I've not started mine yet either. It's 4 weeks on Friday until I head of for Disneyland California, so I need to make sure I've got everything sorted before then :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

I really need to see if I can re-upload my photos as I've messed around with them so they're no longer available - I'll see if I can sit down and do that at some point soon :thumbsup2

Guys I'm conscious I haven't done my TR either, and I promised. I found my notes last night but I can't do it yet as I have lost the USB cable for my camera so I can't download the pics. I had a meeting here with HarperCollins and they used a usb slot on my laptop - I now have a usb cable in my laptop which doesn't fit my camera so I presume I have theirs and they have mine! I've ordered another so it should be here soon.
Keep reminding me though to do it!

Think this is going to be my evening tonight - tagging and uploading photos. I've got a huge number of photos from various trips so it's going to take me quite a long time to say the least, but it will be worth it when it's finished and I can just point people at my flickr profile :goodvibes

Hi everyone - just catching up - I am still hear, reading more than posting :lmao:

Hope you are all well

Hi - welcome to the chat thread. Hope you enjoy you trip :yay:

I've just discovered I've got a few more photos on my computer than I thought - I've got over 3,000 on there. What this means is - it's going to take me just a little longer than I thought to get anything onto the web because it's probably going to be tomorrow morning before I've even imported them into my program ready to add all the various tags so I can find things again later :lmao:

A few months back i had to cancel my debit card as someone had used it
fraudulently, some 02 prepay Ltd thing for the sum of £30.

I was advised then that if i had a credit card use that instead for all online transactions as you have more protection.
So, that is exactly what i have done, only using my debit card in shops and to withdraw cash.

Today on my bank account i noticed £1 missing between my current cleared balance and my balance so i rang my bank and they had a £1 pre authorization charge at 5pm on the 10th.

I know for a fact i only used my card in 2 shops that day (lunchtime) and the bank said the pre authorization is usually only used for telephone or online transactions not shops.
So they have advised me to cancel my card just incase someone has got hold of my card details and has used the pre authorization to check before they clear me out.

Can you believe it.:headache: to top it all i had to take an item back yesterday for a refund (used my debit card) i have been assured that even though that card has now been cancelled the money should still get back to my account. I hope it does!

Oh no Brigette!

Did they not tell you what company/shop had used the £1 authorization for?

No they couldn't see, just that it was for £1.

The first person i spoke to before he cut me off  seemed to think it wasn't anything to worry about, just keep an eye on my account he even asked if i was sure that i hadn't used it over the phone or online. Like i would forget :sad2:

Anyway when i rang back and spoke to someone else they said to cancel it straight away just to be safe.

I don't think i am going to use my new card at all when it comes through, too scared now

Oh no, hope it's sorted quickly. I had a panic the other day when someone used my paypal for nearly £50 and it's all linked to my debit card. Thankfully paypal refunded it and everything was sorted quickly.

I would recommend that you only use your debit card to withdraw cash and then only at recognised atms.

Trying to get money back from your bank on a debit card can take time whereas if its on a credit card then its their money they have to claim back.

£1 pre authorisations are used in fraud as a card validity test.

Are you sure your computer is clean? To happen twice seems likely that your computer is running something nasty if transactions have been made on it.

I am pretty sure the computer is fine, been using Avast and Ad-Aware for ages. I have been using my credit card for online transactions no problem at all.(not that i use it that much)

I don't use my debit card for any online/phone transactions anymore since i had the problem with the 02 prepay thing. I only use it in shops and ATM's and have done since September.:confused3

I have to agree its ridiculous, you should be able to use your cards wherever you want without fear of someone taking your money.

However as I mentioned if you only use your debit card on a trusted atm then no one can get your details or more importantly your money

(ps I used to admit to working in bank but nowadays we're hated so much that I get a better reaction if I admit to being an estate agent):scared1:

Sorry to hear about the problems you've been having, what a nightmare! I can't understand how they don't know what the £1 charge is for. :confused3

Just a thought- have you used Paypal recently? I've heard about people being charged a handling fee for processing payments when using certain card types.
