, there is no shipping or anything... There is no minimum either... We can't decide between 1 case or 2.... :confused3

If you drink alot of water i would say 2 cases. you figure 4 people can use 2 a day thats 8 bottles x 14 days= 72 PERFECT ;) I want to order but I dont know how to do it, when i look on their website it says for business customers. Have you used it in WDW before? and they let you only order 1 case no other product? Sorry for the 20 questions  but Costco would sure beat gardengrocer for the water plus the $12 fee since we won't have a car.

Sorry your lonely without the hubby, (I would be like this if my hubby was away for a couple of days :dancer: i know i know bad huh?) I was thinking of starting a Semi PTR (since its sooo close to trip time) but like someone else said Im afraid I would be boring...:bored:

Have fun with your laminator...you know if you get really bored you can make me some stuff :lmao:

I am sitting at the airport waiting to board my flight to Vegas!!:banana::banana: I cannot believe how many people show up right as their plane is boarding, or shortly after... I have been here 15 minutes and have seen at least 2 people miss their flight... I still have 40 minutes before mine leaves... I will try to upload a few pics as I take them over the next few days and keep you all updated... :thumbsup2

Wow I go away for a weekend and I'm behind by like 6 pages of fun! Lets see if i got everything... :)

Will you be my cabana boy????

Jordan I think this could totally be your 2nd job... cabana boy for all of the DISers. I know I would definitely pay!

I reserved a cabana!!! Cost me 159.75, and you have to pay for it when you reserve it...

I asked if I get to choose my Cabana boy, she chuckled a little and said they are not calling them cabanas boys, they are attendants... yeah, whatever... She asked what if I get a Cabana Girl??? I said, well, then I think my husband will be reserving a cabana for our entire trip... :rotfl:

46 days until we leave!! :cool1:

I am headed to the bank to pull out s wad of cash for my envelopes, then they will accompany the gift cards and MNSSHP tickets in the safe... I am excited to fill my envelopes...

Anybody think it is too early to preorder the photopass cd??

Definitely a great idea renting the cabana. I would definitely do it if there were a few of us and if we were staying all day. Totally worth it IMO instead of fighting crabby people for chairs. And you know we need pics of the cabana boy, right?

And i don't think it's too early for the photopass cd! I'm waiting to get paid on Thursday and paying off the trip balance and then going to figure out what else I have to buy. Photopass CD is definitely on the list and I want to get it soon!

Okay, question for everyone...

How much money do you take on vacation for souvenirs? I have all the tips and stuff separate...

Last year we bought everyone we have ever known a gift... Boy did that get expensive...

This year the only people we are buying gifts for is the niece of the friend we have watching our house... That is his payment, he doesn't want us to pay him, he wants a few things for him to give his niece... And Terry's aunt... SHe is a school teacher and we are going to pick up a few things of pencil and pens, maybe some cute paper for her desk... Other than that the only thing I know I have to buy is a 2009 magnet for the fridge and a 2009 shot glass for my ever growing collection...

The kids have their own money too, so we don't need to buy them anything...

SO, how much do you take??

We only buy gifts lately for people that help us out during our vacation. Friends or fam that drive us to the airport, get our mail, etc. It's definitely WAY too expensive to buy everyone something! Plus we buy ourselves some stuff too. We don't usually buy a lot though. A photo album, a Christmas ornament, possibly a shirt or two. That's about it for us. As gifts for our friends, we bought both girls that drove us to and from the airport bath soaps and stuff from Basin at the Grand Floridian. They loved them! So as for how much? For our party of 2 people, I think we spent $200 or $250 total on souvenirs for the whole week.

Envelopes... We found them on the design boards... You just save them to your computer and print them on normal paper, then cut them out and fold, a little tape and done... Very easy and TONS of different designs...

Here is the link to the thread I got them from:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1755694

Tips... The standard for ME is the same as skycaps at the airport from what I understand.. 1 to 2 dollars per bag... Mousekeeping is a hot topic on the boards, some people tip and some do not... I do, and I do 5 dollars per day... I think the standard is 1 dollar per day per person... If I ask for anything above and beyond then I do more...

If you have any other questions, just ask...

Thanks for the link for the disigns and envelopes! I keep forgetting to go over there and print out mousekeeping stuff! We did it two years ago and they came out so cute! I'll head over there in a bit and find some awesome ones for POFQ. As for tipping we do the same tipping calculations too. I have to remember to have singles ready for our trip!

We're going to Disney World next month!!!!!

45 days until departure... :cool1::cool1::cool1:

WOOOHOOOOO!!!!! Not gonna lie I'm pretty excited too because that means that I GO TO DISNEY WORLD NEXT MONTH TOO! :lmao:

I am sitting at the airport waiting to board my flight to Vegas!!:banana::banana: I cannot believe how many people show up right as their plane is boarding, or shortly after... Enjoy Vegas!! :) I don't understand how people are late to flights either. It only happened once to me and it was because my dumb ride woke up late. I was a basketcase the whole way there and they definitely got an earful. I had to beg TSA to let me cut the security line and I was the last one on the plane. never again. Ugh!

