Hey everyone!

I really want to get some presents from DLRP but im so broke this year. Luckily i have most of DD's Christmas presents.

I won't be getting much Emma - certainly won't be getting the dress there as they are too expensive!! I too am starting to think about Christmas - can't leave it until the last mo as it's too expensive then!! :rolleyes1

OT but I'm having a right panic at the mo. My poor DD1 fell and really banged her mouth when she was 20 months old. 9 months after she got a 'gum boil' and for the last 1.5 years we've had to go backwards and forwards to the Dental Hospital for the surgeon and paed dentist to keep an eye on it. We went on Friday and they took an x-ray (about the 5th one) and said the front tooth has now definately abscessed and needs to be taken out :scared1: I'm so worried about it as she's only 4 (was 4 in April). I'm also scared of her having a general to have it done. I just wish there was some other way but it appears not as it could damage the adult tooth in the gum if it's not removed. I'm so upset about it all - I really thought we were going to get away with not having to do anything but monitor it :sad2: I know it's silly but I just can't imagine her without her front tooth at 4 and also I'm concerned about the implications for her adult tooth - it may come through funny, it may not erupt at all, it may affect her speech etc etc :sad1:

Anyone else any experience of teeth being pulled at an early age in their children???

Your poor dd :hugs:

What age do the other teeth start to come through? Will they not give her a false tooth in the mean time?

Good evening everybody.

I've had a (long) day in London thanks to the £10 return offer that the train company down here are running this month.

I had a fun day - spent a couple of hours in the natural history museum, had a wander down oxford and regent street, then paid a quick visit to those magic trains (oh how I wanted to board one and go to Disney ;)). i then took a gentle journey back home via a couple of other places in London that are special to me.

My son had two teeth out at the age of 6 so a little older but they were baby teeth (because some of his baby teeth had no enamel), anyway although it was distressing (for us) he was fine and his adult teeth have come through no problem. Hard to say to you don't worry as I'm just as bad and you're bound too but :hug:anyway.

I think it depends on the child but around 7-10 yrs really so she has a long way to go :(

No, they generally do not do dentures in young children - certainly not on the NHS anyway. I'm not sure how successful they'd be anyway in such a young child?? I will of course ask when we go to the see the Paed dental consultant on 11th Aug. I'm just so upset about it - of course because of the aesthetics but also because of the other 'risks' associated with it as I mentioned earlier. On top of that, she is a good speaker but starting school, they start to learn the more meaningful pronunciations of 'blending' words etc and I'm worried her speech will be affected and therefore her confidence :confused3 And of course the thought of a general for her makes me soo :scared1:

I really wish it was me and not her! To top it all DD2 fell about 3 months ago and knocked her front tooth wobbly! So, we wait with bated breath to see if she will have the same issues as DD1 - you wouldn't believe it could happen to two kids in one household! The worst of it is, I wasn't there when either fall happened - both other relatives and DH!!!

Hello Patsy :goodvibes My DS has been under general 5 times now and he's been fine every time but believe me it's very normal to still get worried. My DD on the other hand is only 5 and a half and she lost her first tooth 7 months ago!:scared1: She has since lost 3 more but each time she's lost them it's because the new tooth has pushed it out:eek: When we took her the dentist they just said she has really strong adult teeth so that's why they've come through so early. Her two adult one's she's lost on the bottom are now fully grown and her two front teeth at the top are half way through! Think she may rival Goofy as they are coming through huge! :rotfl2:. Just to reassure you though it never effected her speech :goodvibes

No I'm not packed :( DH thinks I'm taking far too much and now I'm doubting myself! Think I'm going to have to do it today as I have SO muxh to do the next couple of days! :)

Good Morning everyone! I've got terrible Disney blues at the moment, why do we ever have to leave?

Patsy, my son had a general at aged 3yrs, he had an absess under one of his molars, was terrified of the dentist and ended up at Manchester Dental Hospital. He ended up having the four teeth out to even his mouth up, he was groggy for a few days but soon bounced back, but I will never forget the dread of seeing him go under.
((hugs)) to you both, I'm sure everything will be fine but worrying about it is natural when you are a parent and no amount of telling you not to worry will help, *** I know you will anyway!

Patsy my friend's son had to have a front tooth out when he was 3 - he'd been born without enamel on it and it was going black. He never had any problems. Front teeth do generally fall out earlier than 7 as well, more like 5 or 6 in lots of the children in my son's class. His 2 bottom ones fell out when he was 6 and he was one of the last in his class to lose teeth.

I been so upset this weekend.

Ever since my bro has moved his fiance into my parents house i have become invisible. I have been waiting months for someone from my family to come and help me finish decorating my front room as i cant do it by myself (i have tried :lmao). All i hear is broken promises or excuses.

If my Brother or his annoying stupid Gf needed help everyone would fall over themselves to help. I really need to get on with this room so i can start to redo Kyra's room in November and then mine but i refuse to start another room when i havent even finished this one.

I don't know what to do, mum has said she will pop over on Tues to help a bit but i need more than a bit of help and my Dad won't even give up a few hours to help out a bit. He was meant to take me to get a quote for a carpet but this hasnt amounted to anything and i need my carpet fitted by the time my new sofas come in Septmeber.

Sorry rant over.

Aww no. My parents went a bit like this when my sister had her first baby. It was their first grandchild so I really got pushed out. I was organising my wedding at the time and my mu even refused to come to my wedding unless the baby could come!:scared1: We had said no children and as he was only 1 I didn't see why he had to come as he would never remember it anyway! I ended up giving in but I can really feel your frustration! I would say maybe tell them how you feel but it never worked with mine!:rotfl2: Hope you feel better soon :goodvibes

I'm sorry this has happened. My parents were a bit like this when my sister was getting married. So I spoke up & then they realised, it happened a bit again when my niece was born but just excepted it. Now though my sister may think the same as my parents gave me a lot of attention & praise etc when I started with the ambulance service.

Also my dad knows that when I get a place of my own he will be doing work on it. I have started a list (its not my fault he is an engineer/plumber)

Sometimes its good to be an only child;)

I have decided im going to get the bus tomorrow and get my quote for the carpet, means i can take DD to toys r us and the pet shop aswell. Not a exciting day out but better then nothing.
