Aww thanks for all the replies and hugs

I'm coming around to it not being such a big thing. One of DD's friends had her front tooth out ages ago and I hadn't even noticed until her Mum said! So that made me feel better - plus she doesn't seem to have any issues with speech etc either.
It was the paed dentist that told me the average age is 7 yrs for front teeth to come in (adult ones that is). But as people have said here, hopefully, it won't be long before some of her friends at school are losing theirs too etc.
I should stay away from the net though as I've worried myself silly reading about the dangers of leaving abscesses - a boy of 12 died in the US last year

!!! I'm going to ring up the paed dentist's sec and see if can have a chat with her - not sure why we need to see her again really when the surgeon has said it needs doing. Fingers crossed we can get it done asap - not keen to have it done the week before we go to DLRP say and then after that she starts school so we only have a window of about a week!
Emma - sorry to hear about your parents

Maybe going to the carpet shop yourself will make them realise they are not being v supportive. I'm not a single Mum but I often spend weeks on my own with my DDs due to DH working away and it is sooo hard. I don't know what I'd do without support from my Mum now and again! Hope your Mum helps on Tues and sees how much of a job it is and it's not just a quick hour or so help.
Buttercup - did you get your packing done????
Sonya - lol at Ash - my DD1 strips off at any opportunity but always to get dressed up in fancy dress - she'd live in a Disney Princess outfit if she could
For once, we've actually had lovely weather here today - DD1 was at a party this am and pm we went to a local park which has a water feature/fountains so she was in her swimming costume running in and out of the splash areas

It's meant to be nice tomorrow too but then sadly turn again Tues - DH is off this week so we are going to go to a farm or something tomorrow to make the most of the weather