We haven't decided what we will be yet. We have a 5:05 ressie at Diamond Horseshoe, but they now called us and want to change it to LTT. We will see where we end up!

We were thinking a Peter Pan theme, but not sure. There are 7 of us, so hard to have a theme! We will definitely look out for you guys. :)

Uh ... 7 Dwarfs? (well, Dwarves according to Tolkein - and he did write the Oxford English Dictionary ... :lmao: )

Terry works 12 hours shifts for his normal shift and he normally adds another 4 to that in overtime... He did graveyard for 6 months and I freaked out and said never again... I just hate it when he is not laying nest to me at night... And the fact that I can't call him and say I need to you and have him come home...

I have not gotten any Mickey Mail yet... :sad1: I am thinking the ME stuff will be here in the next week... I will probably start stalking my travel agent here soon...

I have not ordered it personally but I TON of people here on the DIS have... I wish they had the cases of juice boxes for the kids... I would order that too... I think I will order 2 cases, I just hate the thought of it being thrown out and wasted if we don't drink it all...

I am such a cry baby when he leaves... I don't mind him going, I just miss him so much... I promise I am not as "high school" as I sound... :lmao:

Hi Babe... Glad you arrived safely... Go buy a new tripod and have a great time!! :lovestruc

I am pretty excited about the cabana... Maybe everyone will think I am their water park queen and worship me... :worship::worship::worship: :snooty:

We will take lots of pictures of the cabana boy... or girl...

I was really going to order it, but then I saw a thread about people getting awful pictures... And others are saying that there si not nearly the amount of photographers there was last year... Now I am second guessing ordering it at all... :sad2:

Thanks for your thoughts on this... I really think I had WAY too much money budgeted for souvenirs... Even when we bought all that stuff last year, it wasn't like it was really even appreciated either... Terry's parents love their coffee mugs, we buy them new ones every trip and they use them every morning... But other than that, everyone said thatnks but noone really cared... :confused3

I think I remember seeing the POFQ ones, and they are cute... I think I went overboard with the envelopes... I started printing them months before we even were able to make ADR's and of course with all of our resort changes I have mousekeeping envelopes from each one...

I am always annoying early for flights... I keep having visions of Home Alone about this trip... I told Terry that the kids are sleeping on our floor the night before or out in the living room so we don't leave them behind... He's pretty sure I have got a screw loose... :lmao:

I've found that the photopass photogs are definitely hit or miss. The only cool thing is being able to add the borders and getting the special photos (holding Tinkerbell, Simba, etc). Night shots though they use tripods and I dont remember if your hubby is lugging one along with everything else that he's taking! Oregondaddy will hands down take better photos than 90% of them. The more I think about it now, since I wrote this morning, I'm debating not preordering either. All the photopass photogs will gladly take photos with your own camera too so you dont have to worry about not getting the photos with the whole fam. Hmmmm! :sad2:

I always get coffee mugs too for my dad and stepmom (and myself)...forgot about those! I always get so upset when people aren't appreciative with gifts! I'd rather spend the money on the kids and stuff instead. :thumbsup2

Ok time to go browse mousekeeping envelopes! :)

You and I are on the same page with Photopass... Terry is taking a tripod... Actually he forgot his here this mroning so I sent him to go buy a new one as we speak... He is getting a Manfrotto... That is what his monopod is and he loves it... We figured we would just have them take pictures with our camera... And when I go back to last years pictures, I am really not sure it was worth the 125 I spent on it back then... I could have picked out 2 or 3 pictures and downloaded those or order a print...

I'm going to be bringing mine too, especially since JetBlue doesn't charge for checked luggage and I might not be able to carry it on the plane. For some reason my brain didn't think correctly and I didn't buy a more compacted tripod. :confused3 I heard that you can keep it in lockers and if for some reason the tripod doesn't fit in a locker (which I'm thinking mine might be just a hair too bit)... they'll allow you to keep it behind the cash register. Then I'll just go grab it when the sun sets and for Wishes, etc. Jealous about the Manfrotto! I honestly have NO idea why I didn't think out my tripod purchase better!

I bought Terry a Lowepro backpack and we added 2 straps on the sides to hold the tripod and the monopod... So, he will be carrying them both the whole day... The new tripod he just bought comes with a sling bag so I may take it from him when he is not using it and lighten his load, although it only weighs 3.7 pounds... His old one that he left here is huge... I was not looking forward to taking that thing... He said the new one compacts down a lot better... He want to take both with us so he has one for his camera and one for the camcorder... Then why the heck did we buy a monopod?? :confused3 Tailor's stroller has a basket under it so he can put them in there when we are walking around, then when we park the stroller, he can put them on the backpack... That may save his back a little...
