OT -- Storybook Land and Sesame Place - Any thoughts

Sesame Place charges full admission price for a 2 year OLD! $44.50! Sorry, but for what your getting at Sesame... Totally not worth it... I shake my head:sad2: :sad2: everytime I think.. sesame 44.50 for DD who is 2... Disney, FREE for dd who is 2!
We prefer Dutch Wonderland... Much cleaner, nicer and cheapier admission for all of us! $28.95 for 3 and Up... so... like Disney DD is FREE!

Is Storybook land like Fairy Tale Forest?? I heard they recently closed down, but dont know if thats true or not?? totally different than Sesame Place! Im surprised no one mentioned (unless I skimmed over it!) The Land of Make Believe !!! I love it there!!!

We've never been to Sesame Place (DH and I were just commenting this morning when we saw a commercial for it that we successfully dodged that bullet--kids are 8 and 6 now), but give a great big Thumbs Up to StoryBook Land. Nover had to wait too long for a ride, everything was clean, everyone was friendly, and my personal favorite thing about it--lots of Shade! That's a huge plus at the end of August!

We do Story Book Land every year at Christmas. When they turn the lights on at dusk it's magical. I'm not sure it would be worth it any other time of year, though. And it probably wouldn't be worth a long trip just to see it. (My brother lives near there, so we go up for a weekend visit and just go to the park for a few hours.)

I agree with the post above. Don't forget about Land of Make Believe. YOu can get some good discount coupons. I have also been to Storybook LAnd, also very cute. We did like Sesame Place but we have not been there in a long time.

Been to Sesame Place. Wouldn't waste the time. It was every bit as bad as people are saying here. We were at a small pool with my daughter and a bunch of adults were wrestling and throwing each other around. While this was going on, staff was watching and whooping it up with these maniacs. We had to leave before my daughter got hurt. Would never go again. I could highly recommend Knoebels as a great place to take the family. Nice, quiet and very family oriented. Very affordable if you are out with the kids as it is free admission and you buy tickets or wrist bands, so if it's a day with the kids, adults won't be stuck paying to walk around with the little ones. Allot of times I was told I could get on the rides for free with my daughter. Once inside, food and drinks are as inexpensive as you will find in an amusement park.

We traveled to Sesame Place back in '05 for two days and stayed at the Sheraton across the street. The park is mostly a water park. It was the first time my DS got to experience one and the end result was that we now go to BB and TL more than the "4 gates" at WDW. We did not have the expectations that it would be at the level of WDW and their website and views from satellite images told us it was going to be a small park. My son absolutely loved their only roller coaster, the Vapor Trail however, if you don't like waterparks then don't go as there are limited dry things to do. As an aside, we did the character breakfast and dinner. The dinner was much more of an orderly event with assigned seating and each character except big bird is brought to each table. The breakfast felt like a free for all with open seating and a haphazard character greet. And BTW, the food was ok to me but I am not a picky person. The character meals all occurs under a covered area outside, so rain heat and humidity will impact your experience. We wouldn't do it again, but we don't regret the trip.

Hi gang,

I know it's way off topic from Disney but has anyone been to Storybook Land or Sesame Place? I have a 2 yr. old and wondering if either are worth it. Thanks.

We have done both. Storybook land is very nice and especially geared towards very young children. It is a favorite trip for the daycare centers here in the South jersey area. The rides are based on childrens nursey rhymes.
Sesame place is like a mini Great adventures for the smaller kids set. They have water rides, lots of fountain type areas, daily parades and of course the characters. It gets very packed (it's squeezed in next to a mall, if I remember correctly) since it's popularity has outgrown it's size. It is pretty expensive.

My mother and I took my DD (2 at the time) to Sesame Place 2 years ago. I "get" what other posters have said about the staff, crowds, and cost, I definately saw some staff that would have rather been anywhere but there. Plus, there were TONS of day camp busses dumping off TONS of un/undersupervised kids. BUT, for us it was WONDERFUL. My DD LOVED Sesame Street and was in awe the entire time.
The park is almost entirely a water park and we weren't quite prepared for that. We did have our suits on but we just expected more dry rides etc.

We had the character dinner. That was the absolute highlight of the trip. Every character (except Big Bird as previously mentioned, who took photos by the stage) came to our table and had a picture with my baby. It was July and outside though, so we were miserably hot (I can't imagine what the characters felt like).

It has been nearly 2 years and my DD still talks about the "prirade". ;)

An interesting side note, my parents took my brother and I there the weekend Sesame Place opened 27 years ago. It was NOTHING like I remembered but it was great fun to take my child during their 25th anniversary year. We had our pictures taken on the original entrance, big bird's head, same as our first trip.

The character meals were moved into a new indoor catering facility that opened last year.

Personally I love Sesame Place. I have been going for 20+ years and I have never had any bad experiences with rude guests, rude employees, or uncleanliness. I do agree with the crowed levels though, but what do you expect from a theme park that is centrally located between Philadelphia and New York City.
