We were going into this with CBR in mind, but after looking at the recommendations, we have done some research and looked at reviews/photos and now thinking we are going to try POFQ... The only downfall we can see is that the room photos make it look really dark, but I love the pool pics! The only room available right now is a Water View room, so I am okay with that ... We will see what my travel agent says in the morning... I will make a post when we have the change confirmed... Thanks for your help...

We weren't thrilled with POR. The buses seemed to take forever to get to the parks, and while the boat to Downtown Disney is nice, we don't actually GO to DTD on most trips so it was kind of wasted on us. If you do want to go with one of the Port Orleans resorts, I think POFQ is the better of the two. It is compact, so you don't have much walking once you get off the bus at the end of the day, and the buses pick up there first. At POR, we had a few rides that were standing room only before they even got to our resort. It is an absolutely beautiful resort and I loved the grounds and the theming and the pools, but I don't see us staying there again.

We're trying CSR this time, partly for the newly rehabbed rooms and partly because my kids think the Dig Site pool looks really cool. CSR had a few amenities that the other mods don't have, like queen sized beds and a fitness center (yeah, I'm actually crazy enough to hit the elliptical on our off days at Disney! ), and it doesn't share buses with any other resort. Some people seem put off by the fact that it is a convention resort, but that to me is just another perk - conventioneers aren't hitting the parks every day, which means less crowded buses for us.

Sorry to hear about the need to change from AKL.

As for mods...I personally don't like the POFQ theme, but have heard many good reports. I'm a CBR lover myself. I think it is a beautiful resort and have stayed there multiple times...satisfied every stay.

We have our reservations made now, and we downgraded from AKL... We were going to try for POFQ, but after reviewing more pictures and some videos, it really did not appeal to us... After a very long day back and forth with Disney, our travel agent, back to disney, back to the travel agent (what a headache ), we decided to go value... The website kept showing availability at a few places, but then on the phone, they didn't have any... Finally we saw that a value opened for the whole trip, so our travel agent snatched it up while she could...

We will be staying at All Star Sports in a preferred room...

We are very excited as this change saved us around $2300... That is almost the price of another trip next year ...

We thought about this change and realized that we have been to WDW twice, and stayed at values both times, and we were just fine... We tend to enjoy more time at the parks anyways, so the hotel is not that big of a deal...

Congrats on saving money!! We are the same way, we have no issues with the values at all. The amount of time we spend in the room is so small so it never bothers us. I hope you have a great time!!

We've stayed at the value's 3 out of 4 times and haven't minded the smaller rooms. We're usually only in them to sleep so it's not a problem. Plus with all that money you saved you can buy lots of stuff!

Downgrading is such an inappropriate word for this, isn't it? How about revised priority resort selection or something like that! You didn't downgrade, you upgraded, in the only sense of the word that matters

You're going to have such fun at ASSp! We really enjoyed our stay there last year - so much fun, so clean, really friendly CMs, decent food at the food courts, etc. We stayed preferred last time and the main hall/bus stop were super close. Enjoy!

Yes, we will be neighbours! We'll be there from Sept. 12-20 and you'll be at ASSp from Sept. 15-20? I see a pool bar meet-up in our future! The adults can chat and all the children can play together

I figured I would take a minute and share what we willb e bringing for in-flight entertainment... It is a long flight from Oregon, so we have to find some way to pass the time... My and DS each have PSP's with 31 games ... DD has a Nintendo DS with 17 games... The games in the cases are brand new and the kids have no idea about them yet ... DW has her laptop... Each of us have an Ipod, me and DW have the matching green and pink ones, DD has the shuffle (the small pink one on the right) and DS has the Ipod Touch...

Just to let you know, it may not make a differance to you but the All-Star Sports is the 1st resort picked up and let off of the 3. When we stayed there we almost always had a seat. It may not seem like a big deal but it does help. Have fun

This was actually a major plus that was in our heads... Last year was at ASMovies and there was a lot of standing bus rides... I like knowing we can sit...

Love the In-Flight Entertainment! I am super jealous! DH and I both have iPhones, but DS will for sure take over one of them to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I'm dying for a DS....
